With newly redesigned controls, Starsceptre is a pixelated retro shoot ’em up using touch to shoot your way through the game, testing your nerves and reactions to their limits.

With auto fire ALWAYS ON, you can use a second touch to stop firing, enabling you to wait for weapons to drop or to shoot only when you need to.

As the pilot, you awake suddenly in the cockpit of your Starfighter to find your short-term memory missing and your planet shattered into two halves.

Accompanied by a mysterious stowaway who wields the Starsceptre - a magical device that rewinds time - you must battle your way to defeating the evil Draxses.

Can you stop other planets from suffering the same fate?

Looking like one of those 8bit or 16 bit pixel games you loved as a kid, you'll relive 80s & 90s arcade memories on the go via your iPhone or iPad. And like all the classics, this game is easy to play, but difficult to master.

### 5/5 — Great SHMUP

*2020-04-20, version 2.1*

Great retro styled shmup with engaging gameplay

### 2/5 — Audio

*2020-04-08, version 2.0.2*

I have settings, but no audio options? Do I really want to hear that one audio confirmation chime 5 times before starting a game?

Overall I like the retro style game but it’s a bit frustrating at times (due to difficulty, Lowe health and high damage. Your airplane is practically made out of cardboard paper) shouldn’t there be a difficulty option?

I would give it a 5-star but there’s some basic stuff missing

### 2/5 — Disappointed.

*2020-04-01, version 2.0.2*

The controls are wonky, rendering this game broken. I wish I could get a refund.

### 1/5 — Great style, horrible controls

*2019-09-22, version 2.0.2*

Great retro game with awesomely crafted cut-scenes. However, the controls make this game pretty unplayable. Similar games in this genre allow the player to auto-fire their weapons, requiring only one finger to steer the ship, but this game requires one finger to steer, and second finger to fire your weapons. Not very convenient on a tiny iPhone. I guess the game is only $.99, so I guess what you get what you pay for. My recommendation would be to spend a little bit more money and buy a similar game that’s actually has the controls thought out.

### 5/5 — Nice art and old school arcade gameplay

*2019-04-17, version 2.0.2*

Really nice and fun game overall. I cannot understate how much I love arcade style shmup, and this game delivers, compared to many freemium at the appstore that I’ll never touch.
The voice over still has some room for improvement, but for $1 game, I’m not complaining. Good job dev!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2019-03-03, version 2.0.2*

I really enjoyed playing this game. The gameplay, the art, the music, and story where all very well done! Please continue to make great games like this.

Also any possibility of a console/PC release? When it comes to smups I just have a need for a controller / joystick.

### 5/5 — Top notch Game 👍

### 5/5 — Great

*2019-03-01, version 2.0.2*

Great game. Downloaded after seeing the game featured on RetroRGB’s YouTube channel.

### 5/5 — Shoot 'em up heaven!!!

*2019-02-28, version 2.0.2*

If you love the classic shoot me style games and want something fresh, then this is the game for you.

### 5/5 — Awesome game.

*2019-02-28, version 2.0.2*

Really enjoy this game. Good for quick bouts at the bus stop and longer sessions on the sofa after work. Beautiful design and color. I found the controls easy to navigate which helped immerse me in the experience. Intuitive yet challenging. Five stars!
