The customer service agent only gave me a free delivery coupon which I can’t even use because they keep canceling my order. The second time the agent kept disconnecting my chat without saying goodbye, and said “your second order only canceled after 19 minutes” as if that helped. ### 1/5 — customer service won’t believe you… *2025-12-09, version 2.41.6* had no issues with the overcharging of goods because it was so convenient until customer service accused me of fabricating the expired milk in the drink i got. upon providing date time and location that the photo was taken, i was informed that my account would be suspended permanently- over 10 dollars. super cool guys! ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-11-20, version 2.41.6* This app is so unreliable it’s impressive. Wait time will be 30 minutes and I’ll get it in 2hrs. I’ll have missing items and won’t get a refund just promo codes ### 1/5 — APP NOT WORKING *2025-11-18, version 2.41.6* I paid for a delivery, but once I came back to the app to verify using the facial recognition system. The app never worked, then when I went to restart the app it just completely shutdown. I never recieved my order or the money back even when I was home and there to receive a delivery. ### 1/5 — Stopped working *2025-11-11, version 2.41.6* I placed and order and the app just stopped working after I had already paid, lost 20$ for nothing. ### 3/5 — Always something wrong *2025-11-11, version 2.41.6* When the app works, it’s great. But every once in a while and then A LOT lately the app hasn’t been working. It’ll just never load on a random page and it changes which one whether it’s a menu, the cart, the payment options, etc. It also frequently doesn’t save the payment options with the school dining plan which is really irritating. The solution typically is to delete the app and redownload and start over. I’ve tried that 3 times now and it’s still not working. The app is really unreliable. ### 1/5 — Never seen an app fail to open this much *2025-11-10, version 2.41.6* This app just refuses to open. I frankly don’t know why I still use it. Day after day after day I see the stupid dog or kitten or bunny. It just doesn’t open. Even orders that are wrong (a microwaved soggy cheese bread does not equal a grilled cheese), there’s no attempt to make it right or refund. They offered a coupon for my next order that was half the cost. Why would I order again? ### 2/5 — Terrible Customer Service Unfortunately *2025-10-03, version 2.40.5* Drink spilled inside of the bot, but unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the inside of the bot before it left so customer service refused to do anything despite me having pictures of the drink spilled bag and food. ### 1/5 — No accessiblility *2025-09-21, version 2.39.8* I’m a disabled student who can’t walk to most dining locations. It decided to stop accepting my meal plan despite working fine for others and me not having issues with my plan. Support staff were rude and unhelpful and now I guess I don’t get to eat. ### 3/5 — On the fence *2025-06-04, version 2.39.4* First time user on campus and although the food was correct, still warm, and arrived. It ALSO went offline almost immediately after getting the food. I had to reach out to customer service to even figure out there WAS an issue; no notification or auto ticket was placed to let me know. Granted - customer service was quick to get in contact with, but I had to go back and forth a bit to iron out the details after they told me it went offline. But I also was given the option of a refund and a discount on my next order when it was late. So it’s rough - because I like the concept, but I shouldn’t have to figure out there’s an issue and need to hammer out a solution; especially when I’m already busy. It just adds to an already busy moment, when I just wanted a convenient way to get breakfast ### 1/5 — Always down *2025-04-21, version 2.39.4* Cute idea. Said my order was delivered and when I went for self pickup they said they didn’t get it. No food, no money back, I love starship. Super reliable, throw your money away, scam. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible customer service *2026-04-28, version 2.45.1* I didn’t receive part of my order and I asked for a partial refund and they gave me $3 credit instead which I advocated vocally that I didn’t want. My friend had the same thing happen to them where they didn’t receive the same part of their order and they received a refund. I discussed this with customer service and they told me it wasn’t possible and ended the chat on me. I reopened it and provided proof just to still be met with no answers. If you want to be overcharged as a struggling college student and get nothing back if something goes wrong then this service is for you! ### 1/5 — Good, unless it’s late. *2026-04-09, version 2.44.0* Very useful service until the delivery is running late. In which case customer service will paste the same message and you have to deal with late cold food. ### 1/5 — Will never refund you even if they mess up! *2026-03-12, version 2.43.1* AVOID this company! They are predatory and anti-consumer. Their app is buggy and has issues reporting the status of the robots. Not to mention that orders are frequently messed up. I ordered on this app and the robot location was not on the app, and only stated “arriving now”. I could not find the bot anywhere, and they cancelled my order. They refuse to give refunds, even if their service fails or malfunctions. The customer service was rude, and told me they won’t help me despite me trying to be polite and explain why I should have been refunded. They refused to let me speak to a supervisor as well. They just want to pocket your money and care not at all about your user experience. ### 1/5 — Don’t download *2026-03-11, version 2.43.1* Worst customer service when order doesn’t show up. Got the same person via texting service for help multiple times and they just kept ending the chat so they didn’t have to help me. She didn’t even offer to hear the problem first. ### 1/5 — Empty robot and Half hour late *2026-03-11, version 2.43.1* I ordered from my campus Starbucks. After waiting 30 minutes after the delete eta, I contacted the support staff who called the store. The robot started moving 5 minutes after and an empty robot arrived. My food arrived at a time I could not pick it up so they cancelled my order (since I didn’t pick it up). It wouldn’t automatically refund so I contacted customer support and they quickly got back to me through their chat service. I was able to get a refund and the customer support person was so nice! Definitely improved my experience of the app. Food quality is usually fine and more based on whoever packed your order (items being forgotten, spills) than the Starships themselves. I’ve definitely had things spill but it’s almost always been from someone at the store not putting a sticker over the opening of something. And I’ve been autorefunded for missing items immediately before.
