### 4/5 — Good!

*2025-01-12, version 2.6.1*

This is a great app to start stretching, and it’s completely free. My only complaint is that it is the same stretches. Don’t get me wrong they are great stretches, but there are no other options. But over all this is a great app for beginners.

### 4/5 — Great beginner app!!!💪🏻

*2024-06-13, version 2.6.1*

9 exercises to get your stretching. VERY easy app to use (saying this as a complete beginner to stretching).

I would have given it a 5 if there were more stretches, but you can’t argue at the 9 available on the basis the app is free!👌🏼

### 3/5 — Pretty good for beginners

*2023-07-05, version 2.6.1*

Would be better if there were modifications listed. Also, the description of the twist doesn’t match the illustration.

### 5/5 — Really helps keep flexibility

*2023-06-11, version 2.6.1*

It’s a great app. I use it as a pre workout stretch before weight training, martial arts or even HiiT training

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2023-05-27, version 2.6.1*

This app is very helpful for those who think they are ready to “workout” or “exercise “ but cannot last the first 5 minutes of a workout routine or who does a whole workout routine fine, then are down for 5 days because you overdid it. This app allows you to take it show, and start back with basics. People are hating on the app but maybe because they are already in shape a little. I hurt head to toe getting out of bed in the mornings and today, I tried this app. Yes, it’s is basic but, I only need basic. If I can’t touch anywhere near my toes I don’t need to overrated apps with nice buff in shape people. I need an app like this. It counts for you and has sounds so you don’t have to stare at the phone. Doing these basic, “easy” stretches got my heart rate up and out of breath. This shows me I need to start here and work these stretches until I can too, look at the app and call it “basic”. I’m not ready for something more intense than this app.

### 5/5 — It’s hard to do a simple thing well

*2023-05-22, version 2.6.1*

But this app does it. It doesn’t have a vast array of stretches or options. It doesn’t have flashy videos or celebrity voiceovers, and it’s better for it tbh.

It’s easy to get bogged down with too many options when it comes to exercise. There’s no frills or distractions on this app. You open it, set the time per stretch and go.

### 5/5 — OMG THIS IS STUNNING

*2023-03-11, version 2.6.1*

I love Thai app bc my back was really aching and ever since i got this app it Andre if so much better! :)there is no adverts what do ever! <3

### 5/5 — Excellent program

*2023-02-05, version 2.6.1*

A gentle approach to creating important stretching habits, particularly useful as one gets older.

### 2/5 — Times are only moderately adjustable

*2022-12-15, version 2.6.1*

The individual stretches don’t have times that adjust to the overall routine.

### 5/5 — Simple and easy to use. Great app.

*2022-12-07, version 2.6.1*

This app is a great tool to build your stretching habit. Stretching is a great way to keep your body flexible and limber. Recommend.

### 5/5 — An awesome app to start the day off right!

*2022-12-04, version 2.6.1*

So great to go through exercises each morning and start the day off right. Love how I can adjust and personalize stretch times and continuous going through stretches.

### 5/5 — Great motivation

*2022-11-11, version 2.6.1*

Feel better when doing theses starches

### 5/5 — Yup

### 5/5 — DCM

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What?

*2026-03-13, version 2.7.0*

Why only 9 stretches?

### 1/5 — Nope!

*2026-01-02, version 2.6.1*

Only NINE stretches??!!

### 1/5 — WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Completely lost here

*2025-04-07, version 2.6.1*

Like I said, It’s not doing anything for me because I don’t have any direction on how to use this app. Unless that’s all there is just settings!

### 1/5 — Do Not Purchase Premium

*2023-09-07, version 2.6.1*

This app offers very few stretches/features. The premium version offers a small number of additional stretches, but it is not worth the cost. Definitely do not purchase.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2022-10-22, version 2.6.0*

Zero stars. Worst stretching app I’ve seen. You only get 9 stretches with the base app - and they’re so random and all over the place that you can’t really benefit from them. Paying for premium gets you 9 more - Also random and therefore pretty useless. Hint - you need at least 40 or so basic stretch options to really be useful at all, more like 60+ to get beyond beginner. You can’t combine paid and non paid apps into one view - you have to go into settings just to change the view just to look at the different stretches. Horrible interface. Pretty unfortunately unusable. Just on principle, i’m calling to get my $1.99 back, as it’s not worth even that tiny amount of money - that’s how bad it is! Guessing the small number of written review are fake, and the star-only reviews are paid-bots. Feels like a scam.

### 1/5 — Remove ads will charge you !

*2022-09-11, version 2.6.0*

I clicked the remove ads button on the app and it charged me $1.99. The app is pretty basic - it is a picture and a timer, total of 10 poses. It is is basically a photo gallery with a timer under each photo. I removed the app and installed again. When I clicked the remove ads button, it wanted to charge me $1.99 again. What a scam !!

### 1/5 — The app asks you to allow them to track you.

*2022-07-15, version 2.6.0*

Just as the title says. At the first launch of the app it asks you to allow tracking for advertisements so they can continue to support the app. Such a bad way of conducting business. I wish the app was striving to stop tracking instead.

### 1/5 — Never changes

*2022-03-06, version 2.5.4*

So I’ve got 9 stretches on this and it never changes. Is this correct?

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time!

*2021-12-20, version 2.5.3*

Only a few free stretches and a whole bunch of ads. Another typical “free ads” app that’s just trying to lure you in. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — I have the same 9 stretches every day

*2021-11-29, version 2.5.3*

What am I doing wrong? I have the premium paid version but my stretches never change or alternate. They are the same exact 9 stretches every time, but I see in settings there’s a slew of different ones but I’m never able to do them. What gives?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-03-09, version 2.7.0*

I love these stretches. They are very effective, I have used this app for 5 plus years now and it’s wonderful!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-03-08, version 2.7.0*

Easy and effective 👍🏽 more levels would be nice.

### 5/5 — A great little app

*2025-08-05, version 2.6.1*

I’ve been using Start Stretching for at least a year now, and it has made a difference. Easy-to-follow instructions and the alerts between each exercise are helpful.

### 5/5 — Good

*2025-07-01, version 2.6.1*

A good variety of stretching for free

### 5/5 — Used once, good stretches

*2024-03-12, version 2.6.1*

I have only used this one time but I like the stretches, I like the 7 seconds to get setup and the 30 second timer. It was easy to figure out and I feel good.

### 5/5 — Stretching

*2023-12-11, version 2.6.1*

Breathe, relax, and stretch. Great way to warm up the motor and stay limber.

### 5/5 — It's a great app! Wish it had a progression

*2023-11-26, version 2.6.1*

it's definitely one of my favorite apps, but one thing I miss a lot is that it's got no option for progression, besides extending time or going on a second round, and it had limited set of moves. I hope there will be some updates.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2023-11-24, version 2.6.1*

These full body stretches cover the basics. Anything more complicated and I would find reasons not to start.

### 5/5 — Nice and Basic

*2023-09-04, version 2.6.1*

I love this app! It’s nice and simple and gets the job done for me. It does not take long and it times each stretch and automatically goes to next stretch. The ease and time allows me to do each day.

### 5/5 — Simple little free app and easy to use.

*2023-07-15, version 2.6.1*

Simple little free app and easy to use. 100% better than trying to figure stretching out for yourself.
