### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-09-16*

Read Rips book many years ago and have done the program on and off over the years, used the old app and now the newer version. It has been tremendously helpful in helping me attain my goals
Many thanks

### 5/5 — Great app to start or get back into weightlifting

*2026-09-10*

This app is a great meat and potatoes app to get into weightlifting. The free version (which I currently use) offers at least three to six months of starting workouts, form tips, and more. I’ve loved it for the past two months. Planning on upgrading to paid once I plateau with the beginning program.

### 1/5 — Downgrade from V1

*2026-09-10*

V1 stopped working. So I down loaded this one. Bad interface, and they charge you to break down the plates. The old version worked fine for those of us that like simple. Now I have to pay a fee just to have the app do math for me on which plates go on the bar which is silly money grab. Too bad.

### 2/5 — Still haven’t fixed main issues with v1. This is a pass again.

*2026-08-21*

Why keep tracking your workouts for free when you can pay $15 a month for bad UX? I left V1 originally because you couldn’t customize it, like at all. Well their “fix” for this was to add a custom logbook - which doesn’t overlay or connect to the original program at all - so it is basically just a parallel log? I can do that on my own? They need to develop an app that looks like train heroic. The only consistently good fitness app for UX. I know Rippetoe hates technology with a fiery passion for fashion, but yikes dude. Get with the times.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the detailed feedback — the frustration is fair. You're right that the Free Log and the structured program run separately right now, and we're not going to dress that up. The ability to add assistance work directly alongside your programmed lifts is a real gap, not a framing issue.

A lot of what you're describing is actually being addressed in v1.1.4, which is currently in beta. If you want early access, email us at customersupport@strength.club and we'll add you to the beta list — your feedback at that stage would genuinely help us get it right before it ships to everyone.

The TrainHeroic comparison is a useful benchmark and we take it seriously. UX is an area we're investing in, and we'd rather hear specific criticism like yours than polite silence.

### 3/5 — No health integration

*2026-08-08*

Would be much better if it integrated with for example Apple health and the Iwatch to help track rest brakes and sets, etc., without having to have your phone on you. it’s been promised for a long time. It’s still haven’t published the capability. been putting my novice progression program and a StrongLifts to help track until this app becomes more usuable.

**Developer response:** Thanks for sticking with the method despite the frustration — that's fair feedback. Apple Health and Apple Watch integration are in active development and included in our v1.1.2 beta right now, so it's genuinely close, not vaporware. We know "soon" wears thin when you've been waiting, and we're sorry it hasn't shipped to everyone yet. In the meantime, the rest timer on your phone is the most reliable workaround we can offer. If you want early beta access, email us at customersupport@strength.club and we'll see what we can do. Keep adding weight to the bar. — Starting Strength team

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2026-07-14*

Excellent app. Love that you can outright buy it instead of the subscription. Love that it calculates what weight I need. Honestly the most useful app on my phone. Can’t thank you guys enough.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much — this made our day! The lifetime option is there exactly for people who are committed to the long haul, and it sounds like you're one of them. The automatic weight calculations and progression are really the heart of the app, so we're glad that's landing as useful. Keep adding weight to the bar, and if you ever need anything, we're at customersupport@strength.club. — Starting Strength team

### 5/5 — Simple, straightforward, and effective

*2026-06-02*

Very happy my friend recommended this app to me. I need a little kick in the pants after a few years away from heavy lifting. This is very intuitive and works. Put in the time and follow it, and see the results! Gotta be consistent- that’s on me!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words, and big thanks to your friend for the recommendation! You've already figured out the most important part — consistency is the variable that matters most, and the fact that you own that is a great sign. The app will handle the programming, progression, and plate math; you just have to show up. Welcome back to the bar, and enjoy watching those weights climb. If you ever need anything, we're at customersupport@strength.club.

### 1/5 — Not ready

*2026-05-18*

Starting lifting again after a long time off. Went through onboarding, but lost my place during shoulder presses. And rest timer doesn’t continue if you check another app on phone. Going back to V1 for now

**Developer response:** Thanks for getting back under the bar — that's the important thing.

We want to be upfront: the rest timer issue you described has been addressed in a recent update, so if you haven't updated the app lately, that fix should already be waiting for you in the App Store. If it's still misbehaving after updating, please email us at customersupport@strength.club and we'll sort it out fast.

On losing your place during the overhead press — we'd like to understand exactly what happened there. A quick email to customersupport@strength.club with the details will help us reproduce it and get it fixed.

V2 is a genuine step forward from V1 — automatic stall detection, smarter programming, plate math, and more — and we think it'll be worth the switch once these rough edges are smoothed out. We'd love to earn you back.

— The Starting Strength Team

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2026-04-21*

Easy way to track progress

**Developer response:** Thank you so much — we're glad the app is doing its job and staying out of your way! Simple and effective is exactly what we aimed for. Keep adding weight to the bar, and if you ever need anything, we're at customersupport@strength.club.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2026-04-06*

I downloaded the App right from the start. I used the original Starting Strength App for years, with a short interrupt by the Strength Club. But I went back to the Starting Strength App because it was everything I need in a simple and easy to use package.
So I was a bit concerned at first, as the new App was announced.
But that was totally unnecessary. I reported two bugs, which got fixed immediately. Also I wished for a feature (display not only plates per side, but also the total weight per side on the bar) which got implemented by now. Big thank you to the whole team.
The pricing,… yep, it’s not cheap. And I personally don’t use all of the features of the pro version. But I pulled the trigger on the buy once cry once edition. I just appreciate the flawless experience and customer oriented service up until now, and for all the years of usage ahead of me.

Thank you for this App!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much — this genuinely made our day. You've been with us through the original app, the Strength Club detour, and now V2, and that kind of long-term trust means everything to us.

We're really glad the transition turned out better than you feared. Hearing that the bug fixes came through quickly and that the total weight per side feature landed — those are exactly the kinds of wins we work hard to deliver. Thank you for taking the time to report those issues; users like you make the app better for everyone.

The "buy once, cry once" mindset is exactly the spirit we designed the lifetime option for. We'll keep earning it.

Here's to many more years of productive training. If anything ever comes up, we're at customersupport@strength.club.
