Utilizes the Dynamic Island which is more than I can say for the Apple stopwatch

### 5/5 — Keep getting better

*2023-10-08*

You would think that a timer app couldn’t get any better, but they keep adding features, and really do take feedback. The app is simple easy to use intuitive and full featured. I literally use this every day for my gig job.

**Developer response:** Thanks! You should be able to have multiple widgets with different StartWatches. If you go into the widget configuration you can select a specific StartWatch instead of the last used one

### 5/5 — Simple, Easy, Full Featured

Exactly what I needed for my work. Support for live action and widgets. One request: the ability to create multiple widgets for multiple timers as of right now you can only have one widget with the most recent timer

**Developer response:** Thanks! You should be able to have multiple widgets with different StartWatches. If you go into the widget configuration you can select a specific StartWatch instead of the last used one

### 5/5 — Finally the perfect stopwatch app

*2023-03-11*

I’ve tried many stopwatch apps but none did quite what I wanted it to until I found this one. All the others either have cumbersome UIs that get in my way or are just downright buggy. Startwatch has a great UX and just works. It’s one of those few apps that actually makes my life easier.

### 5/5 — The most underrated app ever! It’s amazing!

*2023-02-25*

I normally don’t review apps, but I simply had to review this lifesaver. The idea of starting a stopwatch which can later be turned into a timer is simple, yet brilliant! For tasks that require instant timers, this is a lifesaver! Without messing around with setting the timer, which loses precious time, I can just start the stopwatch in this app and worry about the timer later. Seriously, I couldn’t recommend this more.

P.S. Dynamic Island functionality is a big plus, as even Apple’s native clock app doesn’t support the dynamic island for stopwatches, only timers! Brilliant gem right here!

### 5/5 — In game timer

*2023-02-01*

Tracking buffs, etc, in game. Unique start first and set timer later is a great feature. For customized timers be sure to swipe up on timer page to repeat. You can also label each to keep track.

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2023-01-02*

Love that this app shows a stop watch in the dynamic island on iPhone 14.

### 5/5 — Absolutely brilliant

*2022-12-11*

Excellent. Many thanks

### 5/5 — Good so far.

*2022-10-30*

Liking the live activity feature. Suggestion: allow making timers any color.

### 5/5 — So beautiful!

*2022-10-22*

So nice app!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-03-22, version 1.3.3*

Just what I need for use on the Apple Watch, especially the complications.

Great to be able to switch each timer between stopwatch mode and set timer mode. I’ve not seen this in any other timer apps. It’s a brilliant idea, very useful.

Also good to have multiple timers and being able to switch the Apple Watch complication between the different timers.

Navigation and controls very easy. Would be great to be able to change the name of the timers on Watch app though.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Ugh

*2025-04-22*

Won’t open. Just get the move bar and close button.

### 1/5 — They won’t let me say my review

*2022-09-25*

It’s a 5 star app, but it needs a “start all” timers button and also needs to allow the user to name the timers to keep track of who’s who in a race. The five star is either the developer or a friend of the developer, but mine is real. And I will change it when the problem is fixed.

### 2/5 — Counterintuitive

*2025-05-06*

Yes it works. But what is the use of being able to create and use several times and stopwatches if you can only stop them all and reset them all and have to leave your timer screen to do say. It could be a five star app but it makes no sense that each clock/timer doesn’t have its own start, stop and reset buttons directly on the screen. I can’t even wrap my head around the usefulness of not being able to stop one and keep the other running or clearing one and and continuing ti use the other. Essentially? You only have one useful clock/timer if they’re all linked. I can make no sense of this and find no functionality here. It’s good for a stop watch or timer. But to say you can use and set several at a time just isn’t accurate if you can’t control them individually. It’s a false statement.

**Developer response:** Tap the screen or push the play/pause button to start and stop individually. Let me know if you have any trouble with this.

### 4/5 — Great app but…

*2022-10-30, version 2.1.5*

I love this app and it’s integration with live activities is really great on iOS 16.However one issue is that the pause button still does not work from the Lock Screen in the live activity, after many updates, please fix.

Thanks
RV.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-07-25*

This app is horological bliss. Very clever to star timing and THEN fuss with settings. On top of that, it's a very polished app. Three things I wish this had: 1) I really want it to just start timing as soon as I tap the complication on my Apple Watch. I don't want to double tap and starting timing as fast as possible would be aligned with this app's purpose. 2) I wish I could scroll the crown of Apple Watch to adjust the timer. So like scroll to add minutes or fast scroll to add hours. That could work really well. 3) Instead of only letting me specify number of minutes for the timer, I want to specify a time and have it calculate the timer for me. So imagine if I could just scroll the crown and it displayed the minutes/hours of the timer and also the hour/minute when the timer will end. That would be extremely useful.

**Developer response:** You can now do all of this in version 3.0. Thanks for the feedback!

### 5/5 — Does everything you ask for and then some and the widgets work great and the app does not have ads

*2026-06-14*

AMAZING

### 5/5 — Amazing stopwatch

*2026-05-26*

Better then Apple’s stopwatch because it lets you set the start time and make multiple stopwatches at once. Great app!

### 5/5 — Best stopwatch app ever made. Simple to use, with every feature you could possibly want.

*2026-03-27*

StartWatch does everything I could ever possibly want from a stopwatch app. I wish iOS had all of these features built-in.

I’m very grateful that the developer didn’t put the app behind a monthly subscription like most of the developers on the App Store these days. Just a cheap one-time-payment and you own the app (and all of its features) forever. The way it should be. Not charging $20 a month to access all the features.

I absolutely recommend StartWatch to anyone wishing to get more out of their phones stopwatch. Please support this amazing developer!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great review but StartWatch is completely free! There is no one time payment. Enjoy!
