### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-05-08*

Interface is really cool and easy to navigate, lots of free books to download and read. Definitely recommend.

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot! Happy that you enjoy the app :)

### 5/5 — Great app, one request

*2026-05-08*

I love your app, but I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to retain punctuation? The pauses are nice but I would love to see commas and semicolons.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review, colehosack! You’ve actually touched on a design choice that went through several iterations.

The punctuation is there, but we tucked it over to the right and dimmed the color to keep the focus entirely on the flow of the text. That said, if it’s so subtle that it feels missing, we clearly need to look at that!

Thanks for your feedback! We’re going to look into adding a toggle or customization options so you can bring those commas and semicolons back front-and-center.

### 5/5 — Anazing but powersaving mode

*2026-05-04*

It switches off at power saving mode so i need to keep on touching the screen or tapping every 10 seconds if you could just fix that that would be wonderful-this app just serves its purpose its super good and i wish you the best

**Developer response:** Edit: Hey tenaws, fix is live in 1.0.15

Thanks so much for the review! And especially for pointing out the issue! That is super useful and will be addressed ASAP. You can expect the fix in a few days with the next version.

### 5/5 — Best Free RSVP App

*2026-05-01, version 1.0.12*

Edit: As a preamble to my original review, updating to say that the dev released an update that adds the ability to freely "seek" through books using the progress bar, and it even has an undo button to jump back to your last position. This was released within 24 hours of my original review, so whether this was already a planned update or was immediately prioritised based on user feedback, I'm impressed either way. Revised review from 4 to 5 stars 🤩 Thanks dev!

This app is far and away the best option if you're looking for a free, fully featured RSVP reader. It's apparent that the developer has considered quality of life features that readers might enjoy, like the option to play various soundscapes while reading. A key feature for me is the ability to see the full page of text when the RSVP playback is paused, which directly addresses the usual problem with RSVP as a delivery method: the inability to re-read specific words or passages for comprehension. The inclusion of free reading resources within the app is also a great idea, and in a perfect world, large ebook retailers like Kobo or Amazon would allow integration to their stores to maximise the available content.

From a usability perspective, some small changes could take this to a perfect app. For example, in a long book that doesn't have defined chapters, you cannot freely seek/scroll through the contents. I picked this app up to swap over from another, similar app, and coming into a 130,000 page book at the halfway point was painful because it meant tapping my way through the text preview, one paragraph at a time, until I got to where I needed to pick up from. This unfortunately makes it inconvenient to swap between Stasis and other options such as a physical copy or Kindle. Additionally, while the numerous visual themes are fantastic, the backgrounds are not fully sized on modern iPhone screens, meaning there is a harsh border at the top and bottom of the screen when reading. Neither of these are deal breakers, but a few feature updates and bug fixes would take this app from great to perfect.

I hope if the developer wants to move to a paid model in the future, that they will consider making this a one-time purchase, as I would certainly pay an admission fee, but one of the unqiue benefits currently is that there is no subscription required.

All in all, highly recommend if you're wanting to try out RSVP for reading, this is definitely your best option for dipping your toes in.

### 5/5 — Wonderful FREE RSVP tool!

*2026-04-29*

Like other reviewers, I’m also incredibly appreciative of this very well done RSVP app. It has very well thought out features and UI. I look forward to spending more time with it. Please add landscape support!

**Developer response:** [Update] Hello, QqrqQ! The Landscape mode has arrived! [May13, 2026]

Thank you so much for the kind review! Regarding landscape support, we’re always looking at ways to evolve the app and appreciate you sharing what you'd like to see.

### 5/5 — thanks

*2026-04-25*

similar to others thanks for making this free, are you accepting donations and is the project open source?

**Developer response:** Hi xAlzo! It is not open source yet, but it may become so in the future. Regarding donation, it would be great if you can redirect it toward humanitarian efforts like United24 or the Come Back Alive foundation. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and for being part of the journey!

### 5/5 — Like it❤️

*2026-04-13, version 1.0.8*

I like the interface — I’ve already read half the book, and I’m really enjoying reading on this app. It feels a bit unusual at first, but you get used to it, and it really draws you in.

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2026-04-07*

Thank you for this free RSVP reader app! I love zooming through text while still understanding it 😆 Very nicely made and, so far, entirely free! Now I just need a way to reset my progress on things I've read so that I can easily re-read them.

**Developer response:** Update: Hey BlondeMike7, with the latest version you should be able to easily navigate through the book using progress bar. Hope you'll enjoy. [May/2/2026]

Thanks a lot — really glad you’re enjoying the app!

For books, you can usually use the table of contents at the top center to jump to any chapter, which can help with re-reading. For regular pasted texts, though, there isn’t currently a way to reset progress yet. That’s a good suggestion, and we’ll look into the best way to add it. Thanks for the feedback!

### 4/5 — Love it- Could be better!

*2026-05-29*

Today is the first day of me using the app. I like it quite a bit so far- but as someone who’s read ebooks before, it’s quite time consuming to find my way to where I was. If there was some feature like a word search or a novel page browser so I could find where I left off, it would get 5 stars from me. Please, don’t ever include some stupid micro transactions. I would pay a couple bucks for the app but no micro transactions.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Actually, the Search feature just arrived in the latest version! You can find it right behind the Table of Contents icon on the reader screen. If that is what you were looking for, please consider that 5th ⭐!

### 4/5 — Very impressive…

*2026-05-14*

…but would be even better if adapted for iPad. That’s where I do all my reading.

**Developer response:** [Update] Solipsister, iPad support has arrived! Please check the latest version. Hope you'll enjoy it. [May29, 2026]
Thanks for the feedback, Solipsister! iPad optimization is already in our backlog. We’ll be working hard to earn that 5th star! :)

### 4/5 — Good but could be better.

*2026-05-12*

I like this a lot but I have a few suggestions: I wish it had a hold to play or hold to pause option instead of tap to pause and play.

It would be cool if you can hold to pause and then scroll up and to go to rewind and then swipe side to side to adjust wpm

I also like the idea of hold to play because it means your thumb is on the word. Because it’s an intentional action that makes it so it requires your attention.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review, Lenle! This is a very interesting idea. We will definitely consider it as a feature; however, it would require careful testing from various UX angles.

Implementing this could bring its own challenges, such as thumb fatigue, accidental lifts, or conflicts with existing gestures. That said, it seems like a great fit for short, focused sessions.

Thanks again - feedback like this is super valuable!

### 4/5 — Update is great

*2026-04-30*

Latest update solves the progress bar problem that I had. Now, it only needs a search feature to jump to specific words/phrases.

**Developer response:** [Update] Hey wallwire4716, Search feature just arrived in latest version! Give it a try! [Jun2, 2026]

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear the bar hasn't been intuitive for you. Currently, it serves as a progress indicator, and we are working hard to make it fully draggable—we want to ensure the experience is smooth and precise before we roll it out!

In the meantime, you can navigate by using the Table of Contents or by tapping on specific words. Also, in our latest version, tapping directly on the progress bar now opens the Table of Contents for quicker access (provided the book has one).

We’re committed to making navigation even better. If these tips help you enjoy the app more, we’d love for you to consider updating your rating. Thanks for your review! Happy reading!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-08-17*

Great design, intuitive interface and on top of that it is free.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-10*

Love the app. The UX is almost perfect. First app like this that is doable for ebooks. Just have a few small issues that I think would make a little more usable. It would be great if long words showed on the screen a little longer. Especially in fantasy novels a new name just flashes across and you don’t have time to absorb it. Second, it seems like it doesn’t detect chapter breaks but it could be the book I’m reading. But there should be some sort of pause or something so you know it’s a new scene. Also long dashes cause multiple words on the screen at the same time and “…” after a word shows each dot as a separate word.

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot for the review! Such feedback is especially valuable! Regarding the pause on chapters, plz double-check that you have this “Chapter announcement” ON in settings(it should be by default), it would pause on every chapter present in Table of contents. If it is already ON, then it must be an issue with how we parse it. We improve it continuously but it is a painstaking process, considering the amount of different corner cases. Especially for PDFs. And that is why your feedback is especially helpful, thx again!

### 5/5 — exactly what im looking for

*2026-08-01*

lots of other apps doing similar things but blocked behind paywalls. this app has everything i could ever want, color customization, intuitive UI, and so much more while also being free ! 10/10 would recommend

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review, and happy you are enjoying it! :)
More features to come!

### 5/5 — Needs one thing

*2026-07-13*

I love this app, it’s so well thought out. All I need is a gesture that can rewind. Thank you so much for sharing this app

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! And thanks for the feature idea. Have a feeling you’ll see it soon :)

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for

*2026-05-21*

Well done, amazing app! Thank you for giving so much value for free ❤️

**Developer response:** Thank you! :) Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Great speed reading app with a clean design

*2026-05-19*

Stasis: RSVP Speed Reader does exactly what it promises—and does it really well. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, with a variety of nicely designed themes that make reading comfortable and enjoyable.

The app feels smooth, focused, and actually fun to use, which is not something you can say about every speed reading tool. On top of that, it’s completely free, which makes it an easy recommendation.

If you’re looking to improve your reading speed without dealing with a cluttered or complicated app, this is definitely worth trying

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Happy to hear that you are enjoying the app :)

## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2026-05-17*

Amazing app, super helpful, fully free and even with a beautiful design. Thank you!

**Developer response:** Thank you :) for taking your time to write this review. There are more cool features to come!

### 5/5 — This is the one

*2026-05-13*

Someone doing the world good with not only a free RSVP but the highest quality one out there! Thank you so much!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the review! It’s incredibly motivating to hear you're enjoying the app. :)
Just a heads-up: there is a "Ghost words" feature coming soon in landscape mode. You should definitely give it a try!
Not for everyone, but for me personally it was game changer. Boosted speed and comprehension significantly.

### 5/5 — Incredible - a few suggestions

*2026-05-12*

Amazingly designed, what an awesome app. A couple things that could be fixed/added:
- on an epub, some words are mashed together when a new line is made without a space after the previous word
- a table of contents feature for epubs

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot for the review, itsethanol! I have to admit, text formatting for the RSVP format is challenging - especially for PDFs - and there are a ton of corner cases to address. That makes your feedback even more valuable!

We are already investigating the 'mashed words' issue. Regarding the TOC: this feature is available for both EPUB and PDF. If you don't see it (top center), it means either the file doesn’t have one or a bug has slipped through.

I'm sorry to take up more of your time, but it would be super helpful if you could share more details (book name/link would be great) so we can pin down the particular book and test it. You can do so here:

### 5/5 — Best App to start into RSVP Reading

*2026-05-11*

I first came across RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) via @johndecebal on Instagram who built a mobile RSVP reader from a waveshare board. I was fascinated by the concept and searched for an app to try this technique without having to built the unit myself. I am totally amazed by the simplicity with which Stasis enables comfortable RSVP reading. I love the UI and that you can customize the colors to your needs. I think importing ePubs without DRM is very easy and I like the integration of the Gutenberg library. It is also very cool to see your reading statistics. It seems that the developer tries to constantly improve the app, which I love to see. The fact that the app is totally free, makes it all the more impressive. I can highly recommend to just try it out.
@Oleksandr Iatsenko I would love to see the ghost word feature that John Decebal introduced on his channel in Stasis as well. I think in combination with a landscape mode it would benefit the reading experience even more. Thank you for creating Stasis!

**Developer response:** [Update] Hey ha.jannis! Happy to announce that Ghost words feature in landscape mode has arrived. Give it a try! [May18, 2026]
Thanks for the feedback and especially for the useful insights, ha.jannis! Reviews like this are especially touching.

I'm happy to share that landscape mode has just arrived in the latest version. Try it out - I hope you enjoy it!

Regarding the ghost (or rather 'phantom,' if I'm recalling John’s video correctly) words: I believe this feature will be arriving soon as well. :)

Have a great reading experience!
