## What is Stats for Fun?

Which is easier to roll, a 6 or a 1? Why does the fair owner always win? What does a positive test really mean? Stats for Fun teaches kids aged 6 to 14 to think with data and chance by playing.

PREDICT, CHECK, UNDERSTAND
In every game you first say what you think will happen, then check it with real data or a simulation, and Tali the raccoon explains what happened. Getting it wrong is part of the game.

THE TOWN OF THOUSANDVILLE
Each district is a topic:
• The Newsroom: charts, frequencies, percentages and misleading graphs.
• The Market: mode, median and mean, and which one to use.
• The Stadium: spread and comparing groups.
• The Fair: probability, simulations, the law of large numbers and why the lottery almost never pays.
• Town Hall: samples, bias and margin of error.
• The Laboratory and The Health Center: tables, medical tests, risks and false positives.
• The Observatory and Galton's Workshop: correlation, causation, the bell curve and much more for older kids.
The town grows with every idea you learn.

THE PARK (AGES 6 TO 9)
Sorting and counting, picture graphs, certain or impossible, which bag is better, and fair games.

MY LAB
Investigate your own questions: how much do we sleep at home? Which sport is most popular? How many baskets do I make out of 10? Collect your data, make the chart and draw conclusions.

REVIEW AT THE RIGHT TIME
The app remembers what is hard and brings it back at the right moment. Each idea is practiced with different stories, so it really sinks in.

FOR FAMILIES AND TEACHERS
• Several profiles on the same device.
• Adult area: which ideas are mastered and which mistakes keep coming back.
• Classroom mode: teachers collect anonymous results from the class with no network and no accounts.

ALSO
• English and Spanish, for iPhone and iPad, with VoiceOver and large text.
• No ads, no accounts, no internet connection and no data collected.
• Everything is included except Stats for Fun Family, a one-time purchase that unlocks The Park and My lab, behind a question for adults.
