## What is Status Watch?

Status Watch keeps important phone status visible on your wrist.

Open the watch app or add a complication to your watch face to check phone battery level, charging state, Low Power Mode, network status, Low Data Mode, thermal state, and the freshness of the last update. The companion phone app can send updates manually, and Status Watch also refreshes key status changes while the app is running.

Choose which details appear in the complication so your watch face shows the information you care about most. Status Watch also shows watch battery level in complications, making it easier to keep an eye on both paired devices at a glance.

Status Watch is designed as a focused utility. It does not require an account, does not use a backend service, does not include analytics, and does not sync your status data to cloud services. Status data stays local and is transferred only between your paired phone and watch.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-28

Choose how current your status readings should be.

The new Status Freshness setting offers Power Saver, Balanced, and Most Current options. Change it from either app, and your preference stays synced across paired devices and guides app and complication refresh timing.

More frequent checks may use more battery. Background timing still depends on connectivity, power conditions, and when the system allows Status Watch to run.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-26

Refresh from Apple Watch is more reliable after Status Watch has been running for a long time.

If the live connection to iPhone gets stuck or is not immediately reachable, the watch app now recovers and queues a refresh request instead of silently staying on an old battery reading.

As before, delivery still depends on device connectivity, power settings, and when iOS and watchOS allow background communication to run.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-14

Phone battery readings now stay fresher on Apple Watch.

Opening or returning to Status Watch automatically checks for the latest status from your paired iPhone. Complications can also refresh more reliably in the background, reducing cases where battery information remains several hours out of date.

Background updates still depend on device connectivity, availability, power settings, and when watchOS allows them to run.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-23

Status Watch is easier to read at a glance.

Battery symbols now better match the current charge level, recent updates show a clearer Updated less than 1m ago freshness label, and the watch app refreshes its own battery status when you open it or return to it.

Complications also get a cleaner corner gauge and smoother battery color styling, with reliability improvements that help status updates stay current.

What's New in Version 1.1:

Status Watch now does a better job keeping your watch up to date.

The app can refresh status in the background when iOS allows it, and the watch app can request a fresh phone status when you open it. Freshness and delivery details are also clearer, so it is easier to tell when the status on your watch was last updated.
