### 4/5 — Great functionality, a bit tough on my battery

I really like this app. It has a bit of a learning curve, but the more I learn how to use it, the more I appreciate it as a music tool.

Unfortunately the app seems to eat through my battery fairly quickly and my iPad gets pretty hot, even when I'm not moving anything and it is just sitting idle. Could be something caused by screen brightness, though. I heard a dark mode might be coming at some point, which could help with this.

I totally recommend the app and the provided in app purchases.

Regarding performance: there are no known optimization issues on our side, the app is designed to be efficient, and it does not run any background processes when idle.

What you’re experiencing could be related to other activity on the device (for example, another process running at the same time), or simply the fact that working with a bright white score means the screen stays fully lit, which can noticeably affect battery usage and heat. That said, we understand your concern, and we’re also planning to introduce a dark theme for the score in the future, which should help in such cases.

Hey there. I really like the app, I'm a trombone player. But, this is the only thing that matters. Make trombone free please. The other composing apps are hard to use, and I've been wasting 20% of my storage just to look at apps, and so far, this app looks cool. Please make trombone free and I will rate this app a 4 or 5, and I will be able to use this app. Thank you!

BUG report: the icon isn’t appearing correctly when dark mode is enabled.

Please, bring some features:

1) DARK PAPER: Black paper and white or light gray sheet. It’ll be healthy for our eyes;

2) DARK ICON: bring support to the iOS 18 dark and tinted icons. A black background with the orange symbol;

3) WIDGETS: bring some widgets to access more quickly our files, create a new document;

1) Dark mode for scores – support for dark pages in sheet music will be added in one of the upcoming updates.
2) App icon appearance – we’re aware of the issue with the dark appearance of the app icon, and this will be fixed in the upcoming Staventabs 6.5.1 update, which will be released in a couple of days.
3) Widgets idea – thank you for the fantastic suggestion of adding widgets for quick access to recent files and fast document creation. We’ll definitely take this idea into consideration for future updates!

Для того, чтобы поместить текст снизу:
1. Откройте редактор текущего инструмента, используя кнопку с названием инструмента, расположенную в нижней панели
2. Перейдите к Формам нотаций нужного трека
3. Нажмите на кнопку с изображением карандаша, расположенную справа снизу
4. Потяните за ячейку Слова и переместите ее под Нотный стан
5. Нажмите кнопку Готово

Сделайте, чтобы выделенная область, которая при нажатии кнопки «Воспроизводить, повторять выделенную область по кругу», при нажатии кнопки «Воспроизвести с начала», воспроизводила не с начала композиции, а с начала выделенной области. Это будет полезно тем, кто учится играть композицию.

1) После того, как Вы открыли gp5 файл для просмотра, нажмите на кнопку с изображением карандаша в правом нижнем углу. Будет создан файл snt в той же папке, где находится исходный файл.

Для того, чтобы поменять длительность ноты, выберите ноту и нажмите на кнопку с изображением длительности ноты в левом нижнем углу. В открывшейся панели выберите нужную длительность. Затем удалите лигу, используя соответствующую кнопку на левой панели. Далее выберите следующую ноту и нажмите второй раз по прямоугольнику выделения. Справа появится панель с действиями, в ней нажмите на кнопку с изображением корзины, чтобы удалить ноту.

Для того, чтобы скрыть табулатуру, перейдите в редактор инструмента. Для этого нажмите на имя инструмента на панели статуса внизу. В редакторе инструмента во вкладке Треки нажмите на кнопку “Формы нотаций”. В открывшемся виде нажмите на значок глаза, расположенный рядом с надписью “Табулатура”. После этого, нажмите на кнопку “Готово”.

Обращаем Ваше внимание, что возможность конвертации gp5 файла в snt доступна во встроенной покупке “Безграничные проекты”.

2) К сожалению, мы не можем повторить проблему с невозможностью загрузки цены в окне покупки. Мы советуем Вам перезагрузить устройство и попробовать снова открыть это окно в приложении. Скорее всего проблема с загрузкой данных на стороне сервера Apple и она носит временный характер. Если проблема сохраняется, то, пожалуйста, напишите нам на почту: support@staventabs.com.

I loved this app so much, since it helped me to write music. But sometime last month, it reset all of my in-app purchases and now I can’t access the folders which stored some of my most important songs. It would have been 5 stars if the in-app purchase I made was still there.

I’m a paid user. This app is a nightmare. I just lost 80% of my progress on a music score I spent hours on. I even tried to manually "Export to File" several times during the process, but the exported files only contained old data from nearly an hour ago. The app claims to save, but it doesn't. There is absolutely no reliable backup system or history recovery. If you value your time and your music, STAY AWAY. This is the most unstable notation app I've ever used.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really sorry to hear about this experience, we completely understand how frustrating and stressful it is to lose work like that.

The app includes an autosave system that saves the project after every 5 actions, so this behavior is definitely not expected. From what you describe, one possible reason could be that the file is being edited in a location without proper write access (for example, some third-party cloud storage providers). In such cases, changes may appear to be saved, but are not actually written to the file correctly. It’s also possible that the data was lost due to sync issues on the cloud provider’s side.

We’d really appreciate it if you could contact us at support@staventabs.com with more details about your situation. This will help us investigate the issue as quickly as possible and make sure you can use the app reliably going forward.

I paid $9.99 for the ability to write bluegrass banjo tabs.  There is no way to adjust the tuning on their “strings” and their “strings” have only 4 strings (a bluegrass banjo has 5 strings).  Also, they wanted me to pay an additional $9.99 for the ability to have more than 3 projects.  

I look forward to a response from the developer telling me that I missed the documentation somewhere and I can do what I purchased it for.  In that case I will change my review.

The latest update has broken all my gp files that I imported, even ones that worked before. I use this app for music lessons and ipwill need to find another one to use that I can rely on.

Отличный редактор! Но дочь-флейтистка велела передать пламенный привет: обнаружить флейту в разделе «Дудочки» рядом с окаринами и бутылками — это, конечно, неожиданный культурный опыт :)

Флейта сейчас находится в разделе «Дудочки», потому что мы следуем классификации General MIDI. Но вы абсолютно правы: в будущем мы планируем переработать группировку инструментов, чтобы она была более интуитивной.

Но, добавьте сохранение партитуры. Автосохранение не всегда четко работает, часто не сохраняет половину того, что написал.

Очень рад что появилась возможность писать ноты на iPad, приложение интуитивно понятно. Спасибо разработчикам. Подскажите как редактировать тактовую черту? Если использовать форшлаг то ноты наслаиваются друг на друга.

К сожалению, в приложении нет возможности переноса тактовой черты. Настройка типа тактовой черты будет добавлена в ближайшем обновлении Staventabs 6.3.

Вы можете указать количество тактов на строку в настройках Макета и расставить переносы строк вручную, используя самую нижнюю кнопку со схематическим изображением переноса на левой панели.

I’m using this to transcribe music that i love, and it’s been a delightful experience. It has everything I ever needed to become a complete musician. Developer is generous, making this app for free and the in-app purchase is worth upgrading for, the support is amazing and it’s not a subscription based app! 
Developer listened to the users and improved  from time to time. I cannot recommend this enough to everyone, to every level of artists. I am forever thankful for the existence of Staventabs in my musical journey. Thank you.

Искала редактор партитур для фортепиано, до Stenentabs успела попробовать два других сервиса. На Steventabs наткнулась случайно и он их превзошел по удобству работы на айпаде. По опциям в целом плюс-минус то же, но интерфейс куда дружественнее, логика действий проще. Особенно по корректировке партитуры где-нибудь в середине (после изменения ноты в готовом такте последующие не ломаются, как у некоторых).

Разработчику огромная любовь и благодарность!
Немного озадачилась тем, что экспорт в pdf в бесплатную версию не входит, но это тот редкий случай, когда я действительно в восторге от продукта. Поэтому готова платить. 
Рекоменд! И надеюсь, что приложение еще долго будет получать поддержку.

Finally I found this app that actually does what everyone would expect from GP. I love GP8 on the PC but their iOS app is a joke. This not only fulfill this role it has actually an surprisingly fresh and clean and intuitive design. I’m surprised that this app is very unknown yet already in the AppStore so many years. It’s truly an hidden treasure!

Please keep up the great work!!

Only bummers so far that I found: Tracks downloaded from Songsterr (gp Format) always have every instrument as the default nylon guitar even though I purchased the instrument package. Also no down/upstroke difference on guitar?

App Works just fine but i would see welcome new functions for example changing groups of three eight rests into one quater dot (this could happen wihout adding pauses and manualny deleting previous one. Also if there would be function of hand writing (feature for iPad) that would be helpful. Afterall App is worth its prize.
