However, very confusing, usually problems technically. Not well organized. Adds integrated with hotels. Hope it will be improved. **Developer response:** Sorry for the confusion. Don’t bother setting up the $10 minimum account balance, it’s trash. ### 1/5 — Horrible, requiring a minimum balance forever *2026-07-18* What happens when I return my electric rental car? I just needed to charge the car once, then return it. This app is for hotel charging stations so they must know it’s likely you’re driving a rental car. But they will forever require you to keep $10 in the account with no obvious way to get your money back if you no longer need the service. Booo!!! ### 1/5 — Pure, concentrated evil *2025-03-23* After you go through 20 pages of signups and manually entering credit card credentials and email and phone in the 2025 world of Apple Pay, you find out the hotel you booked specifically for the free EV charging wants 0.45cents per kilowatt hour, and it can only be used from 8pm-8am. Thank god there’s a supercharger right next door. This is burning my goodwill towards holiday inn as well. I hate being lied to and nickel and dimed ### 1/5 — Didn’t work *2024-12-03* Didn’t work now I have $10 in a useless network. ### 1/5 — Privacy policy a joke *2024-05-10* I read through the privacy policy and basically you are asked to allow this company to share or sell all your information to anyone for any purpose, even listing a sweepstakes. I will charge elsewhere. Deleted. ### 1/5 — The online site is much better *2024-04-05* I was excited today to see an app for this important car travel feature for us EV owners, but after I downloaded it and set it up it doesn’t show me hotels in my state that have chargers, locations where I know they exist. Kind of defeats the purpose of using the app if you can’t location a hotel with charging stations. ### 1/5 — Avoid if possible *2023-11-20* Prepaying stayncharge is required to pay to use their chargers. I hate prepaying an amount that I don’t know if I’ll use all of. And since it seems like every charger needs it’s own app who knows if I’ll ever use the money I have to load onto this account. Absolutely scammy and idiotic. **Developer response:** We are sorry that you did not like the wallet system. We use a wallet system like many apps for security reasons. Yes, it requires that you put money into the account upfront but you can refund any unused balance with a single click. Yes, many charging networks require their own mobile apps. We are working with several companies to integrate so that you can interchange apps. We currently work with ChargeHub to integrate with other networks to help with needing so many apps for EV charging. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2023-08-24* Took my money from my card and shows a balance of $0.00 with no way of reporting a problem and now I can’t charge my car. Pure garbage **Developer response:** We are sorry to hear of your problem with the funds not showing in your account. There is a help desk available 24/7 that would have helped you with this issue. The number is in the mobile app and there is also a "report an issue" button in the app. Either way we would have been able to find out what happened with your charges. We reviewed this time frame and the only thing we found was a transaction that did not actually go through. We could not find where we collected any money or were contacted by someone regarding this incident. If we would have addressed any issues immediately. ### 1/5 — Big Fat F *2023-03-01* I can fly and navigate my airplane to numerous states here in the USA and easily find AVgas but Stay-N-Charge does NOTHING in helping me find hotels ANYWHERE in order to get a room and charge my EV. You select a city and it can’t find, locate, reveal anything. **Developer response:** his new version of our app allows for the driver to control the chargers through the app as well. When launching the new app we have to migrate the existing stations and charging information and are working on that. We apologize for the stations not showing up properly on the map. We are working to populate the map with the locations. In the interim, you can go to Stay-N-Charge in your browser to find locations. ### 1/5 — Is this working? *2022-12-14* The map shows me no charging locations anywhere. **Developer response:** This new version of our app allows for the driver to control the chargers through the app as well. In the interim, you can go to Stay-N-Charge in your browser to find locations. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — What’s not to like about free charging *2025-11-29* Signup is fine, you can skip the wallet steps if you want so not sure what people are complaining about. If you are getting charged by the app it’s due to your hotels choices so not the apps fault. My hotel was free to charge ### 5/5 — Value add service *2025-06-08* After a few reasonable and expected steps we set up an account in a few minutes. Charged overnight for FREE and we are ready to on with our trip without sitting at a charging station for an hour+. Time is money and gold on vacation. We will be back to this property and will look for similar properties before we book in the future. ### 5/5 — Works like it’s supposed to *2024-10-08* Charged up at the Prospector Gambling Hall. App and charger worked as advertised. Even the refund button after my sessions were complete was flawless. ### 5/5 — Super easy and great support *2023-12-22* Once I created my account it’s super easy to use the network. They were very helpful getting my account set up when I called in. They made sure everything got working and my car started charging. Good start but a work in progress ### 2/5 — Bad UX *2025-09-29* Way too much work to install app, set up account, add payment source, and start charging. They should allow credit card or Apple/Google tap to pay at the station, or allow interop with real charge networks like ChargePoint. Once installed, it is not obvious finding your current charging session. No notifications on when or why charging was stopped. Only prepay in $10 increments unless you give them your credit card number.
