The app kept saying “uploading document” and nothing else upon check in. The Airbnb host ended up having to remotely unlock me from his side of things. If they fixed that bug then maybe everything would be fine. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Any hostel which uses this app should be banned from opening *2026-07-06* The app doesn’t work. At all. Multiple refreshes, different WiFi networks, closing and opening, all result in a plain white screen which goes to an error if you tab out. TERRIBLE APP. DO NOT STAY AT ANY HOSTEL THAT FORCES YOU TO USE THIS. RATE THEM ALL ONE STAR. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2026-04-04* The app is simple but buggy and glitchy, it takes forever to open doors you have to repeatedly close the app and open it back up to do anything, the software developers need to do some updating ### 1/5 — Avoid *2025-01-27* This app crashed my iPhone after using for an Airbnb check in. Apparently issues with the app are well known because the front desk staff immediately knew what was wrong when I went to them for assistance. It’s inconvenient, and if I have poor service it does not work. It makes traveling stressful and annoying, especially when traveling abroad. ### 1/5 — If I could give this no stars, I would. *2024-07-27* This is one of the worst apps I have had the misfortune of using. The app is not consistent when trying to open doors. Not with a strong WiFi system or even a strong data signal. Sometimes you can’t even get into the building and have to rely on a physical key. Isn’t the purpose of an app to open doors to avoid using a physical key? I wouldn’t wish this app system on my worst enemy. ### 1/5 — Absolute DO NOT PURCHASE ! *2024-04-19* My husband and I had to use this at an AirBnb we were staying at. Once you enter the code , you have a second or two to grab the knob and turn. Wait for it to tell you it’s open and to turn the knob and it has already relocked. We had problems totally sober. Imagine trying this after a few drinks. our host tells us there is absolutely no way to increase the time to enter! Without this capability, it’s total rubbish. That is a shame as otherwise it is brilliant. ### 1/5 — doesnt work *2024-03-26* the app would not let me be added to open the hotel room that my partner booked for us. i was asked a key code that they did not provide for us. ### 1/5 — Frequent Errors *2024-02-28* Would constantly close access to certain rooms ### 1/5 — App is acceptable, system is terrible *2023-07-12* The app is not difficult to use; just know you need to have all of the passports and all the people who want keys to be physically present for photographs by the app before beginning. The associated hardware, however, is beyond terrible, making the system as a whole frustrating. Both the building and apartment locks worked the first day. On the second day it locked us out of the apartment on a 105° day. The owner tried to override it remotely, but it would not respond to him either, although the app incorrectly claimed it was open. We were left standing in the sun until the owner could dispatch someone to drive over and physically let us in with a real key. He gave us physical keys to use after that. I am an engineer (Ph.D. from MIT), and the quality of one of the two locking systems we used was of laughable quality. Surprisingly, it was the better-constructed software lock that failed to work. Perhaps it failed because of the hot weather. Regardless, the expensive system failed, and the lack of helpful feedback from the app (“Opened!” when in fact locked) does not help.
