## What is Steady?

Steady is a metronome for practice and for the stage, with a tuner and a drone built in. Every click is played by the phone's audio engine, never by a screen timer, so it keeps time even with the screen off.

THE METRONOME (FREE)
• Tempo 20 to 300 BPM: type it, step it, hold − or +, or tap along.
• 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8. Tap any beat to accent it.
• Beats, eighths, triplets or sixteenths.
• Six sounds, including a spoken count, and a count-in.
• A big beat display you can read from across the room.
• Headphone delay calibration, so the beat on screen lines up with what you hear, even through Bluetooth.
• A chromatic tuner, A4 from 415 to 466 Hz, in sharps or flats.
• Save up to 5 songs with their tempo and meter.

TRAINERS (PRO)
• Speed up: one tap and the tempo rises every few bars, up to a target and back down if you like.
• Gap click: the click drops out for 1, 2, 4 or 8 bars, and you keep the time.
• Random mute and fewer clicks, to test your own time.
• Subdivision ladder: beats, eighths, triplets, sixteenths, bar by bar.

RHYTHM (PRO)
• Odd and mixed meters with groupings, like 7/8 as 2+2+3.
• Soft and silent beats, swing, dotted and quintuplet cells.
• Polyrhythms from 2 to 7 against the beat.

PRACTICE AND GIGS (PRO)
• Exercises that start at the tempo you reached last time, with a tempo chart.
• Daily routines that move from exercise to exercise by themselves.
• A practice log with minutes per day and week, and your streak.
• Unlimited songs, setlists with Next and Previous, and song maps for tempo and meter changes inside a song.
• Share a setlist with your band as a link or a file.

FEEL AND DRONE (PRO)
• Feel mode: the phone taps the beat, in your pocket, on a stand or with the sound off.
• Pocket mode: a black screen that ignores touches.
• A drone to tune and play against: one note, a fifth, an octave or a chord, in equal or just tuning, on a grand piano or four other sounds.
