The AI is not the best but gives a good grounding in the basic tactics. I’ve found a physical copy of the game for sale and will head out to get it for my game group next week. Steam is a slightly streamlined adaptation of the classic game Age of Steam. There is a very basic version and then the standard version which includes bidding for turn order and bonus actions. It’s a great little thinky game and you can get through a match pretty quick on the app against the AI. The puzzle changes each time you play as the cubes available change colours at set-up, requiring different long term and short term planning each game. The artwork looks identical to the tiles and boards in the board game from Mayfair. ### 3/5 — Pay again *2018-08-27, version 3.3.1* It’s a turn base game and can be interesting to play. The AI is strong so you must strategize. There was no download problem. Gave three stars as after paying to get the game you have to pay additional money to get maps. That annoyed me. If it was free and you pay to get maps, that’s fine but when you pay upfront for a game, I expect no additional costs ### 4/5 — Though game *2018-07-07, version 3.3.1* This is one of those games you really have to pay attention while playing. I had to search for tips on the internet how to successfully win or be at least competitive against the lowest Computer players. But surprisingly it was really enjoyable once I learned how to play. I must admit the tutorial does need some work as I had to watch a YouTube video on how to play the game. But once I did watch the video, I picked up the game very quickly and had fun playing against the computer. De tous mes jeux sur plateau, steam est de loin mon préféré, par sa richesse et les possibilités tactiques et stratégiques qu'il recèle. Steam est une adaptation très fidèle du jeu de plateau, tant par le graphisme que par la mécanique. On y retrouve a l'identique les deux plateaux de jeu, et l'intégralité des règles avancées (enchères pour l'ordre du tour, choix des personnages, niveaux de locomotives, et le choix et cornélien entre rembourser ses emprunts ou gagner des points de victoire ! L'interface sur iPad est très réussi et facile a utiliser, ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas dans les adaptations de jeux de plateau. Bref, Steam est devenu mon jeu de train préféré sur tablette aussi, même si j'aime toujours "les Aventurieers du Rail" ou, dans un autre domaine, "Puerto Rico" ou ".
