## What is Steam?

Steam calculates the thermodynamic and transport properties of water and steam for subcooled, saturated, two-phase, superheated, and supercritical conditions. Fast, accurate, and comprehensive.

Three formulations are included for property calculations:
- IAPWS Industrial Formulation 1997 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Water and Steam (IF97)
- IAPWS Formulation 1995 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Ordinary Water Substance for General and Scientific Use (SF95)
- 1967 IFC-Formulation for Industrial Use (IFC-67)

Although the 1997 industrial formulation has been available for almost 30 years, the 1967 industrial formulation, commonly known as the ASME steam tables, is still widely used in some industries.

Switch instantly between imperial (psia, F, Btu/lbm, etc.) or metric (kPa, C, kJ/kg, etc.) engineering units. Customize those sets of units for your needs. With just one tap, convert calculated outputs from one set of units to the other. A third set of units can be defined, and a units conversion calculator is also provided.

Save calculations to review later or to compare differences between the formulations.

On the settings tab, change the number of significant digits in the output, customize the engineering units, modify the font size, and select the theme for the app.

p,s - pressure and specific entropy 
h,s - specific enthalpy and specific entropy
p,x - pressure and steam quality (vapor fraction)

As a senior engineer who relies on steam tables, I find this the most useful app on the iPhone--and that says a lot. Haven't run into innacuracy in u yet, but I don't use u much anyway.  I recommend it highly.

Please update this app to include the amount of Superheat, yes I can subtract it myself but why ? It's in the Steam Tables book and should be in here too. Other than that a great app, thanks.

The program does not calculate internal energy correctly, at least for superheated steam.  Other parameters seem to be OK.  The web version appears to give the correct values, but the ipod/iphone app does not.  Please correct and upload an update.
