### 1/5 — How do I give this zero stars

*2025-10-18, version 2.4.1*

I’ll join the choir. The app is absolute trash!

### 1/5 — Hello…it’s 2024

*2025-10-02, version 2.4.1*

Hello Mr. Steam, You seem to be perfectly comfortable with selling a product that simply does not work for several years. While the steam machine is excellent, the app and connectivity are defective and useless. How about fixing it?

This is a well known situation. My authorized installer warned me “the app doesn’t work at all and it’s been that way for years”.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-08-28, version 2.4.1*

This app is so bad and has so many poor reviews for such a long time that I actually consider it a poor reflection on Apple for even allowing it in the app store.

### 1/5 — Harry

*2025-07-17, version 2.4.1*

Terrible app. Looks like it was designed by your child, but with less functionality. I’m surprised how poor this is relative to how expensive this unit is.

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE

*2025-06-20, version 2.4.1*

HORRIBLE

### 1/5 — Not reliable

*2025-06-03, version 2.4.1*

Wish I knew who to contact - never works????

### 1/5 — App Loses Connection

*2025-05-30, version 2.4.1*

App consistently loses connection caused the steam shower to shut off

### 1/5 — Garbage!

*2025-05-29, version 2.4.1*

This is the worst implementation possible. The app almost never connects with the unit and when it does I have to force quit the app and reopen it for it to work. How did the app and required hardware make it past quality control???

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-05-16, version 2.4.1*

Just does not work at all

### 1/5 — Worse App and Steam System

*2025-05-03, version 2.4.1*

My dream unit arrived poorly assembled and non functioning. Got a part shipped. Next, attempted to use this app. Could not set it up. Won’t allow saving password. App quality is like a mentally handicapped high school intern made it by randomly hitting keys on his keyboard.

The wireless connection is very poor. Uses Ethernet.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-04-02, version 2.4.0*

Read all the previous reviews and they pretty much sum it up. I attempted to troubleshoot with customer support with no luck. This unit will be returned. Mr. Steam should not sell the unit.

### 1/5 — Completely useless

*2025-04-02, version 2.4.0*

This has to be one of the most frustrating apps and software-to-hardware integrations I’ve ever used. The promise of being able to turn on your steam system wirelessly is incredibly appealing—but it rarely delivers. Come on, guys—you’ve built a great product. Let’s bring the technology up to the same standard and make it reliable in today’s connected world.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-04-01, version 2.4.0*

I love my steam machine. But this app is the worst. Why even bother offering one if it’s this bad. Surely they can produce something even remotely better than this. Come Mr. Steam. Make it happen.

### 1/5 — Seriously the worst app ever created

*2025-02-27, version 2.2.2*

When it worked, it worked about a third of the time. The rest of the time the temperature would lock itself in at 220 or the timer wouldn’t move past 0. Then it just stopped working completely: “server unreachable”. Just a complete waste of time and money

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2025-02-26, version 2.2.2*

My actual Mr Steam unit works fine when used manually but this app is completely useless. I actually can’t believe that in 2025 this is the best thing the company came up with. Honestly, had I known how bad this app was I would’ve seriously considered another company I will be telling everyone who asks me about my Steam unit how horrible this app is. Here are some tips if someone from the company reads these reviews. Which I highly doubt.

1. It should actually work

2. There should be actual feedback when you push an icon whether by haptic or at least the icon should highlight.

3. It should integrate with the touchscreen display screen/monitor that is in the shower and you should be able to control the apps and settings from the app. Example, music volume, track skipping etc.

4. There should be access to more apps than just the preloaded ones. For the amount of money the entertainment and user experience is abysmal.

Please do better

### 1/5 — Server is unreacheable

*2025-02-25, version 2.2.2*

App has not worked for months if not years. Apple should take this down it gives the illusion this fraudulent company Mr Steam has an app. Try clicking on app support. Why does Apple allow this to exist?

### 1/5 — Stupid

*2025-01-27, version 2.2.2*

Completely worthless

### 1/5 — This app is lousy

*2025-01-19, version 2.2.2*

Rarely have I come across such a poor app. It just doesn’t work half the time - or more! Awful.

### 1/5 — New record?

*2025-01-08, version 2.2.2*

This has to be a record for one of the lowest ratings ever for a legitimate app. You would think that they would make some sort of an attempt to make this better. Not so! Much like their product.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terribleness abound

*2026-08-11, version 2.4.1*

This app can barely be classified as functional. Continually loses connection and will not stop loading

### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Open

*2026-08-01, version 2.4.1*

Terrible App

### 1/5 — The steam room is relaxing. The app is not!

*2026-08-01, version 2.4.1*

This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used.

Every time I open it, it spends a long time spinning while trying to connect to Wi-Fi. Once it finally gets past that, it makes me accept or decline the Terms & Conditions every single time I log in, which should never happen.

After that, it goes back to spinning before it finally loads the controls. If my phone goes to sleep for even a moment, the app becomes unresponsive, and I have to start the entire process all over again. Most of the time I have to force-close the app and reopen it just to have any chance of connecting.

It’s incredibly frustrating for what should be a simple remote control app. The steam system itself is great, but the app is unreliable, slow, and makes using the product far more difficult than it should be.

MrSteam needs to fix the endless loading, stop asking users to accept the Terms & Conditions every time, and make the app reconnect properly after the phone wakes up. Right now, the app seriously detracts from an otherwise excellent product.

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2026-07-01, version 2.4.1*

It’s very rare to find an app this bad! You can tell it’s old school when signing in, then it just gets worse! Nothing works. The company clearly doesn’t care about this functionality.

### 1/5 — App does not load

*2026-06-25, version 2.4.1*

Not much more to say

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-05-20, version 2.4.1*

Simply does not work. Can’t connect to their own hub no matter what.

### 1/5 — App

*2026-03-01, version 2.4.1*

It’s garbage. Steamer works well. The app shouldn’t be offered at all. I contacted support and all they wanted to do was blame the internet signal. My signal is great. The app is junk. Don’t sell it. Makes a good steamer look bad.

### 1/5 — Blake Stapleton

*2026-02-03, version 2.4.1*

If I could give this zero stars I would. It is literally as close to zero percent functional as could be. All this money spent on a steam unit that has no mobile connectivity. Absolute joke!

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2025-12-31, version 2.4.1*

This app never works and when it does the lag is way too long at that time you are better off using the local remote in the shower.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-12-29, version 2.4.1*

I wish I could give this app zero stars. I paid a fortune for this unit and the app is total trash. It can’t be that hard to create an app to enable WiFi with this thing. They need to start over and completely overhaul the app!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — User Errors

*2019-01-17, version 1.2.0*

I am wondering if the people with problems have the system installed properly. You must have the network components installed to the steam unit and to your router. The app is not feature rich but it functions as intended when properly installed.

### 4/5 — OK app. Could use bit more functionality.

*2019-04-29, version 2.0*

App turns steam on and off. Sets temp and duration. Could use some improvements such as:
1. Wonder how many people control more than one steam shower. Splash screen where do you select unit could be replaced by “settings” option where default or favorite remembered. I do not want to choose it each time. I start app
2. Lacks functionality like control of chroma steam or aroma steam
3. Could report current temperature in steamroom, so that I know that it’s ready

### 4/5 — Works

*2019-03-23, version 1.2.0*

But that is about it, was probably developed in 3 minutes and make sure you use the most left connector on the motherboard otherwise it will obviously not connect and wondering whether this is the reason for so many connection complaints

### 4/5 — Simple but sweet

*2019-01-31, version 1.2.0*

Not the most sophisticated app ever created, but certainly does the trick, since our steam room is outside this allows us to turn it on from the comfort of the house instead of making 2 trips. It would be nice to have access to all the features.... hint hint :)

### 4/5 — Works as advertised - more functionality please

*2018-02-09, version 1.1.0*

STEAMLINX works as advertised. Feature request would be able to control other functions including audio, aromatherapy and chroma therapy.

### 3/5 — Works with Alexa

*2025-05-12, version 2.4.1*

The setup was tricky with a known iOS18 bug they fixed, but it works fine after this. The native apps major weakness is only working while on the same WiFi network. No one needs a remote start from a room away, but turning on while coming back from the gym is a huge plus. They have a skill on Alexa that is really the only way to use this, but my main home hub is HomeKit, so I had to go buy an Alexa device JUST for this. Allowing the native app to perform this basic function instead of relying on Alexa (which limits customers) is an obvious needed enhancement.

### 3/5 — Needs simple improvements

*2022-09-09, version 2.1.9*

Make the app colorful - when I turn on the steamer change the power button color.

Give me the data that the wired screen shows - show me current temp, time remaining.

I like that I can control my steamer remotely. Even when not home to have it starting. I just need to make sure my transom and door is shut! Otherwise my whole room will fill w steam.

Close to getting a lot of things better but not there yet.

### 3/5 — Good but needs some work

*2020-05-03, version 2.0.2*

The app works just fine but an odd bug is that is always defaults to Celsius ; there is no way to have it default to Fahrenheit. This should be an easy fix but should be implemented!

### 3/5 — Just downloaded app

*2020-02-29, version 2.0.2*

Don’t open in night mode! It’ll appear as if the screen is all white and won’t be able to see we’ll at all. I’ve downloaded the app and its been circling for a bit. Make sure you plug into the wireless router and not the modem and are close to the antenna. The on and off work but I must admit, not very responsive. Too bad you couldn’t incorporate a calendar or clock function to turn on before you wake up. Other than that it works.

### 2/5 — Super basic and barely works

*2020-10-12, version 2.1.0*

This feels like an all lost opportunity for Mr. Steam. Turning the unit on works, but for me I have to push the On button three times. Otherwise it just flashes “on” temporarily and then says the steamer is turning off. I wouldn’t recommend buying the Steamlinx addon given how rudimentary it is and it’s lack of reliable features
