### 3/5 — In-app purchases do not unlock

*2026-04-07, version 1.0.4*

Game is great but all in app purchases do not unlock after purchase. The money goes through but an error code pops up and you will have to request a refund.

### 4/5 — Great game but some glitches

*2023-12-31, version 1.0.4*

This game is great. I was introduced to the flash version on PC in my childhood and this is not as good as that but close enough. As I was playing, I reached the point where I unlocked England and had to defend London. After that, I had to defend Birmingham and Manchester. After this, I had nothing to do, I was forced to grind for XP as I need level 9 for industrial center level three and I was only level 8. After I had beaten the challenge, the quest didnt disappear. It stayed there and let me farm XP. That is until I closed the app. Now there is a blank box in the spot the quest would be and a quest to get out of jail get clothes and get something else. The dialogue involves a naked old lady yelling “Touch Me”. It gives me 1000 XP if I complete it, but when I view it, it wont let me close the quest. Fix please.

### 3/5 — Bad engrish and too much grinding

*2022-05-03, version 1.0.4*

The engrish is hilariously bad and the game is very grindy, I often start the game several times a day just to collect the timers and let it play through old levels by itself just for experience

### 4/5 — Great game!

*2021-12-12, version 1.0.4*

This is a very good steampunk themed game which has only a slight, and big, problem. Once i went on and ALL my progress was gone.If you can fix that it would be great. Have a good day.

### 1/5 — seems fun but

*2021-09-15, version 1.0.4*

i’m the tutorial, i had just beaten the first level, and was told to upgrade. so i did. then it brought me to a screen telling me to click a box, but nothing happened when i did. tried leaving the game, but it brought me back to the same point. and i can’t access anything else

### 2/5 — Unplayable on iPads

*2021-08-19, version 1.0.4*

Cant see the entirety of the battlefield because screen is too tall. Huge design flaw.

### 1/5 — Won’t let you play unless you let them track you

*2021-08-18, version 1.0.4*

Sell your soul for a terrible tap time toilet. Your company and others are ruining the industry. Please stop making games.

### 1/5 — micro transaction trash

*2021-06-22, version 1.0.4*

make a decent game and charge me for the game. dont load it up with micro transaction garabage

### 1/5 — Too much

*2021-05-12, version 1.0.4*

There is far too much added to this game compared to the first one. Very difficult and confused my to navigate through all the additions to this platform.

### 1/5 — Greedy sequel

*2021-04-08, version 1.0.4*

I loved the first game for it’s casual and simplistic play style. This just is just your run of the mill base builder trying to flood you with micro transactions.

### 2/5 — Not well made.

*2021-03-31, version 1.0.4*

This game is not very well made.

* On iPhone the notch cuts off unit details in a fight.
* The placement of things on the screen leaves you having to be super careful or you’ll be grabbing the app at the bottom of the screen and flicking it around instead of moving a unit on the battle map.
* The art team seems unfamiliar with mobile games. Why am I trying to read size 6 font on screen where the only important thing is this text?
* I counted 6 different font sizes on the mission complete screen. That’s absurd.
* The loading screen duration seems extensive for how simplistic the game is and how short the early missions are. And, then the load to get back.

This is just sloppy. These are the first impressions and they don’t make me want to see what other novice mistakes were made with the art design and the level design and the storytelling. The audio is hard to notice and that’s a thing I look for (I play with headphones).

### 3/5 — If you like super long tutorials

*2021-02-14, version 1.0.4*

Then get this game. I lost count of how many missions I played before I got sick of the stupid tutorial. So I removed the game.

Could be a pretty cool game. But they just want to play the damned thing for you for the first 20 missions. So why play?

### 2/5 — Slow progress

*2021-01-10, version 1.0.4*

I guess I just don’t get it. Cool idea, decent graphics, but I get upgrade crystals so slowly that I feel like I’m doing something wrong. If I experiment with the turrets and build the wrong one, I don’t get my crystals back when I disassemble one. This means that it’s possible to come to an impassable progression wall, in which the enemies are too difficult to fight and the turrets are too expensive to upgrade. Also, using the laser, the fun and interactive weapon, costs 5 diamonds every time you use it, which prevents me from using it.

Anyways, just writing this review made me realize I’m going to delete the app.

### 1/5 — Just not fun

*2020-12-08, version 1.0.4*

I loved the first steampunk game for its simplicity, ability to play however much you want when you want and little very minor micro transactions, this game is almost a polar opposite of what the first game was. When I saw that the second steampunk tower came out I was excited because of how fun the first game was. When I downloaded and started the game up however, I quickly realized that this game has succumbed to the wave of pay to continue playing for energy, constant micro transactions of gems and resources, ads every 2 seconds. Very disappointing to see yet another good and unique game become like the rest :/

### 1/5 — They turned a great game into pay to win

*2020-10-29, version 1.0.4*

Bottom line up front: save yourself the money and heartache and only play the first one.

I loved the first game. It’s a cool concept and is a breath of fresh air from all the other defense style games with its gameplay.

However, they basically took the first game, nerfed the skill tree for weapon customization, and added in a bunch of resources as a method to turn the game into a grind and sell gems for resources.

Wanna upgrade your tower or guns? That’s gonna need parts. Gotta send your train to get the parts, and that takes time and erythrium. Don’t have enough erythrium? Well you can buy some. But wait, it’s not pay to win, cause you can spend in game coins to buy erythrium. Well what about when you run out of coins? You can buy some!

You get maybe about 10-20 minutes of playtime in a single session before you have to let everything refill (or pay money). This might be worth it if they’d done anymore than just make nicer backgrounds and a few more maps than the first game.

I would have paid for this game. I would have paid for the first one too, just to keep it from becoming pay to win trash like everything else nowadays.

### 2/5 — Steam version and 2nd bonus level

*2020-10-11, version 1.0.4*

Steam version has much more FOV rather than mobile which makes some levels a bit harder like the 2nd bonus level, the Steam soldiers land closer to the base coupled with low health that always destroys the tower no matter what.

Other than that issue it’s a great game if they could kindly fix this issue I’d give it 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Made in ms paint

*2020-09-19, version 1.0.4*

And sad

### 1/5 — Needs to be zoomed out

*2020-09-16, version 1.0.4*

Playing on iPad Air 2 and Lord Bertram’s name gets cut off at the edge of the screen. More importantly, the zoom also means that some levels (particularly the Balkans bonus level) are very difficult to do. Ranged units like the Rocket Infantry can fire before being on screen, so there is no way to use powers to kill them beforehand.
Alternatively, let the player pan a bit to the left/right by swiping from the side of the level. It’s not as good as zooming out a bit, but it would make it manageable.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unplayable

*2025-09-01, version 1.0.4*

Game seems promising but currently hard locks you in the tutorial, preventing you from continuing the game. I tried I downloading and redownloading but to no avail. After you finish the first mission it will take you to upgrade your tower and the game won’t let you select the option needed to continue.

### 1/5 — Basic gameplay with poor purchasing

*2025-08-30, version 1.0.4*

I am surprisingly enjoying the game but have made 3 purchases and received nothing. Not happy.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2025-03-14, version 1.0.4*

Literally broke at the very beginning of the tutorial. Restarting does nothing. This is a trash program that has not been tested enough to be considered to be complete.

### 1/5 — why the anti aircraft turret?

*2024-07-29, version 1.0.4*

The anti-aircraft turret is a pain because the steam soldiers murder you and they spawn next to the base! Please, make a nerf to that level.

### 1/5 — Personal information spyware

*2023-03-27, version 1.0.4*

Must give your personal information to the developer and “third party access” in order to play, never seen that before for any app

### 1/5 — Wow

*2023-01-03, version 1.0.4*

Because I don’t want tracking I can’t play your game ??

### 1/5 — Developers, please fix save button cuz it doesn’t save!

*2022-07-25, version 1.0.4*

Save option doesn’t work!

### 1/5 — Can’t opt out of data collection

*2022-05-30, version 1.0.4*

They offer you the choice of opting out of data collection. The catch? You can’t play the game. It just takes you back to the screen that allows you to opt out. If this is a bug, it is careless. If it is intentional, it’s egregious.

### 1/5 — Loved the first game, hate this “sequel”

*2022-03-26, version 1.0.4*

Loved the original Steampunk tower, still have it on my phone it’s such a good game.

But this on the other hand is not a good game

Sure there are some cool elements to it like the new “Raven”, that I guess is cool, and the graphics and sound are nice. But everything else just feels like this is just a crappy sequel of the first just to make money, kinda like those horrible Disney sequels nobody likes (no offense) :p

Pros and Cons:

Pros:
•New cool tower/weapon
•Good Graphics
•Awesome Sound
•Really cool bosses

Cons:
•Bad Dialogue at times
•Only about 3 hours worth of interesting stuff
•Game feels like a crappy mobile port.. which it is

Overall I wouldn’t recommend this, just play the original over this one any day, you’ll thank me :}

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2021-09-20, version 1.0.4*

The full arena is not shown so it’s not possibly to win against boss levels as you can’t target anything off screen

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Made a purchase

*2025-10-18, version 1.0.4*

I made a purchase twice, but I didn’t get anything can you guys fix this, or just give me my refund

### 5/5 — Major Bug on Firefly boss

*2021-07-09, version 1.0.4*

So far this game has been great, however my journey through the games story has been halted due to a pretty annoying visual bug on the fire fly zeppelin boss. I understand to not to shoot the middle engine until you’ve taken out the rear engines with a saw launcher. However, on iPad Pro 12.9 fifth gen OS 14.6 you cannot see the rear engines to destroy with the saw launcher. I’ve even gotten the zeppelin to 0 health and it just floats there unless you destroy the middle with machine gun turrets and then crashes into you. I hope this gets fixed soon as I cannot progress through the story.

### 5/5 — Resolution problems

*2020-08-23, version 1.0.4*

I love the game. But I have a problem with the firefly boss. I cannot see the turbines on the end of the ship. I can see only half of the ship. Don’t know why. The picture is just not big enough. I wish could attach a screenshoot.
Could you fix that please!
Ipad 6.

### 5/5 — A “Steaming” Good Sequel!

*2020-08-20, version 1.0.4*

EARLY GAME ADOPTER REVIEW. Before considering downloading and playing this game yourself, please do take some time to read my honest review from an early adopter of this game.

THE QUICK GIST. If you’re a fan of the original Steampunk Tower game, then you’ll likely enjoy this sequel. It kept a lot of elements that made the original steampunk-themed TD game unique and simply enjoyable for both casual and experienced players of this genre. It kept the classic steampunk theme, the tower, turrets, super weapons, enemies, and many more from the original game, all while revamping them and/or giving them a polished look. That fact alone should deserve a shoutout to the devs for keeping the good and notable elements in this sequel. Regarding game stability, it’s very stable to play as of now but encountering bugs, glitches, or crashes every now and then isn’t rare either. It also depends on what device and OS version you’re using to play the game so results may vary. The game does automatically save data to the cloud so if you experience crashes it should be able to load the latest uploaded data before it happened. Expected early game adopter issues aside, if you’re looking for a good free TD game with some steampunk flair, you should consider trying this game out.

THE NEW GAME ELEMENTS. As mentioned in my introduction, the game kept many elements from the original game. It makes the transition from the original to its sequel much more comfortable and easy to get into for those who played the original, as you necessarily don’t need to know everything how the game works all over again. For the new players, the tutorial should be easy to understand once you get the gist. One of the new elements added in this sequel is the introduction of a base-building game progression system. To put it short and simple, how you progress in the game is entirely dependent on building/upgrading your base. Upgrading or building structures either provide higher quantities of various resources or improve overall performance of your base, steampunk tower, turrets, etc. The next new element added is the revamped turret upgrade system. In the original game, whenever you had to start a level, you start with level 1 turrets then level them up higher using money earned. In the sequel, you upgrade turrets using scrap. Any upgrades you add to any given turret, be it the turret itself or its attack attributes, are also permanent, meaning each time you start a level you can permanently start with a level 2 or higher turret, with its individual attack attributes upgraded mind you. That way, you don’t need to do the tedious task of upgrading them mid-battle, something you had to do in the original.

NOTABLE PROS. All-new story and campaign. All-new questing system which ties in with the story and game progression. Steampunk age advancement system; you can technologically advance to the next age to unlock new weapons, structures, and improve the overall look of your base. Also ties in with the story and game progression. Revamped original turrets such as MG, Heavy Cannon, Tesla, and Saw Launcher. New turrets such as Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Flamethrower, just to name a few. New and revamped enemies with their own strengths and weaknesses. BOSS BATTLES!!! The Boss from the original game felt lonely so it brought some new friends. Improved graphics, SFX, and VFX. All-new background and battle music to fit with the steampunk theme. Your Steampunk Tower is air-dropped onto the battlefield each time you play a campaign level by a Steampunk-Era Helicarrier!!! Nick Fury must be proud. Receive free resources as daily login bonuses. Lastly, it’s free to play with NO pop-up ads! I’m sure there’s plenty more pros to boot.

SUGGESTIONS. Larger font size text when playing this game on mobile devices. Faster and smoother “turret swap” speed in battle. A button via settings to restore IAPs on this game if it’s not already automatically saved via cloud. A button via settings to directly email the devs for reporting bugs, glitches, or crashes because this helps devs squash any problem that players find ASAP. Add an IAP that enables a player to earn the bonuses provided from watching ads for free which are collected every 1/2 to 1 hour to make resource grinding in mid to late game more tolerable. A more friendly and smoother user interface as the current UI is a bit messy and complex in my opinion. A button via settings to reset all game data for those who want to play this game from the very beginning all over again. This option will also require a confirmation to proceed to prevent accidental resets. Lastly, allow to manually save game data to the cloud at any time because there’s currently a wait period before a player can manually save data again.

FINAL VERDICT. Would I recommend this game to you if you’re a fan of TD? At its current state, I’d honestly say yes give it a shot. It’s one of the unique TD games that you can find in the App Store, so you gotta give credit to the devs for originality when it comes to its steampunk theme. Sure, there’s knockoff versions of their games but this is the granddaddy. Seriously, I’m surprised for both the devs and this game because both are honestly quite underrated and should deserve more renown. Despite taking this long for a sequel, I can assure you that the amount of effort and content the devs placed into this game compensated for that well. If any of the devs are reading this review, huge kudos to you guys for making a great sequel to the original Steampunk Tower. I hope that you’ll provide constant feedback and support for the players who enjoyed the original game both on PC and mobile (I know I did), and for the potential newcomers who are either new to the Steampunk Tower series or to the whole TD game genre in general.

Onwards to victory, one Steampunk Tower at a time. Lastly, did I ever mention that this game has trains, AND the legendary Schwerer Gustav railway gun?

### 5/5 — This is the one

*2020-08-17, version 1.0.4*

Was trying to find a decent game to play out of boredom and stumbled on this masterpiece. Idk why it’s so unpopular, the game story and mechanics are great. Amazing game.

### 5/5 — Merchandise

*2020-08-11, version 1.0.4*

This game is really good and fun! See if you can please make merchandise out of some stuff. Like a Grand Walker figurine, and some plush toys. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Just awesome!

*2020-07-28, version 1.0.3*

I don’t know why these games are so underrated!
They are fantastic!!!

### 5/5 — I’ve loved this game for years now

*2020-07-01, version 1.0.3*

I used to own it back on a couple of my other phones in the past but I’ve always loved it never deleted the game, only broken phones😅😂, but in my opinion it’s by far one of the best if not the best tower defense game for free on the app store💯🔥🔥🔥, and yea this is a real review for you septics like myself 😌 aloha ✌️

### 5/5 — Great game but issue with challenges mission

*2020-06-14, version 1.0.3*

The challenge missions are close to impossible after the first. I have checked the strategy on YouTube but the difference is that the pc has more space for the map then mobile. So it would be nice if there was more map to work with.

### 5/5 — Loving it!

*2020-06-12, version 1.0.3*

Super difficult, but wow! Super fun! I have been waiting FOREVER for it to come out and here it is. Absolutely amazing! Keep up the good work! I just want to say a few things. I kinda miss the grand airships. Those were my favorite. Another thing is if you released merch, like a grand walker figurine, I would buy that the second I got the money!
