It uses Reverse Polish Notation, of a sort. In fact that is what stirred my interest. Imagine my surprise then… For my very first experiment, I tried to calculate the square root of 7. Now, an ordinary 'RPN' calculator requires just two keypresses: 7, SQRT (in that order). Very efficient; no need for any other keypress and one of the primary appeals of RPN. Expecting the normal result, I clicked the 7 key and then the SQRT key… – But there wasn't a result. After trying again, I thought maybe it needed the 'Enter' key to get the 7 into the stack. Yes, now it was there, all by itself. So now surely the SQRT key will work? No, still no result. But now the entry bar showed '7()' with a flashing cursor requiring another value to be entered within parentheses and the original '7' about to behave as a multiplying operand upon whatever was inserted between the brackets! Bizarre! Very convoluted for anyone familiar with the wonderful efficiency of (normal) RPN. Of course, I can eventually make it work; but I really don't get why I'm forced to jump through hoops which shouldn't be there at all. Why complicate it by eroding RPN's primary advantage? Needless to say, despite lots of functionality deep within, I've deleted it. I should also warn potential iPad users: sadly, this app does not rotate for landscape view. **Developer response:** Oh so sorry! I’m not sure you had put the calculator in RPN mode. By default it is in algebraic mode (not all people are RPN lovers, their loss!) To toggle RPN mode you need to go into settings, scroll to the calculator options section and choose RPN. This one by far works the best in my opinion. I use a scientific calculator to do electrical calculations and it has been difficult to find one that incorporates all of the features I need in one calculator. This one’s loaded with great features and functions properly, unlike many other calculator apps. Hopefully the locker gets a book for electrical engineering someday😁, that would eliminate my need for one other app 😉... Thank you for your excellent and well thought out work.
