When I open the app once in a while, app writes my memories my on behalf. I can easily find when was the last time I went to a hairdresser, how many times I’ve exercised since I’ve joined a gym, when was my best friends wedding, etc. Sure, I could do all that in Calendar app, the problem, however is - am not using calendar much. And STEP Journal is much more fun than Calendar (how would you put pics on Calendar?)… Having connected Location services, Photos I don’t really have to do much to maintain my journal (sure, it gets place wrong occasionally, but who is perfect?). Hopefully soon the app will also add location info to my Facebook statuses. Easy to use too. Fitbit now syncs, but only for the info regarding sleep; going to sleep and waking up. Foursquare and Twitter syncs flawlessly. Not so sure about Facebook. Previous review: I'd give it 5 Stars, but... I can't access the sign-in screen to link my STEP journal to my fitbit account. I get a blank screen. Nothing. Nada. No problem with the bringing up the "Jawbone Up" page to sign in. There isn't a help option either. Using the feedback option also nets nothing. It’s easy to use, full of various activities that I can choose from, and the colors used are nice as well. I like how it’s designed very simply yet engagingly. Sure, other social media such as facebook and twitter have the option to check in, add photos, statuses, etc, but I’m sure they don’t analyze your activities into a graph or a chart like this one does. this is what makes step journal very unique in its own special way. From the outset it seemed okay until I tried to enter a new place opened a new page to sign up with Foursquare. Reading terms and conditions the user will allow 4sq access to all your private info and you must consent or step journal doesn’t work. I tried to add several new places each time a new account was required in 4sq. Until a new account is created Step Journal is a waste and a front for mining personal data. I uninstalled it after a dozen attempts and dozen Create Account in 4sq. I’m not ready to surrender personal info voluntarily. Uninstalled the program. It’s invasive ### 2/5 — Too Difficult *2014-01-01, version 1.2.6* This app is too difficult to figure out. I read the directions and tried it for 30 minutes... too hard. ### 2/5 — Not (yet) possible to export data *2013-05-27, version 1.0.8* This app is very nice, really pretty, polished and really useful. But there's no backup, no option to sync data with Dropbox (or iCloud, although Dropbox would be easier to implement and safer) and no option to EXPORT your data. Considering that it can be quite an investment to journal your life even for a few months, the notion that you might LOSE IT ALL if something happens to your phone (or even if you decide to change it) is a little discouraging. I'd LOVE to use it everyday, but in it's present condition, I won't. ### 3/5 — Ok *2014-01-07, version 1.2.7* This app would be useful if you want to track how you manage your time. It requires a sign up and you must agree to the terms and conditions without being able to see them. ### 3/5 — It's okay... *2013-06-30, version 1.0.11* 💡It needs: 👉iCloud and Dropbox backup options 👉Ability to EDIT or DELETE tags that were created and now are default 👉Ability to EDIT text (journal entries) 👉Ability to add more than one location on your day 👉An option to create a note with each selected tag that way I can click on the tag and it will show me a summary about that specific tag because the tags don't look like tags, they look like sub-boxes of information 👉A main summary page to see my day in a better view rather than having to click on items to see them 👉Auto-post geo-tagging. Every time you visit a place that you entered for default, it would record it like the DayPlus app. 👉Hello...calendar sync. 😃It would be nice to have: 👉Social auto-post integration for Twitter or Pinterest feeds to auto-post within the journal. So I could enjoy my post in my journal. 👉Ability to add lecture recordings and also music like the Flava app. 👉Ability to add videos 👉Ability to add links like the Flava app. 👉Share via other apps such as sharing my day on Path. 👉Make text RICH 👉Ability to stop crashing when I try to add a photo. So much potential. Then it would be the best journal around. UPDATE: I can't even use it because it keeps crashing even with the LATEST June 2013 update.
