Top reviews

It keeps me motivated!

I really love this step tracking app, it’s easy to use and I love that it tracks my stairs for the day as well as my steps. It’s also fun to compete with friends every day, motivate each other and try and make it to the leaderboard!

Right

Party like it’s 2013

Response from developer

Yep - we'e been around since 2013. Glad to hear you're still with us after all this time!

Steps

Appears to be very good for steps. Extremely poor for stairs - or maybe us oldsters climb too slowly to register. Our stairs are 13 steps and I do them 6+ times a day but only 1 registers and usually only up - I never go down apparently

Response from developer

Thanks for checking out the newest StepTracker and I appreciate the updated review! Yeah - the apple’s step count is imperfect for sure but it’s supposed to count flights not individual steps. I live on the 4th floor and I went down once and up once today and it reports 3 flights down and 3 flights up - not perfect but good enough I guess. It uses change in elevation to try to estimate the flights so the vertical distance is more important than # of steps. I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy the new update.

Efficient and accurate

I have various step tracking apps . I like this one because it’s really clear on daily activity vs still. I also like the daily trends. The widget is greate too . Nothing too complicated about this app which is a positive for me . Not sure I need a leaderboard but others might find that incentivising.

Original and best

Exceptionally useful app that I find actually more functional than the native pedometer. I love the redesign—really modern, clean look showing exactly the data I want to see in an intuitive visualization suite.

Response from developer

Thanks for the review! StepTracker was indeed the first and glad you're still with us after all these years!

Add placement

The place that you have put the adds does not let me to click the buttons at the bottom and I am unable to click or access it as I am on mobile

Response from developer

I understand where you're coming from, but that's kind of the point - I'm trying to encourage people to buy the $1 lifetime unlock to access the extra feature. With the unlock you get the ability to access the history button by removing the ad. The price is $1 right now and it's good for life. If it's too confusing maybe I will disable the history button and add a "purchase to unlock the history" banner as well, but I thought the ad placement was simpler...

Step Tracker

So convenient as we. Always have our phones!

Response from developer

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that you find StepTacker as useful as I do!

Good Straightforward App

Been using this multiple times a day for years to track steps, km, and calories. It’s accurate and you can customise it. New design look is fun, and the app fundamentals are all still great. Good job.

Wow what an upgrade

Wow I’ve been using this app for years and the recent update was amazing. Thanks for keeping this app up to date and keep up the good work!

The OG StepTracker is BACK!

Wow, what a blast from the past. I used this app back in 2013 and it was pretty sweet back then. First time I ever saw an iPhone act as a pedometer. The motion coprocessor technology was pretty ground breaking back then. Unfortunately the app saw few updates over the years and the UI was totally out of date so I stopped using it. Looks like they finally gave StepTracker a new coat of paint and it's better than ever - actually more like a new engine, a new frame, AND a new coat of paint. I find this more useful than ever especially the workout mode.

Step Tracker

Convenient and great detail! Makes me walk more to meet my goal!

Best Widget

This is my favourite widget! Simple, detailed and clean!

Thank you for such a great app!

StepTracker Review

I’ve only just recently downloaded and began using this app as I just switched from Samsung phones to my very first IPhone and I absolutely LOVE this app already!! VERY ACCURATE on step counts and also very well at prompting me to step it up a little more and reach my daily goals!! I would recommend this app to anyone!! And a 5 sec vid-ad isn’t all that bad in my eyes either!! But there are ALWAYS those negative Nancy’s out there!! Don’t pay them no mind!! This app is AMAZING and I will be a lifelong user of this app from here on out so thanks for taking the time to create such a wonderful and accurate app!!

autoplay video ads with sound

update: despite developer response i checked and still auto plays vid-ads with sound; Apple's Health app does what i need and keeps a better history

original review: i have used this app for years; it's a little funky — sometimes loses track of step count from a few days ago, and it recently started forcing ads into the experience; i was considering paying up to get rid of the ads, because on the whole it was all i needed — UNTIL it auto-played a video ad with sound — this is really unacceptable and so instead of paying to get rid of the ads i'm deleting the app and trying some others

Response from developer

I'm sorry about the ads. When Apple discontinued the iAd platform I let the app go ad free for nearly a year but decided to switch to Google's AdMob network so that I could start making some money again. There are no ad options out there as good as iAd and I decided the full screen ad was better than having a banner take up screen real estate. I didn't know that ads played with sound by default (in my testing I hadn't noticed that). I will look into it. If you want to contact me via email we can discuss the other bugs which I have not seen in my testing (and I use my app daily myself).

Good App, but Needs One Improvement

Only the current week can be viewed in portrait mode. My instinct is to swipe left to right to see previous weeks' steps.

Response from developer

This bug has been fixed in the latest update.

Needs upgrades

I think they should upgrade it for iPhone 5c to because it looks like a good app but now I can't use it thx not trying to send hate

Orphaned?

Used to be my fav, paid the in-app purchase, recommended to all my friends and family.

Alas, no longer works reliably after iOS 9.
