## What is STEP View 3D?

This is a great 3D STEP (ISO 10303, stp ) data file viewer for iPad. Even if you use CAD software like CATIA, ProEngineer, SolidWorks, NX, etc. which might not save STEP file directly, you can certainly use the CAD software to export your model in STEP foramt and use the app to view it. With help of this app, you can view your model anywhere you want, no matter you are at home or traveling abroad.

The app provides many 3D features including rotating model with finger movement, zooming in/out, panning, changing color, changing light intensity, etc. You can also choose to display it in shading model, or wireframe mode. The app supports loading multiple models at the same time so that you can view them together. It is extremely helpful when you want to compare your data sets to make sure everything works correctly. You can also use the app to figure out basic dimensions of your model, for instance, the length along x, y or z direction, total surface area, total volume, etc.

The app supports rendering 3D objects on top of different background, for instance, you can change background color, make it transparent or use an image as background. You can choose any image to be the background image. For instance, you can use model environment image, or your company's logo.

You can add files to the app's document folder through iTunes and use the file open button of the app to load them. You can use it to zip / unzip compressed files in .zip format. The app also tells you information about your files, for instance, the size and creation time of the files. Waste of $5.  I never leave reviews, but this one is so horrible I had to speak up.  Do not waste your money!!!!!  It shouldn't be legal to sell such garbage.  I want my money back!

Doesn't open STEP files properly and won't orient itself based on rotation of iPad screen. Half the menu is landscape and half portrait. Some buttons don't fit the screen. Developer didn't try very hard. Shouldn't be sold.

While I was open most of the IGS files, noticed issues with opening STP files. The files open distorted, with additional features etc. Need a fix for this issue immediately. Otherwise @ $ 4.99 this is a descent app.
