Especially if youre in need of help or searching for community!! The app also provides a wide variety of support ranging from housing and job resources to food and education! And with their geomaps, it makes it easier to find those resources closest to you! I specifically enjoyed that there are resources available when looking for homes to rent and when searching for jobs. It has tons of resources and community support. You can ask staff questions, look at the map for resources near you, and learn new skills from the learning modules. I love the photo on the main screen and how colorful everything is. As someone who is former foster youth this app has helped me with education and employment. I recommend this app to those who are former foster youth, foster youth, and those who aged out of foster care. ### 5/5 — Amazing Supportive App *2026-02-06* This is a very incredible app with many people that genuinely care about you and want you to do better. This app has so many different features you are able to use for yourself all for FREE!! Which is very hard to find. You are able to use a part of the app to find jobs or even apartments as well that are for low income and you can even pick a specific area to look and it provides you with all the information you need to apply. The app also has a feature with that is called the learning series where you are able to learn about anything that can benefit you as a foster youth who ages out of the system. Even cooking, finding jobs, helping write resumes, and even personal development as well. The app is easy to use, organized, and actually helpful for foster youth. My favorite feature is the Geo Maps. The Geo Maps make it so much easier to find nearby resources like housing support, food assistance, wellness services, and other programs without having to search all over the internet. As a foster youth, especially as an NMD, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out where to go for help, and this feature saves time and reduces stress by putting everything in one place based on your location. I feel like this app should honestly be a requirement for all foster youth, especially non-minor dependents (NMDs) in the foster care system. It provides access to resources that many of us don’t even know exist, and it supports independence, stability, and self-sufficiency. There are so many resources I wish I had when I was still in high school. It may be a good app to replace doom scrolling with. Think of it as Instagram but for a specific community. Could use some updates on the UI and features to make it more engaging but overall it works well in tandem to the nonprofits work in real life. ### 5/5 — SFLA *2026-09-11* Some of my favorite features about SFLA is the learning features because it gives you access to all the resources for former foster Youth or Youth who are in need of extra support. I also really like the community features because it gives you a chance to interact with other people on the team and include your own input. I also really like the events feature because it gives you access to events that are happening around your community. I also like the video and resources feature because it allows you access to resources around you or may be happening in the month/year. It also has a Mood Palette feature which you can access and include characters and objects to describe your mood. I really also like the group feature because it allows you access to talk to the team about recourses you may need. It also has a learning feature where you can access resources like pregnant parenting, Personal Development, Money management, Health and Wellness, and more. Overall I would say SFLA is a great app too connect with people and get resources that are for you. I love that foster youth can find resources, opportunities, events, and support all in one place. SFLA really cares about helping foster youth move forward and reach their goals. I’ve also met so many amazing people and made great connections through this organization.
