When I first started using this I thought this is so good. Little did I know at that point I was just scratching the surface with what this could do. ### 5/5 — Powerful, flexible and stable arp/sequencer *2023-01-25* I've really gotten to grips with StepPolyArp in recent times and am finding it to be deep, versatile and a perfect fit for many of my projects. l don't really use other arpeggiator apps anymore as SPA provides everything I need from predictable straight-up arpeggiation to randomized/evolving patterns. It's super stable and importantly SPA has endured while other apps have come and gone. Support is great from a very responsive developer. Certain parameters (such as speed, gate, octave etc.) can be controlled on-the-fly by external midi and I've made good use of this. SPA sits deservedly at the centre of my workflow. Wish I started with this. ### 5/5 — I‘m blown away *2022-01-30* Tried quite a few different sequencing / arp apps. This one absolutely takes the cake. By far. Works like a charm to control my hardware. Even different synths with different patterns at the same time via AUM. So many possibilities and parameters. Great presets included also. All packed into a super convenient interface. Should have found this one earlier so I wouldn‘t have thrown out my money for sub-par apps. Look no further, this one is the best. No joke. Thank you programming person! You made me happy. :) ### 4/5 — Wish it had real time velocity control *2022-01-20, version 4.3.5* Love this app but I am finding myself wishing it had some realtime velocity control when I am playing chords into it. Would love to see capability in the next update. Also a powerful arp. But I think it could be a bit less expensive, this will make it more accessible for people. ### 5/5 — Switched from older app *2020-05-10* Bought the older non-au app in error. Refunded by dev/store and immediately deleted the original and bought this - Does exactly what I needed. The Audio Unit allows multiple instances which is really useful. ### 5/5 — Great arpeggiator, well supported *2019-11-20* Every IOS music producer needs a good arpeggiator and StepPolyArp Unit, a polished AUV3 app, is very good. Music producers also need music apps that work reliably, are well supported and frequently updated as the IOS environment changes. Laurent (developer) keeps this app clean, bug free, stable, rock solid and doing what it is supposed to. If you find a bug, send an quick email to Laurent and he will have it fixed and updated in the App Store in a day or two. Excellent programmability, automation and documentation including step by step instructions and pictures on how to set up in various IOS DAWs. StepPolyArp Unit is a great arpeggiator. Use it live or in the studio to build your songs. Bass lines, melodies, polyrhythms, chord progressions, ambient sounds. Works in all IOS DAWs as an auv3 midi plug in. Testé sur 2 Ipad différents. ### 1/5 — Another AUV3 with great potential but.. *2021-12-10* None of the parameters are accessible over midi. What’s the point with no automation or external control? Paid for sequencer.. received a toy :(. Please fix this! ### 1/5 — Aged. Now many apps costing MUCH less offer similar features. *2019-12-17, version 4.1.12* GOOD and EXCELLENT: ***Excellent stability, does not crash. ***Great overall control of the pattern / arpeggio. ***Well designed user interface. ***Excellent velocity adjustment panel with multi touch drawing feature. ***Very useful “beat sync phase” under tempo adjustments. NOT SO GOOD: ***No multi select for events/notes (only in the form of selecting all, every other, every fourth etc. but not specifically selected notes). This forces tedious event behavior adjustments which have to be done one by one on every event (in addition the boxes in the menu for selecting the events behavior are small). ***The individual rows can’t have pitches loaded as a preset (meaning you can’t quickly assign a scale to all rows’ pitches. ). ***No quick global transposition. Yes, you could transpose the pattern simply by pressing a different piano key but sometimes you want specific keys to be pressed (when using piano keys to base the arpeggio on), also you can transpose pitch of each row in the pattern individually but you can’t quickly do it to all the rows globally. ***Poor internal sounds, no user sounds. ***Confusing currently playing pattern indication (or a bug?). It’s the pattern that is due/next that is flashing, all other patterns are still. It would be easier to spot the current pattern if it was flashing or if there was another indication of the current pattern, such as display of the pattern’s number. ***“Grid edit” under the cog wheel in the top right corner above the pattern window not logical. Some controls apply to all the grid’s rows but “fill all steps” applies only to the main middle row. In addition, selecting “fill all steps” deletes all events in the other rows. ***Has a bug where sometimes changing the rows’ length has no effect on where the rows loop. ***After being opened in a background in a while as idle, when returning to the app it won’t plat the pattern / arp at all. Unfortunately I see no way to use the velocities that are played on the controller versus translating them to the sequence of velocities stored with the arp pattern. Is there a way to bypass the velocities so that you can utilize your own performed dynamics like the way most hardware arpeggiators work? ### 4/5 — Fantastic Arp *2022-07-27* Easy to use and great options. Stand-alone and auv3 is exactly what I need. One issue I have is with random note generation. Mono is not really mono. It is just a root note rhythm. It should be able to generate a melody as any monophonic instrument can play. Unfortunately, I couldn't update the older Mac version 4.52 to the current version. However, the developer contacted me immediately and provided truly exceptional support. He explained everything in detail and invested a lot of time. Now the current version runs perfectly on my Mac mini and also on my iPad. Easy to use with many options, the best MIDI sequencer I have used on iPad. ### 5/5 — Really exceptional app. *2025-04-25, version 5.0.3* Initially I found this as a workaround to some USB MIDI controller’s native arpeggiators that were very jittery. Other arp apps had some features but were missing others. This has everything! I’ve actually replaced the hardware controller’s arpeggiator with StepPoly entirely and programmed it via MIDI Learn in AUM to do everything the controller did and more! Everything stays perfectly in sync and has every arp parameter imagineable. Good job! ### 5/5 — StepPolyArp Rocks for Music Production! *2025-03-26, version 5.0.2* This is an amazing app that lets you create and play arpeggios or sequences with ease. It is very well thought out. I use it to play Korg synths via Korg Gadget, and to create a complex or simple backing through a Korg Pa arranger. You should have a basic understanding of midi if you want to drive internal or external synths. Also, basic music theory is helpful for understanding scales, etc. ### 5/5 — L'arpègiateur ultime sur iPad *2025-02-28* Vraiment très complet. Would be interesting to see some of the features like Omnisphere’s arp has on desktop, or warping features to play with time.
