## What is Stepwords?

Stepwords is a word game where walking is the only way to get letters.

Six hundred steps mints one letter. There is no other way to get one — no packs, no timers, no watching a video. Ten a day is the ceiling, so nobody out-walks you into a better board. Vocabulary decides this game, not fitness.

Everyone starts from the same word, on the same 19x19 board, on the first of the month. What you build on it is yours.

HOW IT WORKS

Walk. Every 600 steps offers you three letters, and you keep one. Ten a day is the most anyone can earn.

Build. Place letters in a single line, touching what is already there. Every run they form has to be a word — including the ones you make by accident. Crossings count in both words, which is where the points actually live.

Commit. There is no undo. Stage freely, rearrange freely, then live with it for the month.

At the end of the month the board closes, your leftover tiles do not carry over, and a new word opens.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

No ads. No energy timers. No boosters. No letter packs. No streak you can lose.

Your step count is read on the device and turned into letters there. It is never uploaded — there is no endpoint on the server that accepts one. No account is needed to play.

THE OPTIONAL PLAN

A plan keeps your past boards open, adds an animated replay of a month, tile themes, word statistics, and ranks the friends you have added. It unlocks nothing that affects play: no extra letters, no extra swaps, no head start. The daily cap is the same for everybody, which is the whole point.

Available as an annual subscription that renews until cancelled, or as a one-off purchase that does not. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed in your Apple Account settings.
