### 2/5 — No support

*2026-03-10, version 1.1.26*

I never got my email confirmation after making my account.

Tried to reset password and still never got an email.

Tried to find support on the site and only got an FAQ.

I’ve been enjoying pinball without the app, so I don’t feel like I’m missing much, but this app feels half baked before even being able to use it.

### 4/5 — A promising start

*2026-01-03, version 1.1.26*

Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. But this platform augments the pinball experience, adding achievement tracking and leveling up the experience. As an owner of a Stern home edition plus table, I have recruited my friends to create accounts so we can track their progress and celebrate epic achievements. This also makes me want to track down arcades with connected machines to explore more games and achievements.

Hoping they iron out some of the bugs and improve the UI, but this platform definitely adds value and provides Stern with a competitive advantage.

### 4/5 — Disorganized Greatness

*2025-12-06, version 1.1.26*

There is so much missed potential with this app purely because of how messy it is. The categories don’t make much sense and it’s frustrating to navigate. That said when you DO figure out where you’re trying to go this app has almost all of the information you could want. Seems like updates are rolling out at a decent rate and things are improving but there’s definitely room to grow.

### 2/5 — No biometric Sign in

*2025-08-23, version 1.1.25*

Logs you out ever other day. Doesn’t allow biometric sign in so you have to enter your password by hand every other day. I changed my password from a good one like Jfbw&3g)3 to something stupid like monkey123 because of this. Please add biometric sign in and have longer sessions.

### 2/5 — Data tracking only, really

*2025-01-04, version 1.1.3*

The app has great intentions but the UI is clunky and not intuitive. Most “front-page” features are buried and require memorization to locate. It is great to have your high scores tracked, achievements, and connect stern locations, but good luck finding deeper details

### 3/5 — Great app with room to grow

*2024-12-19, version 1.1.3*

I enjoy a lot of things about this app and have some suggestions for improvements.

I love that it can track my acheivements and give me a sense of how many others have earned them.
I love seeing my high scores and recent scores for each machine.
Really great that my QR code can log me in and automatically enter my initials.

I love the game finder!
I like the XP but I'm not sure what it does overall. Is there a rank progression?

Here's what I would love to see more of in order of importance to me:
1) Stats, stats, stats! I would love seeing even more about my statisitcs for a given game! I want to know exactly what percentile my score is (I think this was in a previous version of the app?)! I want to see how my score does over time. I want to see charts and graphs showing me a visual! I want to filter my scores for each machine by how I've improved over a given period of time (day, month, 3 months, year, all-time). This will help me stay more engaged with my games sinces I will be able to see my progress.
2) Improved stats - I would love to see my break down of a score for a given game. I would love to see how my score rises from ball 1 to ball 3. I would love to see time points indicating when modes start. This can give me a sense of what modes help my score the most during a game! (See Scorbit for examples)
3) Practice mode - I would love the option to count a game as a practice before I start so that (with the improved stats) I can still see how I improve, but it won't affect my overall average score.
4) I know it's been said before, but I would love to organize weekly/monthly leaderboards for my at-home machines!
5) I would love the ablility to wipe all achievements from a certain machine so that I can relive the thrill of earning them again! Perhaps the app can keep track of how many games it takes me to do so - or how long.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-11-11, version 1.1.2*

Crashes. Website crashes. All around bad. Not a good update. UX is more convoluted than previous version. Metrics are limited still. Would love more information like length of average game, each games score not the highest score of each session, compare function to other users, average score by game trend over time, etc. So much data is being collected for the most limited and nearly pointless “statistics” presented. When IC isn’t crashing the overall experience is a 4/10, at best.

### 3/5 — Making it simple

*2024-11-10, version 1.1.2*

Love that this app exists, but struggling with the new app updates to find anything. Get caught in endless loops sometime. Appreciate trying to make it better, but the latest update is a step back in making it user friendly. Tracking your latest play or data is buried deep in the app, if you’re even able to find it. Very much want IC to work again, right now it’s just too hard.

### 4/5 — Much improved interface

*2024-11-09, version 1.1.2*

This new update makes the app much easier to use.

### 2/5 — Logged Out Again and Again

*2024-11-08, version 1.1.2*

They say the new update keeps you logged in. That however couldn’t. E further from the truth. UI is certainly clunky and confusing too.

### 1/5 — Can’t get passed the “why are you here screen”

*2024-11-07, version 1.1.2*

Was able to log in and create an account but won’t get passed the welcome to insider pinball screen.

### 1/5 — CONSTANTLY logged out

*2024-10-22*

It’s a pinball score tracker, why is it logging me out daily despite “remember me” being checked.

Also, the design is poor, everything is so large you can hardly see or find anything in the app, there’s so much empty wasted space

**Developer response:** Hi A Brew,

Thanks for the feedback! We appreciate you letting us know about the login issues and design concerns. We've released an update that fixes the logout problem and includes design improvements for easier navigation. We're always working to make the app better and appreciate your input!

### 3/5 — Good start

*2024-09-06*

The app is basically a wraparound the mobile web site so that brings some quirks but it works decently enough. My only major complaint is the Apple wallet functionality does not work AT ALL not here not in the mobile website, so when I hit the arcade I have to pull up the app to login instead of my mobile wallet. Otherwise I wish the UI in the app was native and on the iPad it utilized the extra screen real state better. The achievements page is a good example of a phone UI stretched where it should instead have 2 or 4 columns in view to see more at a time.

### 1/5 — WARNING: Fake App

*2024-09-05, version 1.0.78*

Doesn’t allow you to sign in at all, most of these other reviews are fake and made by the creators to get you to download. It’s not a real app and it steals your email address. Strongly advise you not to give it your email or download this app at all.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t even sign up

*2026-03-07, version 1.1.26*

Can’t even sign up. Won’t highlight next. Useless.

### 1/5 — UX nightmare

*2026-03-04, version 1.1.26*

So much going on, I legitimately cannot find anything easily, it’s so “busy” Other apps like Pindigo are so easy to browse, but this app makes no sense to the eyes. It also logs me out constantly with no remember me feature, it’s a pinball social app, or banking.

Home Screen shows recent achievements, can’t even click them to see what they are.

The icon that looks like 2 people, first thing it shows is find locations with games? Why? Isn’t that like a social area?

I just don’t understand what this app is for, I only see people log in on games but never use the app.

### 1/5 — No internet connection

*2026-01-06, version 1.1.26*

The app is always broken and says “no internet connection”. This app has been out for a while now with the same issue, very frustrating!

The app used to show stats, your level compared to others, work quickly…. Bummer they went backwards on the app.

### 1/5 — Too much

*2025-03-30, version 1.1.3*

There’s way too much stuff going on in the app and its organization is bad. We don’t need scrolling Recent Scores from random players with simply their avatars. This has no value at all. Get all that global leaderboard stuff in one far away area because frankly no one cares. We want to cleanly see high scores and achievements. We want to cleanly see friend high scores and achievements. Your resources and efforts are spread way too thin. Get a static back button. Get dates on the achievement pops. Stop popping achievements I already unlocked. I shouldn’t be getting badges twice. Just slow down and crush the high scores and achievements.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-03-07, version 1.1.3*

Can’t create an account through the app. Pointless

### 1/5 — Why bother?

Could have helped.

### 5/5 — Superior app and innovation

Thank You stern for building such wonderful app. I can’t wait to see how collect Pokémon’s and achievements in another great pinball games. This is game changer

Keep up!

### 5/5 — 4th year and going strong

*2026-05-08, version 1.1.26*

It’s amazing that no other pinball company has figured out QR codes. JJP has been working on it for several years and still nothing. The current Stern app upgraded a few years ago to be more graphical but now I watch a spinning disc as it tries to load data. I think my account might be worse because it has to loads my 1000+ badges in the background. Overall the team does an amazing job keeping us engaged and entertained. I would love to see more creative thinking on the Thursday monthly game badges. Repeating the same Achievement with a new graphic is not the way to go. And asking us to play all 32+ games on a promo has been way overdone. Bright spots are the high scores and telling us what percentile we placed amongst everyone. The tips and tricks on how to get weekly badges by Marc Patenaude are very helpful. But by far the best feature is the year in review because who doesn’t need to know what day of the week you play the best/most and on what ball you slay. I look forward to some top 1000 leaderboards with all the data they have collected. People love to compete with the world ! Keep it going Stern and let’s not forget the backend of the app for the Operators that seems to have been forgotten. I would love to adjust my sound levels and put on free play for event from home!

### 5/5 — Love this

*2025-08-07, version 1.1.24*

Just imagining what my grandma would’ve done to have this when she was 16💭 thanks so much for the app ❤️

### 5/5 — Too much

*2025-01-26*

Five stars because I appreciate the efforts so far. But there’s way too much stuff going on in the app and its organization is pretty bad. We don’t need scrolling Recent Scores from random players with simply their avatars. This has no value at all. Get all that global leaderboard stuff in one far away area because frankly no one cares. We want to cleanly see high scores and achievements. ### 5/5 — The best app for pintball

*2024-08-11, version 1.0.78*

Short, this is amazing. This is the best app, thats it.

### 5/5 — Simple Yet Helpful!

*2024-08-09, version 1.0.78*

My boyfriend and I started to play pinball pretty frequently and it’s really cool to have an app to record our scores and make it easier to know who is who when playing on a machine together. The achievements are a great addition to playing. Although the app is very basic, the simplicity is what makes it appealing to me!

### 5/5 — Great app, but move the shop tab

*2024-07-29*

The shop tab in the tab bar is annoying. I frequently accidentally tap it when I’m trying to get to my QR code. It wouldn’t be a big deal, except, it app switches to Safari. If it stayed in the Stern app, fine, but switching apps from a tab (especially a tab that’s right next to the most important feature) is bad design.

### 5/5 — UPDATED: Works great now - 5 stars!

*2024-02-09, version 1.0.44*

UPDATE: Increased from 2 to 5 stars now that the performance issues are resolved. It works as intended now and it’s great for us Stern fans!

Original review:
I assume this has the same functionality as the website, but it took four tries to login before it finally worked, and the performance issues make it impossible to do anything. Perhaps since it was just launched they did not anticipate so many concurrent users. Perhaps the APIs can’t handle enough calls. Regardless, until it is fixed or usage levels out to something it can manage, the app is unusable.

### 5/5 — Brilliant Move By Stern

*2024-01-14, version 1.0.44*

This app is awesome. You can select a pinball machine and see the instructions for skill shots and gameplay guides. The announcements are neat to keep up to date on new machines coming out. You can track your achievements as well as the stats of other users you follow.
This is a brilliant move by Stern to keep people coming back to pinball!!!

### 5/5 — Great start, smashing bugs!

*2023-12-05, version 1.0.41*

Thank you for being this to an app!! Creating and maintaining an app like this is a lot of work, good job and I for one look forward to future updates. Don’t let the turkey get you down, this is already 100% better than using the webpage.

Please make a home return from the leader boards as you can’t get out of them once you launch the leader board on the app.
