## What is Steve Roach Immersion II?

Immersion Station II brings you infinite ambient music, created from the soundworlds of ambient music pioneer Steve Roach. In this second version of Immersion Station, Steve draws from his recent atmospherics heard on the release Back to Life.  Immersion II also makes use of the most recent Immersion Station, which includes support for iPhone 5, AirPlay and sharing via Twitter.  

Immersion Station is an elegant interactive sound immersion tool. Create infinite mix combinations from five different loops of varied lengths for endless playback. These sounds have been extracted from the heart of Steve Roach’s soundworlds and carefully chosen for a congruent relationship allowing the user to sculpt constantly changing ambient music.

The Immersion Station interface and application, created by Software Artist Eric Freeman (working closely with Steve), allows you to mix loops using a simple, intuitive, interactive and organic interface that is reflective of Steve's work. I know this app has been around for years but i just need to write a review, for probably the past 8 or 9 years i have used this app or one of the other immersion stations (but mostly this one) to go to bed. i have gotten to a point where i can’t sleep without it, it’s my favorite i love it so much 10/10 recommend, i’ve even gotten friends to download this app so they can fall asleep 😊

Some nice evolving soundscapes in this but for me it would be so much more usable if it could be opened in AUM so I could manipulate them further and add my own sounds to create a unique track. Maybe even some more controls within the app would be good, such as filter cutoff and resonance. It’s a great app for just listening but if it also served as an instrument it would have got 5 stars.
Maybe some food for thought and a possible update ? 😊

Of all of the Immersion stations, this my absolute favorite.  The moment I started the app, I felt instant joy. It’s perfect for sleeping, meditating and studying. I love the ability to create my own mixes to compliment whatever I’m doing.

As a fan of Steve Roach's Immersion series of CDs, I find this especially satisfying. Now the atmosphere can go on and on, and with the generative process it can keep evolving. It's the perfect soundtrack to any kind of brain work as well as meditation. The ability to arrange the modules into a pleasing mix and save your favorite results makes it far more versatile than a CD and keeps it fascinating.
