## What is STFUAI Podcast Ad?

STFUAI is a podcast player that skips the parts you did not ask for. It downloads episodes like any podcatcher, then skips advertising, self-promotion, intros and outros, and closing credits on your device at playback time.

The episode downloads from the publisher or podcast host. Detected sections are skipped locally during playback, and the original audio is not rewritten or redistributed.

Features:
- Automatic skipping of four kinds of segment: advertising, self-promotion, intros and outros, and closing credits. Each one is a switch you control, either everywhere or for one show.
- A real player underneath: search, RSS and OPML import, a queue that syncs with your account, playback speed, sleep timers that can stop at the end of a chapter or the end of an episode, and lock screen and Control Center controls.
- Every skipped segment listed with its type, its time range, a confidence figure and a short summary.
- Chapters detected for episodes whose feed publishes none.
- Re-analyze an episode when a detection looks wrong.

How it works:
Add an episode to your queue. The app downloads it, sends it for analysis, and marks the skippable segments. During playback it jumps past them. You can still inspect what was skipped, replay a segment, or change what gets skipped.

An account is required, because your queue and your saved positions live with the account rather than on one phone. Analyses run on our servers and each account has a weekly allowance; playing, downloading, queueing and syncing all work without analyzing anything.

Questions or feedback? Join the Discord community at https://discord.stfuai.com or visit https://stfuai.com.

Note: detection accuracy varies by language, audio quality and show format. You can re-analyze an episode, or seek by hand, when a detection is wrong.

Pricing: The player is free to use, including playback, downloads, queueing, syncing, and skipping analyzed episodes. Each account includes a free analysis allowance. Optional App Store subscriptions increase that allowance. The Subscription screen shows current allowances, prices, and billing periods before you subscribe.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.7.17 — 2026-11-04

On Android, long queues take less work per tap, the app stops re-sending audio the analysis service already has, and leftover audio from an earlier sign-in gets cleared.

Bug fixes

- Long queues take less work on Android. A queue refresh used to treat every episode as changed, rebuilding playback data, re-reading the file details of downloaded episodes, and redrawing the Queue tab's loaded rows. A refresh that changes nothing, or only moves your playback position, now skips all of that. A refresh that changes an episode or the queue order still rebuilds playback data, without re-reading downloads the app has already verified.
- Less work per tap on long queues. On Android, Play, Pause and Rewind no longer make the app rebuild its copy of your whole queue, as long as the queue and the current episode have not changed since the last refresh. Returning to the app, or pressing Play on a stopped player, still refreshes it.
- Android stops re-sending audio already received. When an episode's audio reached the analysis service but the phone got an error or no reply, the app kept sending the file again, and the repeats were refused because the file was already there. Now the app treats that refusal as a finished upload and asks for the analysis to start. This covers automatic and tapped analyses. A file whose first reply was lost is normally sent once more, because that second send is how the app finds out.
- Old audio cleared after signing back in. On Android, signing back in on the same account makes the audio from your previous sign-in unusable, and some of it, such as starred downloads and episodes you had moved past, used to stay on your phone. Now, once you sign back in after this update and the app has set up your queue on this phone, a later start of the app, including one in the background, deletes the audio from the sign-in you replaced. Audio from a sign-in you replaced before this update stays, so updating alone clears nothing. Signed-out downloads are left alone, and the cleanup does not run while you are signed out.

Back-end changes

- Fewer analysis failures from storage problems. If our storage service has a brief problem just after an episode's audio finishes uploading, the analysis now tries again before giving up. Before, one failed try ended that attempt and the audio had to be sent again. A longer storage problem can still end the attempt, with the credit returned. This change is on our side and already applies without an app update.

Minor tweaks

- More detail in bug reports. On Android, reports emailed from View Debug Logs now include timings for recent queue updates.

### 2.7.16 — 2026-11-01

Queue dragging is steadier, Android account recovery and playback controls respond more smoothly, and episode menus stay usable on smaller screens.

Bug fixes

- Steadier queue dragging. Episode-detail updates no longer interrupt an active queue drag. On Android, queue moves also preserve unrelated changes made while the move is pending.
- Smoother Android account recovery. Reduced repeated account-check work during startup and when returning to the app. Signing out also recovers more reliably when account storage responds late.
- Faster Android playback controls. Reduced delays when using playback controls after returning to the app, especially with a longer queue.
- Library actions stay right-aligned. The star, Add RSS, and Feed buttons keep their right alignment while fitting within narrower screens.
- Episode menus stay within the screen. Long episode-action menus can scroll while their close buttons stay visible on smaller screens.
- More reliable download recovery. On Android while signed in, tapping Play can finish re-downloading a missing or damaged file without automatic download checks restarting it, including automatic starred downloads with Keep starred episodes downloaded on. Playback starts afterward unless you use another playback control, the download waits for a connection, storage, or a retry, or Android stops the app. Skipping to it while paused loads it paused.

Minor tweaks

- More detail in bug reports. Reports emailed from View Debug Logs now include recent touch and queue-move activity and account-check timings. On Android while signed in, they also include more specific reasons for recent file-check failures on downloaded episodes.

### 2.7.15 — 2026-11-01

This update helps Android playback changes finish syncing after a slow startup.

Bug fixes

- Playback updates retry after cloud restore. On Android, queued playback updates retry automatically when startup cloud restoration finishes. Debug logs distinguish restoration still in progress from failed requests.

### 2.7.14 — 2026-10-31

This release fixes Android analysis for episodes with missing length information and reduces delays in playback controls.

Bug fixes

- Analyze episodes with missing length information. On Android, downloaded episodes can now be analyzed even when their feed omits the episode length.
- More responsive Android playback controls. Reduced delays when using Play, Pause, or seeking within the app while episode details update in the background.

### 2.7.13 — 2026-10-30

Player controls fit narrow screens, lists clear the mini player, and enlarged text stays usable. iPhone gains listening controls and complete podcast archives.

Features & changes

- iPhone listening controls. Supported builds offer volume boost and silence skipping. Completed silence skips count toward time saved.
- Complete iPhone archives. Supported builds browse large podcast archives in either date order, beyond the recent-episode preview.
- Google sign-in on iPhone. Configured iPhone builds offer Google sign-in.
- More offline listening on iPhone. Unplayed queued episodes can download beyond the automatic analysis window, including while analysis waits to retry.

Bug fixes

- Narrow player controls fit. Spacing tightens first, then a chevron holds Speed, Podcast, Sleep and Done. Playback stays centered; the menu fits the screen and closes on outside taps.
- Lists clear the mini player. Library, Search, Discover, Settings, Queue, Feed and podcast details leave room for its height, including enlarged text.
- Dialogs fit smaller windows. Speed and detail dialogs resize. Enlarged timer controls wrap; sharing actions scroll above the keyboard.
- Larger text fits at launch. Library, sign-in, Settings and Queue controls wrap. Email gets its own line; Android tab labels use two lines above system navigation.
- Discover loads trending podcasts. Fixed an Android request timeout that could prevent trending podcasts from loading.
- Startup account checks recover. Returning to the app retries a failed saved-account check while preserving the account and downloads.
- Podcast pages use publisher addresses. Subscribed podcasts with case-sensitive feed addresses now open correctly from the player.
- Android controls restore during queue updates. Concurrent background queue updates no longer reject restored playback controls.
- Discovery keeps saved progress. With automatic queue additions enabled, Android uses saved progress to reduce old episodes returning after restore. Syncing complete discovery history preserves newer progress from other installations. Pending additions can still arrive.
- Library loading is clearer. An empty Library shows loading while subscriptions restore or refresh.
- iPhone queue order stays intact. Playback waits for the next episode's download. Later pauses or episode selections take precedence.
- Account changes preserve newer logins. Delayed sign-out and refresh cannot replace a newer login. Interrupted cleanup waits for saved account details. iPhone sign-in details stay in protected storage.
- Fresh notification taps work. New notifications open the queue after earlier notifications for the same episode were tapped. iPhone sign-out removes that login's notifications.
- iPhone file cleanup survives restarts. Retried cleanup preserves replacement downloads.
- Android queue recovery retries. Returning after failed startup queue recovery preserves saved episodes and listening progress while retrying.
- Older Android settings sync again. Changed settings from older versions no longer block background work during account migration.
- Analyses resume after required updates. Android resumes paused analyses after opening the updated app or confirming the update is no longer required, even with background sync paused. Upload network restrictions still apply.
- iPhone playback saves recover together. Interrupted saves finish on reopening, keeping queue and playback details together.
- Repaired iPhone downloads keep your place. Replacing the current episode's file preserves position and respects a later pause.

Back-end changes

- More analysis capacity. Episode transcription can use additional capacity when the usual capacity is busy. This is already active for all app versions.

Minor tweaks

- Controls match the platform. Restore previews reflect available audio features. Share and back icons match the device; Android's timer sheet no longer suggests an unsupported drag gesture.
