You can barely set up an account and create a goal. Multiple steps stall out and don’t work. It’s such a bummer because there’s no one else who will let you add financial consequences, which helps so much with motivation! Forfeit is a way better functioning app, but they don’t let you actually *forfeit* anything if you don’t meet your goals. : / ### 3/5 — Good idea, but few options where money goes to *2025-05-18, version 2.43* They removed the ‚friend/foe‘ option, where the money would go to a friend’s paypal, that’s very unfortunate in my opinion. You can also not choose a charity yourself, which just doesn’t sit right with me, especially because with the anti-charities you can choose individual ones. I don’t get it. ### 3/5 — Glitchy app fails to send notifications *2025-03-23, version 2.43* First of all, the methodologies that stickK uses are phenomenal for building new habits. My complaint isn’t with their system, but with this application. Despite having notifications “on” in the app, and on the settings in my phone, it fails to send me a reminder notifications to report. This is led to multiple failed reporting periods and thus donations to my anti- charity. This is pretty frustrating since I am keeping up the habit that I Set out to accomplish. ### 3/5 — Slow *2025-02-21, version 2.40* Hoping this improves. ### 2/5 — Where has the charity you like option gone?! *2024-06-03, version 2.40* I have found this app useful in the past however I logged on just now to set another goal and the option to loose your money to a charity has gone, now only an anti charity which I don’t find motivating at all. It’s just kind of depressing and not a positive experience for me personally. I had to choose an anti charity I support but I hate the fact it is labelled as my anti charity! My password will not work due to a data leak and the app won’t let me reset it. I’m still being “charged” for not reporting on time even though I’ve been trying. Disappointed 🙁 ### 1/5 — ITS STEALING MY MONEY *2023-03-13, version 2.40* DO NOT DOWNLOAD this app! I’ve been using stickK for a while now but all of a sudden it’s now just charging $30 me every day for my goal, even though I’ve been checking in every day saying I have accomplished my goal. This app is horrible and needs to be removed from the App Store. I’ve reported it to Apple as a scam, and I recommend everyone who has had their money unfairly taken from them to do the same. ### 1/5 — Be careful *2023-03-12, version 2.40* Reports don’t work correctly, so they will steal your money even if you reach your goals. Support doesn’t answer. And you cannot cancel commitments or card. As for me it looks like scam. Customer service is non existent- no response whatsoever and there is no way to cancel without them. I have sent four emails and left four voicemails and have not heard a response. I was charged for not reporting, but my mom never received the money. I don’t know where it went. I had tried logging in on the app and through the web and it didn’t work. My password never changed and I was able to log in some days and not others. I contacted customer service and received no answer. I want to cancel my account and have not been able to. I have been charged everyday I have not been able to login. This is not right!! I really don't like that you have to log in everytime and it is so slow. Just make a thumb or face recognition like other apps to log-in if you need to make it secure. ### 4/5 — Forfeit is better *2023-01-21, version 2.40* I like the whole concept of these. However, $5 per checkin is ridiculous. I can do a checkin with forfeit only with $1. Also, the support staff for StickK is super rude. At least with forfeit, you can set the firmness of your commitments. I think in total that forfeit is significantly better. ### 2/5 — Just do it yourself *2022-11-24, version 2.37* It mostly works for what it is, but seriously consider just giving the money yourself, rather than committing it through this app. If you make a mistake and forget to mark your commitment as complete in a particular week, or if THEIR systems go down, you’ve now lost money that’s very difficult to get back. It is not an easy task to get their customer service to respond, and every reply from them takes several days. I’ve been mistakenly charged $$$ and haven’t been able to contact their customer service team. They don’t answer anything. Don’t risk your money with them! ### 1/5 — Bring back the option to add friends as stake recipient *2024-11-09, version 2.40* This was recommended everywhere because of the ability to add friends as the recipient of a stake which was a major differentiator but you now removed it making the app way less useful. This is now the same as other apps like forfeit. ### 1/5 — Absolute Mess *2024-09-26, version 2.40* The UI in some parts of this app are just bad. It feels like I’m scrolling through a tabloid website. They also force you to make an account including demanding an email and your birth year. Its weird and extremely unnecessary for those not interested in the “social” aspects. I’ve also seen other apps do similar things in that regard without needing you to make an account. So, I’m inclined to believe this is a data harvesting technique. Then, if you try to make a “commitment” that isn't one of the three basic ones available then you have to go to an external web browser to finish the process. I’ve never seen anything like this and it was an immediate deal breaker. It’s ether pure laziness or sheer incompetence to not be able to do everything necessary in-app. Hard pass on this one ### 1/5 — Horrible customer service *2024-04-03, version 2.40* Fraudulently charged me because the entire service was down during my reporting period. Absolute joke of a company. No customer service response ### 1/5 — DO NOT USE- CAUTION *2024-04-01, version 2.40* This app will not allow me to report or reset my password. It worked for two weeks and was awesome. Then, all of a sudden, I couldn't login. I had to disable my credit card right away otherwise the app would charge me. ### 1/5 — This app is a scam *2024-01-11* They don’t tell you they will take $5 for every pledge you make, then when you complain they say they will refund but then don’t. I credit it for boosting my incentive to reduce weight, be more disciplined about exercise, keep more focused and reduce procrastination. A BIG side benefit from StickK comes when I faithfully record my weekly progress data. Simply measuring and entering data has given me the peace of mind that I am overall “moving in the right direction” - regardless of the many ups and downs that may occur from day to day. It works. It’s also simple and straightforward, nothing extra that you don’t need to distract you from actually reaching your goals. Customer service is fast to reply and very helpful.
