### 4/5 — Awesome app!

*2018-08-24*

It’s a great app all that I ask is could you add an option where you can import photos and animate them?

### 4/5 — Nice!

*2016-01-16*

This is such a powerful app,,, I'd like to see more comprehensive mouth movement editing options. Also sprite changing on characters limbs so we can assign different angle heads and segments depending on the motion.......also would like to see morph based rigs possible :) hope you still continue to update!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2015-08-23, version 2.01*

Very simple and fun!!! Love it😎

### 4/5 — Very intricate but simple animation app!

*2015-07-02*

This app is wonderful for those of us who are trying to use their own drawings as animation puppets. Stickmotion provides a bone system that is easy to use, and a UI that is polished and still simple! However, there are a few additions that may need to be made:
1. When you import a picture onto a bone, sometimes it resizes it so that it is incredibly tiny. This is fixable, as you can move the picture until it is resized to the scale you want it to be. However, this makes the bone joints go into places far away from the model, making it harder to animate. We need a button that will let us scale our pictures on the bones without moving the bones.
2. We need an option that will connect two joints together. Example: If I am creating a jointed stick an, I want to connect the shoulder joint to the collarbone joint, so that when I move the shoulder, it will move the rest of the arm, instead of only one bone by one.
3. Lastly, we need an option to choose a background/image/video for the ENTIRE animation. Going frame by frame can be hard, but useful if you are making a collage. However, if you only want one image for the entire sequence, there should be an option to fill the animation's background with only that image.

Other than that, this app is great! Thank you for making it, and keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Wonderful App

*2015-05-21*

StickMotion continues to be absolutely fun to use and it keeps getting better.

That being said, I noticed that when substituting puppet parts - which is a really great feature - a thin white outline tends to appear around the substituted images (usually when they come from the photo library I think). This is just a minor inconvenience and the app is still amazingly nice to use overall, but it would be nice if this could be fixed somehow.

Thanks again for continuing to improve this app =)!

### 5/5 — Really good

*2015-05-15*

I highly recommend it

### 5/5 — Amazing app for customized puppets!

*2015-03-19*

March 2015 UPDATE: The most recent version is even better. And finally, a few women join the cast of characters! This is my go-to app for creating animated stories with characters who primarily express themselves through body language (rather than facial expressions).

— original review from November 2013:
Don't let the name of this app fool you. It's about SO MUCH MORE than making stick figures! I was looking for an app that would let me create my own articulated puppets with multiple joints, that I could pose manually and capture in frame by frame mode, but every other animation app I tried lacked one or more of the features needed to make this work the way I wanted it to.

I finally decided to take a look at StickMotion, and was completely amazed at what it can do. The "stick man" is jut the beginning: it's the digital armature for some amazing puppetry! Once I figured that out, I realized how vastly under-priced the app is.

The interface is a bit intimidating at first, but the developer has great tutorials, and yet they only scratch the surface of what the app can actually do. I love that it comes with usable characters (esp. the fantastic dragon!), but I do wish there were a few women among them.

### 5/5 — Amazing Value!!

*2015-03-07*

To Marezeedotes - when you select an image a 'wrench' button will appear. Press it and then use your finger to position the image. It's much easier than the old sliders - they used to restrict how far you could move things :)

Great update - keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2015-03-03, version 2.0*

Love it

### 5/5 — Read My Mind

*2015-02-24*

I've been daydreaming for the last year about an app that would allow me to animate drawings & humanish-looking glitch artifacts, and this is exactly what I needed. The non-moving anchors are a nice addition to prevent the screwy over-the-top movements that would otherwise be common. Also very happy that I can run video in the background, so there's a cool multilayering of animation going on.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2015-02-24, version 1.80*

This app is hands down the BEST animating program! Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — iOS Stickmotion Pixar

*2015-02-06*

I've tried many animation apps and this just blows them out of the water. Complete fun. It's very easy to use. I use this with Sketchclub to design characters to animate as well. I'm loving this!

### 4/5 — Export Alpha Please!

*2014-12-29, version 1.80*

Finally! A good animation app. Way better than doink.

Please add the option to export to png image sequences (transparent background).

Intuitive app.
Good options for export otherwise.
Stable.

2d animation app.

### 1/5 — Glitch: Doesn’t use my headphones.

*2024-03-20*

I’d give it a much higher rating if this bug was fixed!
My headphones are connected but it’s playing out of my iPad’s speakers.
This may not be a big deal to you but to me it’s a deal breaker!

If you’re a headphones-only person like me don’t buy this app until it’s fixed. (I’m using an 8th-gen iPad btw)

### 1/5 — Boring

*2016-04-18, version 2.1.1*

Besides being boring, the talking feature does not work right when previewing the animation.

### 1/5 — A waste!

*2016-02-05*

A waste of my time, a waste of my devices charge, a waste of my money.
This app doesn't let you put parts where you would like to. It is not easy to navigate and I wish I had never brought it.

### 1/5 — Stickmotion animation

*2014-07-06*

The apps really good but I have trouble using the mouth moving thing.

### 1/5 — Needs a few things

*2013-04-07, version 1.2*

It needs to be able to rotate the body. And the animation needs to be smoother.

### 2/5 — I’m not able to find lipsynch option

*2019-01-11*

Hi, I’ve watched the tutorials on adding audio and can’t find option to add my recorded audio bit. Help

### 2/5 — Great but...

*2014-04-24, version 1.70*

Could you fix the duplicating glitch please? It duplicates a frame and it looks really cheesy...

### 3/5 — Ummmmm

*2018-07-17*

IDK

### 3/5 — THIS APP IS MESSED UP

*2018-06-26*

This app is messed up its more confusing than it has to be

### 3/5 — ...

*2016-08-22, version 2.1.1*

It would definitely be better if it was possible to make characters with four legs.

### 5/5 — Videos Should Help

*2022-06-26, version 2.3*

I gave a pretty bad review the last time. I have faith. I am adding something positive to this. I have found a very helpful-looking website where the developer has some great-looking tutorials. I am going there again later and I am going to try those out. Those tutorials are for the brand new app that the developer has designed. It looks really nice and I might just buy it. I just hope that I won't be sorry. I thought that even though the tutorials are for the new app, they might help me as well. I will update my review as soon as I feel that I have something to add. I am leaving my previous review up for reference. Thanks to the developer for all the hard work that has been put into both apps. It really is a great app for those who know more about animation. I have a lot to learn.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: After owning this app for at least a year, I still can't figure out how it works. It seems that if I want to animate a PNG photo that I import, I have to cut the arms and legs off of the figure first, and then bring each part into the app, then animate it. But first I have to draw some blue lines around a dot in the center of one of the blank screens. Sometimes the arms, legs or head will somehow get attached to the part of the main body of the blue lines. Does that make sense to you? I'm sure that most people know something about how this app works. It was very nice of the developer to post video tutorials on YouTube, but I have not found one that actually describes how a beginner can create a useful animation unless it's a Knight in Shining Armor. I've read the tutorials, but still I do not understand. I will keep trying until I turn blue in the face.

### 5/5 — Wrong app review

*2020-08-05*

### 5/5 — It’s good but...

*2019-07-25*

It’s a good app but there’s one thing. I can’t watch the animation! I made an animation but I can’t watch THE ANIMATION AHHHHHHHH!!! I want a refund cuz it no work

### 5/5 — Excellent Super Great Phenomenal App

*2018-08-17, version 2.2*

This is a great, great App. I know because it was one of those apps that after downloaded, I couldn’t stop playing with it. Animation has always fascinated me, from the Disney, Warner Brothers, AAP television movies I grew up on to the current Fox, Comedy Central shows. Animation is just a door into another world. For years I’ve tried animation programs. Nothing really had enough power in a simple form to make it interesting for long. The Amiga back in the 90’s was a lot of promise but the computers just couldn’t handle the job. Then came a lot of other programs that came and went through the years. Now with IOS 11 the computer power is there, the internet and YouTube are there, the price is unbeatable. I’m really digging deep into my creative mind with this tool. The programmer is also exceptionally kind and responsive. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2016-07-10*

This game is easy and fun. I love it so much. My favorite thing is the lip syncing. The animations I make on here look professional. I love it so much that I am getting the pro version. Thank you so much Stephen Keen.

### 5/5 — EPIC!

*2016-06-27*

Amazing App To Animate! Easy To Use! And the lip sync is perfect!

### 5/5 — Simple, sweet

*2016-01-18*

Refreshing my review.

If you want to produce some really great looking animations, get this app. It's easy to use (and has amazingly well-written instructions), and most important, it's fun to use. I've been playing a bit today and have produced footage that looks as good as most anything you see on Cartoon Network.

Really fun app. I can't recommend it highly enough.

OLD REVIEW FROM 2014:

Adding on to my first impressions after this newest update.

This app is really powerful. It's very easy to set up complex characters and to animate them. The newly added tweener feature is a great time-saver to produce smooth animation, allowing you to animate on the twos or threes and then let the software calculate the in-betweens.

The developer is responsive to e-mail, and clearly loves this app and wants it to be the best tool it can be. It's really very well done.

My original review (short as it is):

Just downloaded it. Super simple, smooth interface, easy to use.

Details later. But buy it!

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2015-11-28, version 2.1.1*

Awesome app. :)

### 5/5 — Amazing but one thing

*2015-09-14*

I have been doing lots of audio recording for sound effects but when I do this it take time.I do know that it's shows how to import audio by taping the question mark button the thing is I don't know how to get it in the first place so can you make a tutorial on how to on your website.

### 5/5 — Rivaled with StickNodes as the best Animation App on iOS

*2015-09-09*

This app is perfect... It's extremely easy and fun to use. I love creating figures to use. However, you should add an art studio so we can draw parts for our characters. This app is worth the money, coming from a guy who had the app for a year now. Never deleted it, and never will.
