Using this mostly for podcasts hosted on audiobookshelf, this is a level way above what I’m used to for indie-developed client apps of self-hosted services. I’m struck by the exceptionally clean UI (it has a coherent and well executed design philosophy), underneath which there is a surprisingly robust feature set. It is a better experience than the web app for audiobookshelf (which does work reasonably well in mobile browser) and even a serious rival to huge podcast apps with millions of users. And it’s just free, from an upstart Chinese dev? I’m so impressed it makes me a little paranoid.

I don't write reviews, but good open source deserves recognition.  The fact that this isn't the official audio bookshelf app, and the official one is still in beta and you can't even join it at the time of this writing because it's full, astounds me.  Audio bookshelf devs should give up and just ask the developer of this app if this can be the official one, it's that good.

I’ve tried most of the client apps for Audiobookshelf and this is definitely my favourite one so far.

I’m using it for reading epubs in ABS as well as audiobooks.

I wanted an ABS player that is able to download content without hiding that feature behind a paywall. Instead, I donated the in app purchase after trying this player because the app was free for everything I needed. I hope this culture will come back to app devs, because other apps may have gotten my money when just providing a donation instead of feature purchase (even though you get some more feature unlocks when doing the in app donation). Great app, love the minimalistic design, syncs reliable with server playback when occasionally listening on the browser and then coming back to the app.

五星支持一下个人开发者，但这应用用起来很局限啊，我就是用来听下载的有声书，但排序只有发布日期，在网页上的时候按的是名称排序，进入应用排序就全乱了，建议还是公测一下再发布。。我用了三分钟就好几个bug，点击继续播放后播放时长改变了，但没有声音，我切网页发现跳过了5分钟左右，播放时底部播放器点击也无反应，不知道是我设备问题不。设备iPadair第三代，系统18.0.1。

**Developer response:** 感谢反馈，书籍排序请到书籍列表，这个和网页版本才是同步的。
其他问题建议更新 iOS 版本到 18.6，如仍有问题请到App设置-关于-反馈

更新最新版本以后体验更好了，功能已经是竞品里最完善的了。现在就是会凭证过期自动登出，不太了解是服务端的设置还是客户端的设置。

**Developer response:** 自动登出是abs服务端已知的一个bug，一般是多设备登录或者使用代理场景比较容易触发。需要等ABS服务端解决。

导航播报时，目前是暂停播放，待导航结束后再重新播放，而且重新播放时会回退几秒钟。遇上导航连续播报的时候，经常媒体会一句话来回反复很多次，比较影响听感。其他app正常应该是媒体音量减小导航音量继续播放，希望这块能优化调整

**Developer response:** 这是一个设计选择，有声书和播客需要保证听清内容，而不像是音乐 App 一样作为背景音。目前主流的有声书和播客 App 包括 Apple 自带以及 Audible/ Spotify 等都是一样的逻辑。

如果你想实现导航时不打断播放，其实是可以在你的导航 App 中设置的， 比如高德设置入口在：我的-设置-全部导航设置-更多设置-CarPlay 设置-选择媒体音道

I have tried I think a minimum of five of the top audiobookshelf apps on iOS, and by far Still is the cleanest looking in terms of the aesthetics, and it seems to work the best in terms of syncing with my server and across my devices. The syncing is actually what pushed me to try out new apps because I had some errors with other apps on the store.

I love this app thank you so much to the developer for creating this beauty!

Purchased a paid version after reading in description that custom api headers are supported. 
Well, clearly they are not. 
Requested a refund. 
Such a shame.

**Developer response:** Custom headers are supported. Sorry for the confusion. The entry point is admittedly a bit hidden. On the login page, tap the icon to the left of the server URL field to configure custom headers.

补充说明一下：iOS 电池页里的百分比是当前统计时段内的耗电占比，不一定等同于手机实际掉电比例。

如果想更准确对比，可以在充满电后尽量只使用希声后台播放一段时间，再看实际电量变化。我这边用 iPhone 16，iOS 26.5，电池最大容量 94% 测试，后台播放2 小时 实际掉电 2%.

The application has always worked well and the developer is actively working to deploy updates. However, very recently, a new version has turned everything upside down and it is currently impossible for me to open my books. When I select a book, the application indicates "Unable to open this EPUB at the moment".

**Developer response:** Hi Martin, sorry you're running into this! The 1.3.3 update didn't change how EPUBs are handled, so this seems to be an isolated issue. It usually happens when the app can't properly download or read the file from your server (often due to proxy, network, or file format issues).

To help me pinpoint the exact cause, could you reproduce the error, then go to Still > Settings > About, tap the logo 5 times to export your diagnostic logs, and use "Send Feedback" to open a GitHub issue. I'll take a look right away!

Logged in, Login expired and logged me out, then HTTP 403 error when trying to login again.
I’m using external Domain with Pangolin Proxy.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the trouble. In the latest version (1.0.3) I’ve fixed a bug that could cause the login session to expire unexpectedly, so please try updating Still and see if that part is resolved.

For the HTTP 403 error, it might be related to the server or proxy setup. To rule that out, please try logging into the Audiobookshelf web UI from the same domain and network (with Pangolin) and see if it works there. If the issue only happens in the app, you can export the error log from the error screen and send it to me at iam@netineti.space so I can look into it in more detail.

Have been using the app for hours and have bought the premium, but lately I have notices that my progress gets reset when I resume playback after a couple of hours of not listening. Happens at random intervals, I can be on chapter 70 then hit play and the book starts at chapter one making me have to figure out where I was listening

Excellent app but this bug makes it impossible for me to use.  Only about half of the complete list so about 100
Other IOS and Android audiobookshelf apps don’t do this.

在网页端可以正常播放自建服务器上的wma格式小说，但是app端正常连接，就是不能正常播放，是没有付费的原因吗？

**Developer response:** 你好，这个和付费没关系哈，iOS 原生不支持 wma 格式，浏览器可以播放是因为依赖服务端转码，由于转码体验不佳，希声目前都是直接本地播放，所以无法播放 wma 格式，建议直接在 abs 服务端编辑书籍的工具部分转成有声书专用的 m4b 格式。书籍太大的话可以考虑转成 m4a 等 iOS 支持友好的格式

能不能把设定睡眠时间，搬到锁屏后的状态栏上来？这样如果设定时间内还没睡着，可以直接继续增加时间，而不是黑漆漆的去解锁屏幕再重新设置睡眠时间。

**Developer response:** 你好，目前希声是支持睡眠定时器和继续播放的快捷指令的，锁屏或者控制中心都可以放一个睡眠定时器的快捷指令来实现你的需求。另外也可以设置成其他更方便的方式，比如轻点背面，操作按钮或者 NFC 标签...

I tried this app and decided to purchase it within ten minutes - it's exactly what I've been looking for. 

It's clean, it's clear, it does what I need it to. It's brilliant. 

One of the very few things I'd like to add is a 'dark mode' - the screens are nice and clear but that means that there is a lot of 'white'. 

If there were a way to switch to a dark mode of black as the background it would be better for battery usage, aesthetics and the eye.

But this is the best audiobook and podcast app that I have tried across six years of looking.

Currently, the app's dark mode automatically follows your system settings. I'll look into adding a manual switch for it in the next version to give you better control.

Great app for reading and listening! The developer is very responsive to feedback and bug reports, which is rare and much appreciated. For me, it’s simply the best app for books. Highly recommended!

I tried all mobile apps for Audiobookshelf what I could find on the App Store, including the native beta. This one is just perfect. No glitches with CarPlay. Skip forward/skip back buttons work right in my car. I have never had any problem with sync my books across different devices. The user interface is clear and very comfortable. Very easy to switch between multiple libraries and even Audiobookshelf accounts.
