### 4/5 — Not a dating site

*2026-08-25, version 1.7.0*

I have been so turned off by dating sites and the plethora of scammers and the lack of response to messages that I decided to try something new.

Stitch allows you to visit with people far and wide and to chat with them. There are many people from Australia and New Zealand where Stitch originated as well as the US.

There are Discussions, and Activities (real and virtual), private messaging, etc.

Maybe you’ll find your someone or maybe not. You will be welcomed into conversations with interesting people.

### 2/5 — Room for Improvement with Respect

*2026-08-25, version 1.7.0*

Stitch is a wonderful concept & is well run & fun. There are some areas for improvement. Those hosting events must understand how to & avoid inviting unsuitable members. Also, if there is inappropriate behaviour reported to a host, support must be provided to those who suffered, as well as reporting by host. Unacceptable behaviour needs to be handled much better by Stitch. Bullying & threats need zero tolerance. Trying to convince Stitch to remove members showing these behaviours has been extremely difficult. In some cases, it hasn’t even happened sadly. And why are there members still hosting events who have been reported for their abusive behaviour? There is much room for improvement and I would love to see it happen.

### 5/5 — Stitch the over 50 community for meeting people.

*2026-08-20, version 1.7.0*

What a wonderful community stitch is. It’s completely changed my life meeting so many interesting people from different backgrounds and ages who have all been very welcoming and kind. I count many as good friends now who I would never have met before who see beyond my disabilities and make it easy to join in or spectate in different activities. My advice to new members would be join a local group first before meeting one on one and give it a real chance you will never look back.

### 5/5 — MAKE NEW FRIENDS

*2026-08-20, version 1.7.0*

Someone I know recommended Stitch to me so I decided to join. The thing I enjoy the most about this over 50’s social site is the way you can create your own activities. You can also create groups of like-minded individuals interested in your particular passion. That’s great because if we are to make significant new friendships it’s important to find people we resonate with right?

Once you join Stitch there is really no excuse to be at a loss for something to do, or for a way to meet new people. There is such a variety of activities you can just select what appeals to you.

### 5/5 — Stitch review

*2026-08-18, version 1.7.0*

I joined Stitch a little over 2 years ago. The support offered by Stitch members, worldwide, is so good. Of course they can’t be in the room with me, but knowing they are there is so good.
I also have more friends now, than before I joined Stitch.
Stitch is great supportive community.

### 5/5 — Fabulous!

*2026-08-17, version 1.7.0*

I’ve been a member since 2020 and it was a lifeline when I couldn’t go out during COVID. I initially got to know people online in group activities. Since then I’ve met lots of them, from all over, in person and had many great fun times.
Stitch is a fabulous community where safety of members is a huge priority.
I’m currently meeting more people in my own area and really enjoying that. You’re never alone when you have got Stitch. The travel club is great fun too. I recently went to Bath, what a great weekend we all had.

### 5/5 — A Stitch review.

*2026-08-17, version 1.7.0*

Stitch is a great antidote for loneliness or complimenting your social life for the over 50’s.
As a Stitch member of 9 years I have made some beautiful friendships.
Stitch allows you to attend events, groups & activities to suit your personal interests.
They range from Trivia
nights, plays, coffee chats to Pickleball, music bands & travel.
I find that Stitch has enriched my life for the better & I wholeheartedly encourage you to join!

### 5/5 — Stitch Leona

*2026-08-16, version 1.7.0*

While looking for a safe social media group and listening to advise on dating after 50, I came across an interview with Andrew from ‘Stitch’. I was immediately drawn to the concept of meeting people from all over the world, women and men for friendship. I had been widowed several years before and now Covid had struck.
I joined and immediately found different groups to share my thoughts, angsts and time. After joining various groups of assorted interest and feeling safe , I am so fulfilled.
The first group I joined was “Widows and Widowers”. Previously, I had felt all alone. None of my friends had lost their spouses. My friends were able to say how devastating it must be for me, but couldn’t relate on a ‘reality’ basis. My confidence expanded and quickly I joined another group “Codenames” which was organized by one of the members of the “Widow and Widowers “ group. It has become my favorite place on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. This is through Zoom meetings and involves others from all over the world!
As my time on “Stitch” had evolved, I have joined several other groups including “Optimists Unite”, “Stoicism”, “Artists gallery”, “Dating after 50” and so many more! The people I have been acquainted with are amazing. We are from all different backgrounds and all contribute to each other’s knowledge. This had relieved me of my loneliness during these very trying times. My family has noticed how I treasure these moments and hear about different acquaintances. It has really been amazing. Support, understanding, fun, laughter, cultural thoughts and social activities are a few words that come to my mind when I think of “Stitch”!

### 5/5 — Social connections

*2026-08-16, version 1.7.0*

The stitch community has helped me to improve the quality of my life through the connections that are built over time. Like most things the more you participate the better you feel. The activities that you can join and participate in are varied and run by hosts who take the time to introduce you and help you feel comfortable. Most people are like you looking for connections and friendships and to enjoy activities with the company of others. It is simple but effective. It breaks loneliness. And makes you smile.

### 5/5 — Stitch

*2026-08-16, version 1.7.0*

I have been a member of Stitch for some time now and cherish the friendship and connections I have made through Stitch. I know of Stitch members who have made a relationship work from different continents and eventually being one in the best place in the world Australia. The best part is everyone in Stitch is real. No fakes that last past the honeymoon period. Friendship and relationships are hard at the best of times. All the best for those seeking friendship and romance.

### 4/5 — Stitch

*2026-08-15, version 1.7.0*

Connections, meet n greet in whatever location, context or event that suits you. So many to choose from to experiment till you feel your vibe and meet your people. Do as much or as little. You’ll be welcomed by fellow stitchers. Give it a go. Lifesaver for so many in our beautiful city.

### 5/5 — Great social media site

*2026-08-13, version 1.7.0*

Ever so thankful that I cam across Stitch, brilliant site.
I have met and communicated with so many wonderful people and have loved every minute.
Absolutely highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Perfect for connecting virtually

*2026-08-13, version 1.7.0*

This is a great site for meeting other humans, not just looking for dates, though that happens too for many.
I have found the discussions to be a great and easy way to wade into relearning social skills after a long absence due to life circumstances. (Covid being one)
While some may express frustration with the site because they are expecting the same old same old dating site behaviors - I would urge anyone who is lonely and wanting make friends to try out the discussions and virtual activities then move into IRL activities if that is your cup of tea. Lot’s of fun, real people just like you are there.
This site has been life changing for me. I hope everyone finds it.

### 5/5 — A superior way to meet new friends

*2026-08-12, version 1.7.0*

I joined Stitch over 10 years ago and have made new friends both in the US and the UK . It offers much more than meet up or dating sites and I have made lifelong friends.

### 5/5 — Stitch

*2026-08-11, version 1.7.0*

I have been a long time member of Stitch and I enjoy it a lot. There are so many activities-online games, exercise classes, meditation groups, book clubs, etc. I also belong to a local group for in-person activities where we go out to eat, see a movie, etc. There is something for everyone.

### 5/5 — Member 6 years

*2026-08-09, version 1.7.0*

I’ve been a Stitch member for about 9 years. There are different geographical groups you can join within the Stitch group. I’m a member of 4 groups. For the first 3 years I went to social activities often. Have always felt safe attending because it’s not a dating or meet-up group and I can socialise as I want. It’s about the conversation with everyone attending if I want to or I can watch the entertainment that we’ve gone to see. There is no pressure to meet a new partner although that does happen for some. I tend to do the breathing/meditation these days online but I’m excited to meet an art group soon. I’ve told many of my single friends about Stitch and they’ve joined & also enjoyed the variety of activities to choose from. Some have made new friends. I have no need to join other outside groups because Stitch has offered me so much socially. I have never felt lonely in any activity that I’ve attended. People are always friendly. Anne

### 5/5 — Best Activity App Out There

*2026-08-07, version 1.7.0*

I’ve been a member for about 8 years now because it has been the best experience I have had with attending and hosting activities. I love how the system prevents or weeds out profiles that aren’t real people or people who just want to cause drama or havoc. If you’re looking for people who want to spend time with others in a relaxed environment then you’ve found your space. There are so many varied activities to attend or create that I’m very confident you will find who or what you are looking for.

### 4/5 — Convenient

*2026-07-19, version 1.7.0*

It’s a great tool to find people in your area.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Mss

*2026-08-21, version 1.7.0*

Its only natural we have a sway , in ups and downs when socialising although generally its what we make of stitch that counts
You are doing a wonderful Job with all that you do Andrew

### 1/5 — Poor design, interlink within app between pages weak

*2026-08-03, version 1.7.0*

The app and admin folks are poor.
I enjoy the stitch group I am part of, however, when I texted Scott about an issue, he basically replied, not my job. Didn’t forewarn the issue to the developer or admins, just said I needed to reach out to some unknown admin weenie and that he wasn’t involved with the webpage app design or functions. Very lame.

The app doesn’t flow well internally between pages, and finding activities can be a challenge.

The external links and notifications are inconsistent in functionality.

Because they red flag any person sending personal information, I have gotten in trouble with the site admin. They want people to connect, but only thru their site which is bulky. I use group chats in WhatsApp, with people I’ve met thru stitch because it is much easier to communicate and stay in touch.

Again, I enjoy the group I connected with, but the CEO, admin folks, and app support staff are weak, hence the one star.

I’m sure that this review will get me flagged again as the CEO just published a message to give it 5 star reviews because the 1 star reviews they get are fake or from non subscribers. That should tell him that the the site isn’t friendly to first time user, and subscribers just put up with the ridiculous stream app issues. Instead he blows off negative reviews as fake. Just like he blew me off when I reached out to him.

### 1/5 — Privacy violated before I even used the app

*2026-05-10, version 1.7.0*

EDIT: thank you for the response. I will leave my review at 1 star because almost nothing in this app intended for connection between people is available without putting up a payment. Non-profit or no, private or no, it's too difficult to use this service to even determine whether it's worth the money.

ORIGINAL: I haven't got more spam in years than I did in the 4 days after I downloaded this app. I didn't even use the same email for my registration as I do for my App Store account. Either there was a crazy coincidence in the world of spam email, or this app is to blame.

### 1/5 — Deceptive marketing tactics

*2026-01-19, version 1.7.0*

First you sign up and build a profile. Then they tell you that you need to be verified. Once you do what they say to verify, then they tell you it could take up to 24 hours to verify you. During that time you are waiting to be verified, you can search activities in your area. A bunch will show up unlocked (the ones you can do for free without joining). In my area the ones I could access free were mixed virtual and in person. I clicked on 3 meals out, 1 coffee outing, and one take a walk outing that were all unlocked. You get excited about meeting people face to face. Then you get the “You’re Verified” email. Yay! Then you go back in the app and guess what? All the in person ones are now locked or gone, and only virtual ones remain like learn to crochet??!!!! This is a marketing SCAM to bait you, hook you, and get you to join.

### 1/5 — Messy

*2025-12-17, version 1.7.0*

I’m curious about something. Do you guys actually use your own app? You don’t see anything wrong with it? I don’t think this app is user friendly at all. Any time I want to find an event I have to scroll through a million virtual events to get to what I want. Why don’t you guys separate those from the rest? There are a lot more issues with this app which I don’t have the energy to get into. I keep thinking you will do more updates to fix all the problems but you guys rarely do updates. I don’t get it. My advice is to USE your own app to realize what the problems are.

### 1/5 — Poor content moderation

*2025-10-03, version 1.5.0*

Allows nasty content in group discussions

### 1/5 — Lousy customer service and pricey

*2025-08-09, version 1.5.0*

The concept sounds great . I have a problem with my subscription and customer service has not responded so far and it’s been a week. I don’t see filters to filter out men . Also, you’re being rated constantly by other people so it’s almost better to have less contacts.

### 1/5 — Avoid at all costs

*2025-06-08, version 1.5.0*

Horrible experience and a total waste of money. Don’t bother putting information in about the type of person you’d like to meet. I’m 65 and had geriatric men in their late 70s message me. Men shorter than me. Men with disabilities. Stitch ignores your preferences. Then the activities are horrible. Mainly women. Plus these women are nasty. High school mean girls. Very clicky as they’ve made friends earlier so you’re not in their groups. The same men keep going to the activities so you’ve got no chance of meeting anyone new.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2024-06-29, version 1.3.3*

Don’t bother the platform has been usurped in virginia by political and religious proselytizing. Very unwelcoming to L GBT

### 1/5 — Rip Off

*2024-05-06, version 1.3.3*

The app doesn’t mention it costs $40 a month for full access. Not worth a fraction of that. Layout is terrible and they get all your info to sell before they tell you the cost.

### 5/5 — Stitch

*2026-08-20, version 1.7.0*

A wonderful organisation that is like a live “Time Out”. Such a variety of activities by very different organisers each with their own personal slant/interest which means it’s impossible not to find something you’d like to do with like minded people. Highly recommended
