## What is StitchGrid?

Your cross stitch patterns are PDFs. StitchGrid turns them into a chart you can tap.

Import a chart you already own, check the grid looks right, and start stitching. Tap each stitch as the needle comes through. Put the hoop down for a month and nothing is lost. Open the app and you are exactly where you stopped.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Tap a cell to mark a stitch done. Tap again to undo.
- Drag your finger to mark a whole row in one go.
- Mark backstitch too. Tap a line, or drag along it to do a whole run.
- Tap a color in the legend to light up every stitch of that thread and see how many are left.
- Park a thread with a long press.
- See all your chart pages joined into one long chart.
- Night mode for stitching in the dark.
- Daily stitch counts and progress for every project.

GRIDS THAT ACTUALLY FIT
StitchGrid finds the grid on its own and shows it to you before you start. If it sits wrong, drag the corner handles until the blue lines match the printed grid. You can redo this later for any page, or add a page the import skipped.

NO ACCOUNT, NO SUBSCRIPTION
Pay once and it is yours. The app works with the internet switched off. Your patterns are copied into the app and stay on your device. If you want your progress on both your iPhone and iPad, it syncs through your own iCloud. Nothing goes to me. The app collects no data at all.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO YET
Scanned or photographed paper charts are not supported. The app tells you that at import instead of guessing and getting it wrong. If a normal PDF chart will not open, email me from the support page. Charts that beat the importer are exactly what I want to fix next.

### 2.2 — 2026-08-26

This update is all about backstitch. Tap a line to mark it done, or drag along it to mark a whole run at once. Each backstitch color shows how many lines are left. It works in the all-pages view too.

Grid detection got smarter, and when it misses you can now fix it yourself. Drag the corner handles to line the grid up by hand, re-calibrate any page later, or add a page the import skipped.

Also fixed: the grid check screen now opens centered on your chart, and progress numbers no longer count stray marks outside the pattern.

### 2.0 — 2026-08-03

StitchGrid 2.0 - the backstitch update.

• Backstitch marking: the chart's backstitch lines get their own tool. Tap each line as you stitch it - no other app does this.
• iCloud sync: your patterns and progress now follow you between iPad and iPhone, through your own private iCloud.
• All pages, one canvas: multi-page charts join into a single zoomable view.
• Thread parking: long-press a cell to park a color for your next session.
• Night chart mode for late-hour stitching.
• Run counter while painting, plus daily stitch stats with a finish estimate.
• Faster imports, smoother painting, and many small fixes.
