It is much better that a lot of simulators on the App Store. My only question is about dividends. Do you get paid dividends in the simulator or is that just for show? Please let me know because I don’t want to invest in certain companies if I don’t receive the dividends. ### 4/5 — Technical issues mar a great little game *2021-08-25, version 4.3* This is a fun, free lighthearted introduction to stock market investing. You play with fake currency the game provides (think monopoly and you get an idea). To play for free expect to watch movies here and there to get the fake money needed to cover commission fees, which is not a big deal considering pretty much all free games need some sort of support. My biggest issue is the technical issues I’ve encountered which recently have entailed my game losing all of the in-game currency for no apparent reason. I went to the game support but alas it appears none of the questions there have received replies! Here’s to hoping a future update fixes this. ### 5/5 — Great for beginners and beyond. *2021-08-06, version 4.3* This app is extremely easy to use if you’re starting out in the market. Before you start risking actual cash this app allows you access to the market with real results. Your only expenditures is what you’re willing to put into pseudo- dollars to place your bid. It was extremely useful for me before I enter the market to get a feel for the actual ups and downs. The numbers as paired with the market from opening to close are in real time, so I highly recommend this app which I’ve used for approximately two years, and still fine useful today. ### 4/5 — Pretty good. *2021-07-14, version 4.3* I personally love this game because it teaches a lot about the stock market and it seems very realistic. I love how you just search a business and then you can buy a share. You also have to be thinking of is you have money for this or that and look if the price is going up or down. Certainly seems to augment typical Pre-2019 stock brokers. Certainly reminds me of how brokers used to be and some firms still are. As you can only purchase whole stocks and not portions of stocks or percentages. Also appears you’re charged $50 per order of stocks when Buying and don’t know about selling. Beginner friendly though. Drawback of using the free version is a very large trade “commission” fee. If you’re just going to test certain stocks long term it’s fine, but if you want to see how you’d do as a day trader, you almost have to pay for the $0 trade option. (Free game trades cost $50 each!) I’ve used the information and education off this app to give me the confidence to finally open up my own brokerage account and start using my savings to invest in tech, dividend, and growth stocks. As a rookie in this app I got carried away and invested my money is companies that eventually lost money. I realized my mistakes and started making adjustments to see my chart grow back up after falling hard. So far this is the best one out there and the only way you can pay money is if you want money back from investments. I do recomend. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 2/5 — What happened to the video you could watch for a few dollars *2019-09-10, version 3.1* Before the update there was a feature where you can watch a video for a few dollars if you couldn’t make the commission cost for trades. Now they force you to buy money or buy commission free trades. This is suppose to be a virtual stock market yet they are forcing you to spend money when low on cash. In fact I’m not low i just have $4.65 and commission cost is $5 and the rest of the “net worth” is tied up in investments. So I wish they could add this feature again so I can get a few dollars just to make commission. I’m not spending money on this app and I don’t want to be forced to stop using it bc of a few cents that is required for commission. ### 2/5 — Unfriendly Update *2019-08-06, version 3.0* this past update has made the ability to see how much you’ve made in % and $ impossible to see. The text font is too big for total cost and total gain so you cannot see the $ amount made/ loss. At least this is an issue for an iphone6s user. Tried playing around with text size in my phone settings and it doesnt adjust anything in the app. Rest of the app is cool, i just like to see over time how much the investment has progressed. ### 3/5 — It’s good… but *2022-12-19, version 4.3* Trust me this app is really good and I like it’s simplicity of it and how easy it is to understand but 1 thing that made me want to give it 3 stars is that I don’t know if it’s just me but the stocks are not based of real and live stocks happening right then, and when I go to yahoo finance they have a live monitor of they stocks which is very helpful but I’ll go look at those then come back to they virtual stock it’s not updated and not the same as yahoo finance says and I am leaning towards yahoo finance on being correct cause there trusted and more well known, and i have turned my phone off all the way, went out of they app, closed they app i have trued everything and it still rarely matches real live stocks! ### 3/5 — Dons review *2022-10-20, version 4.3* I just recently started readinf up on stocks which i should have been doing years ago. When the stock split happened, the shares went down to 420ish. That’s supposed to happen. But I’m also supposed to have 50 stocks now because it divided by 5 the price but then multiplied my shares by 5. So now I’m showing a major loss even though I’m missing my shares. As advertised, you are given virtual money which you then use to trade stocks. However, there are a couple of ways that the app could be better. I would suggest that you add the ability to trade other types of investments; (ie you should add commodities and foreign currencies) to the app. Also, you should add bond trading to the app. So, while the app is good overall it needs more trading options. ### 3/5 — NEED HELP!!!! *2018-07-27, version 2.2* I got this and was doing good and some stocks made some money but I have $0.78 and when I try to trade the stock it says insufficient funds so it makes it useless if I can't trade stocks that have gone up! I am not sure how to fix this or use the profit from the stocks that went up in the trade. Not to bad but it has little customization and no settings...I can't to remember exactly what stock it was but when I tried buying it it crashed every time so there are a few bugs but overall it's an OK app. **Developer response:** If you go to the Bank view, you can earn free virtual cash through rewarded videos. This will help you overcome the insufficient cash alert. Really sorry for the inconvenience. Like i but stuff but then sometimes it doesn’t change and I sell cause nothing is happening and I sell it for the exact same price I bought it for, but some other times I make a lot of money. I started about a year ago. I believe I made informed choices. However, today is the first day my portfolio gained overall. Losses linger. Then suddenly one or two stocks will increase super fast. The gains seem extreme, too fast, and then short lived before losing again. I guess that’s the game. I expected more overall stability. How can a value of a share sometimes increase 4 or 5 times over in just a few days? It doesn’t seem like a value should increase simply on prospects of turning a profit. The share price should correlate with actual sales and profit. However, it doesn’t seem to work that way. Simply the prospect and possibility of profit seems to over value the share price. I don’t care for the poker style guessing. I want to invest in companies that have real value and demonstrate profitability. I don’t like the run up in price before real products and services are being offered. In my portfolio, only a couple of over valued companies are putting me in the black. My portfolio is playing out differently than I expected. I feel like I have to lay down a lot of bets and expect a lot of losses. If I am lucky, I will hit on one or two companies that become way overvalued. If this app had those kind of features, it could train even kids to become a successful stocks trader. Yes I am a kid, but don’t ignore this review just because I’m a kid, I’m 15 by the way. I want to learn stocks but I can’t find any apps that can explain step by step what stocks is.
