### 3/5 — Think of this as half a side hustle

*2022-11-23, version 1.5.2*

My account has been open for seven years and I have only sold two of the same photo in that time. they also didn’t tell you what’s the rating system is, so you have no idea what to look for.

### 1/5 — Yet again no one reviews photos

*2021-08-30*

It seems very hit and miss in the time of reviewing photos, this time weeks sat in limbo again.

No communication when contacting them via social media or email.

The only sale I have seen is one person and it was a tiny amount. I would say stick old or ones you're bothered about on here but don't expect them to get loaded for sale anytime soon.

### 2/5 — Lots of work needed

*2021-06-08, version 1.5.2*

This app is very inconsistent in performance. Network connection is often weak (only with this app), and the upload does not consistently allow easy access to photos in albums or library. Very hit or miss. I have had to delete and upload multiple times to kickstart it again.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2021-05-03, version 1.5.2*

My understanding was that is supposed to be catered for IOS photos, but when I try uploading, it keeps saying that the photo is too small. I know that’s not true though because some are large panoramas, and the few that were accepted weren’t any larger than the other photos I tried uploading...

### 1/5 — Update maybe?

*2021-01-23*

The last time it got an update was two years ago! Maybe invest a bit in development? It is not even full screen on my 11! This is ugly for a great company like Alamy. Just take it off the app store if you’re not gonna update it.

### 2/5 — Photos won’t upload

*2021-01-04*

This app is super basic and seems very finicky when uploading photos. Some will upload just fine and others similar to the ones I uploaded already are apparently too small. Very annoying, had to give up. There needs to be a support button or something for troubleshooting.

### 2/5 — Uploads fail with iPhone 12

*2020-11-26*

After adding photo, title, tags etc and pressing upload, a message appears saying “it looks like you’ve lost your network connection to Stockimo. Sorry, but you’ll have to re-upload your photo “

There’s nothing wrong with the phone, its software, or my network connection (either mobile or home), so it’s a problem with the app or Alamy’s server).

### 3/5 — Jury’s still out...

*2020-03-07, version 1.5.2*

I find the app easy to use, if a bit redundant. I do wish there was a way to add tags you have used recently a little easier rather than starting from scratch each time. I find the rating system, however, curious and extremely inconsistent, as if it is more personal opinion than a consistent standard across the board. That would explain the inconsistencies. I have never had a photo rejected, but that in itself to me is curious. Also, the Instagram account is what has made me really question the legitimacy of the company. If you look at Getty, for instance, everything looks professional, clean. Stockimo Instagram is haphazard and... confusing. They feature photography that is laden with filters and obscurity, the kind of thing a kid would do. And, if that is their brand or style, then ok, you would know what they are looking for, but it’s not just that. They go further and feature photos that are so vague and honestly look as if someone accidentally hit the shutter while fumbling with their phone, and not in a cool, unexpected way, but in a “you really should have just deleted that” sort of way. 😬 There are some really profound pictures too though, so, yeah, I am always left scratching my head a bit. 🤔 Jury’s still out...

### 3/5 — Bad Image Quality

*2020-02-09*

I really like this app but the problem is my uploaded images are in really bad quality. On my phone (iPhone 11), these pictures are stunning but on the activity page when you preview the images they are in really bad quality. Please fix this and thanks.

### 1/5 — 3 years ago

*2020-01-31, version 1.5.2*

I used this app 3 years ago and it was worthless. I came across it again because I’ve uploaded a lot of photos to Getty images and they were great and accepted. This app rejected the same photos that professional photographers have deemed amazing. There hasn’t been an update in a year and here I am trying this app out again!! Make me change my mind!!

### 1/5 — App seems totally broken.

*2020-01-26, version 1.5.2*

App seems totally broken. My high-res iPhone X photos all give an error message that their dimensions are too small (must be larger than 640 pixels). It looks like it’s pulling the thumbnails instead of the actual photos.

Too bad. Cool concept.

### 1/5 — Do not recommend

*2020-01-23*

I downloaded this app after hearing a recommendation for the website version, Alamy, because I’m into my photography as a side hobby and really liked the idea of having a platform to share my images. But every single one of my photos have been declined because they weren’t rated high enough. Seems a bit ridiculous, how it anyone suppose to earn from this app when none of your photos get accepted?

10/10 wouldn’t recommend to anyone after reading other peoples reviews regarding similar issues

### 1/5 — Poor picture quality

*2020-01-08, version 1.5.2*

I uploaded my pictures recently but they appear to be in obscure quality. I’m not sure if this is because I have a newer phone on an older software or because it takes a while to process? I would not recommend this app. I’ve deleted it due to the long wait time and poor communication they have served me.

### 2/5 — Not quite there, yet

*2019-11-05*

Three issues:
1) Photos in my Camera Roll are stored in the cloud. They are not downloaded from the Cloud when selected for uploading to Stockimo. I must first ensure they are downloaded to my Camera Roll before uploading. P-I-T-A

2) Navigating to an Album of images through Photos, there is no indication of which ones within the album are Favourites (read the better versions). P-I-T-A

2) With Files being introduced a couple of iOSs ago, one would think that this app would allow the retrieval of photos from Files. I shoot almost exclusively with Adobe Lightroom Mobile, using the raw and hdr-raw formats then processing using LrM for the highest quality possible. I prefer saving these jpegs to Files rather than to my Camera Roll, specifically because they are “keepers” and they are much quicker to download than via the Camera Roll (see above). How about allowing us to download from Files and not just from Photos.

Oh ya – and who uses a photo directly from their camera to upload for stock. Okay, maybe there are a number of iPhone photographers with far more amazing skills than me, but I’ve yet to meet a photo that can’t be improve with a bit of judicious editing.

### 3/5 — The app is fine, not sure about the whole scheme.

*2019-11-03, version 1.5.2*

Unlike many people here, I don’t seem to have any problems with the app—it does what it’s supposed to. It might be nice if it worked better with multiple photos, and allowed cut and paste of tags. I just wish it was actually integrated with Alamy and my account there. It’d be one thing if they were two separate systems, but the Stockimo images are all there side by side with the regular Alamy ones, being sold the same way, but they might as well be another user’s completely. And the insistence on DSLR photos for Alamy and iPhone photos for Stockimo is weird and kind of pointless (current iPhones take as good or better photos than many older DSLRs)—I find myself trying to remember which camera I used to take some older pics.

Most of my photos have been accepted and in general the ones that haven’t have had legitimate issues—but so have some that have been accepted. The ratings seem a little arbitrary but at least the system isn’t as punitive as Alamy’s. I haven’t made any money yet but honestly haven’t had much uploaded for very long.

Anyway, works fine but not loving the whole set up—I wish they’d just merge it with Alamy.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App now closed

*2024-01-31*

Don’t bother downloading this app as it’s now discontinued or “sunsetting” as Alamy put it. Only download if you’re already a stockimo contributor to update the final version to manage your already submitted photos. They’ve probably run out of unpaid reviewers to check on uploaded photos or “mugs” as I call them.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2023-11-13*

This app consistently crashes and won’t stay open. It works for a few minutes, but then crashes and you can’t get back on it until you download it again and start over. A huge disappointment from a big company like Alamy ! I repeatedly emailed the company and they act like this is a new problem they’ve never heard of before and ask me what phone I’m using. It’s 2023 so I’m pretty sure my phone is ok to use with this app. They just don’t know how to fix the obvious problem that thousands of people are having with this app. I’m so very disappointed with the app and the customer service !

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2023-06-16*

Can only load 1 photo then the app closes

### 1/5 — Keep crashing

*2023-06-12*

It used to be a great app, but now it keeps crashing. I can’t use it properly anymore.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2023-03-12*

Uploaded 1 photo to test out and decided to removed it and the app wont let me upload other images and I cant even delete the only 1 photo i selected. This app is a waste of time.

### 1/5 — Please fix bug—app won’t open on iPhone 14 pro max

*2023-01-28, version 1.5.2*

App stopped working as of latest iOS update. I have the 13 pro version. Waiting for a fix, please.

### 1/5 — Going nowhere

*2022-10-23, version 1.5.2*

This App has very little functionality. No ‘Help’ options. Navigation is clunky. So minimalist it is actually hard to use.

### 1/5 — Fraud

*2022-05-12, version 1.5.2*

Now I under why is the rating so low for this app. It has been 5 days and my pictures are not even rated. Useless and fraud app. Don’t install it. Waste of time!

### 1/5 — Does not work at all

*2022-02-03, version 1.5.2*

The app won’t let me log in using my Alamy account and Safari won’t let me log in on the browser side. Good thing I didn’t upload anything yet.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2021-12-14, version 1.5.2*

Just buggy all around. I’ll stick to almany website via contributor…………… they need a app for that not this junk.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This is genuinely great

*2023-07-22*

This app doesn’t deserve 1.9/5. It does everything I need it to do. However, the last update being 5 years ago worries me a bit. Don’t listen to the bad reviews, and try it. See if you like it! You deserve these 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Fun and easy!

*2021-07-15, version 1.5.2*

I’ve been using this app without any problems for about two years. Uploading is easy and photos are rated within a week or less. One nice feature is you can edit your keywords after images are accepted. I have made decent sales too!

### 5/5 — Works well

*2018-12-31, version 1.5.2*

I have gradually uploaded photos and had around 600 accepted over the past year or two (probably around half of my pics are accepted to be put up for sale). I’m averaging around $20/month in sales (ranging from just a few bucks to over $100). Probably not going to become a major source of income, but my experience has been pretty good.

### 5/5 — Stocki-no-dramas

*2018-07-09*

Can’t really complain about a free app that makes you money? Simple and easy to use, quick turnaround times on image submissions 🙂

### 5/5 — Great!

*2016-09-28*

I love this app. It's simplicity makes uploading photos and videos so much fun! You can get as creative as you want and post photos from any category of choice. I love this app and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys taking pictures, using filters and making extra cash! 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2014-03-13*

A simple and straight forward app, that is very easy to use and so far seems very reliable.

### 4/5 — Good app but…

*2023-06-02*

Just now when I tried to upload a photo the app crashed! Also it doesn’t use the full screen of later iPhones. Can this app please be properly optimised for iOS 16.5 and the upcoming iOS 17? And also support the larger screens on iPhone 13 and 14 devices? Thank you.

### 4/5 — Has improved

*2021-08-01*

Times for checking photos have improved, which I think was due to a technical hitch. It’s possible I’m not going to make my fortune selling my photos, though. To improve, could add a search function to the upload tool which can find photos more easily in the ‘recent’ folder.

### 4/5 — Testing review complaints, review is a work in progress.

*2021-03-22, version 1.5.2*

Testing out some reviews, someone said there’s a uploading bug. This isn’t completely accurate, It seems unlike other apps, if you loose signal for just a second it doesn’t pause and continue when reconnected. Instead it fails and you have to restart your submission, So it’s just rather low tech. My WiFi couldn’t handle the uninterrupted signal so I switched to data and got my photos uploaded. I did notice some low quality images (that looks like an infant played with someones phone camera) approved, and apparently liked by customers which aligns with the complaints I read in reviews. Still, I won’t call time of app death like others do until I check for a pulse and do a little CPR. Fingers crossed it’s a diamond in the rough, I would really enjoy this app if it’s professional enough.
Update: so far my bad images were rejected as expected, and my good ones were accepted. I would like to say I’m surprised my bad images were actually rejected considering the worse images I’ve seen “liked by customers” that obviously had been approved previously. However they judged me on a professional skill level which I appreciate. I just wish they judged everyone’s skill the same.

### 4/5 — So far so good.

*2018-04-02, version 1.5.1*

I have iPhone and I haven’t had any problems using this app, 19 of 20 photos accepted with high ratings. I have only been using it a few days so I haven’t sold anything...but there aren’t any problems thus far. Thank you!
