Such a great board game almost ruined by the UI. Total mess. Hard to see what’s happening with all the clutter. ### 3/5 — Glitchy *2022-05-28, version 1.01* Outstanding Boardgame, good AI, but ruined slightly by a very glitchy app. It’s not unplayable but I did find I had to abandon 1 in 3 games due to bugs. ### 3/5 — Good but buggy *2019-12-05, version 1.01* Would have given more stars. Game is very good however bugs spoil enjoyment. About 30% of my games stall near the end where it won’t let me play crash or boom cards. Let’s my open menus but cards are frozen on screen. Layout is slightly confusing at first, even for someone who has played. Controls are also slightly tricky as i could not find in the rules how to do things... like sell stocks. I finally figured it out and as a fan of the actual boardgame this passes as a good enough adaptation. My one thing that stops this from being a 5 is that for local games it wont save the game and if u close out of the game or have to set ur phn dwn for much time at all u have to start a brand new game. The total lack of saving or storing ur game state and this making this a single sitting game u either have to play thru or start over means i play it way less than id like to. It seems idiotic design wise to do it that way. ### 4/5 — Great game, poor online play *2019-09-06, version 1.01* Positives: Stockpile the app, lets me practice and learn to play better and get in more rounds of an already excellent game with multiple AI players. I’ve played more than 25 rounds of this game on iPad and iPhone with forecast dice and investors. The AI players are great to play with. For this experience, the app is very good! All challenges are locked and dependent on online play to work. Unfortunately, online play is practically non-existent. Games, if they can be called one take days if ever. It’s take one move wait days for another player to join, then play one move then wait for another few more days. This isn’t a game. The computer needs some work. Also the biggest thing that needs work is the online multiplayer. It’s ridiculous. Games like this shouldn’t take 24 hours. There should be a quick play option. My biggest issue is that there's tons of Bugs in this game especially regarding the parts where you have to drag stock in the Supply Phase, and sell stock in the Selling phase. You can't drag the stock at the bottom of your screen at all to the required spots, it just doesn't work. I've reset the app and game countless of times but these two actions simply don't work. This is a fantastic game but a poor implementation on both mobile and PC. On iOS, I am unable to sell stocks around turn 5. The UI gets choppy and will only accept end turn. The ability to click and drag stocks becomes unresponsive. As a big fan of the game I also bought the PC version and it was a cheap port of the mobile interface that did not match the teaser screenshots on the store page! Not to mention it was WORSE than mobile as player stat UI elements covered up the field of play. NO BUGS SO FAR. 5 GAMES IN. ### 5/5 — Favourite of finance-types gets an adequate app *2021-08-23, version 1.01* Stockpile is a game where on occasion one uses their inside information to guide a series of stock prices and resulting trades. The theme can be dry (if we ignore the amorality of manipulating a market!) but the game really has plenty of bluffing and “gotcha” moments to add to the fun… though once acquainted I’d recommend the highest AI levels. I don’t think there are any good options other than playing solo on iDevice, as online async probably isn’t a thing. But there are quite a few game variants included which improve on the base game. I have to note that on several occasions I seemingly could not exercise in-game options due to the user interface. I also emphasise that the purported theme (making money from stock market) is supplanted by the fuller agenda of exercising sneakier tactics: tactics generated from the information one possesses that the others may not know. Ich spiele es bereits auf Steam und habe nun noch mal 5€ in die Hand genommen, um es auf dem Handy weiter spielen zu können. Für 10€ ein Spiel auf zwei Plattformen, was deutlich teurer sein könnte, zu spielen, da kann man echt nichts sagen. Ich finde es sehr gelungen. Sucht Spiel. Game is a fun, arcadey kind of stock trading experience. There are no random players online but if you can get friends to play it works fine.
