• Smoother scrolling in My News. Several things were quietly slowing the feed down behind the scenes. They're fixed.

• Your headlines come first. Today's Brief has moved down to sit after the first three stories, so you see more news the moment you open the app.

• Quick Summaries are quicker. They no longer start for every story you scroll past, so the one you stop on gets the app's full attention. And if a summary takes too long, you'll see the article's own opening lines instead of a spinner that never ends.

• Pictures stay put. Scrolling back up through My News no longer makes them reload, and photos elsewhere in the app reload far less often.

• Easier to tap. Topic buttons and the free-articles banner are now bigger and easier to hit.

• Watchlists now shows which list you're reading. And when you add tickers, long company names are shown in full, so share classes are easy to tell apart.
