Updates are moving in the right direction. I haven’t been able to use the app yet because it doesn’t seem to work well with keychain or LastPass. It doesn’t recognise both fields are filled and throws an error. Password managers allow me to have more secure passwords. It would still be great to be able to hold the slider down and travel along the chart and see all the $ changes as you slide. It’s pretty temperamental trying to hit the exact day/Moment on the chart. But great to see it progressing. The blog is a plus too! Periodically releasing new features and keep bringing improvement to the app shows that stockspot care about the user facing companion app! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Won’t give back money or return emails *2023-09-14, version 3.0.3* Thought I’d give Stockspot a go. Deposited $100 to start off with as I wanted to see the app functionality and dashboard. Found out $500 is minimum to buy in so I emailed asking for my money back at this stage. It’s been months, multiple emails and NO ONE has responded. If you can’t reply to a simple email, I can’t trust you investing my money. I’ll take this further if you do not respond and fail to refund my $100. Would not recommend. ### 1/5 — Hidden exit fees *2021-04-23, version 2.2.4* They claim to charge no hidden fees but if you try to transfer your stocks out they will charge upwards of $150 for the privilege even though their marketing material repeatedly advertises no fees (other than their monthly fee). How can false advertising like this even be allowed? ### 1/5 — Cannot open the app ... *2020-11-27, version 2.1.9* It crashes after Face ID sign in ... just gets stuck on signing in page Thanks for your suggestion. I had to uninstall and reinstall to make it work again. I have the iPhone 12 ### 1/5 — Not working!! *2020-10-28, version 2.1.7* Just hangs with swirly wheel of death. ### 1/5 — Strange behaviour *2020-03-13, version 2.0.6* I installed the app. Logged in using Face ID. Was able to check my account. Went to Sign out. It asked me for my PIN. Entered PIN and it went back to my account. Seems there was no way to Sign out. Deleted app and back to using website. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work *2019-12-05, version 2.0.4* Just a white page. Doesn’t load on my iPhone - and yes I’m up to date with latest firmware and have turned phone on and off ### 2/5 — App keeps crashing. *2021-10-21, version 2.3.1* This app seems pretty good but when trying to access some functions the app crashes and comes up with a blank screen. The only way I can bring the app back up is to turn off turn on device. ### 2/5 — Has never fully worked *2021-09-03, version 2.2.9* I chose Stockspot over competitors largely because of the app. But it’s never fully worked for me. First it wasn’t displaying anything because it hadn’t acknowledge my deposits; now it crashes every time I try to check cash transactions. It’s really ruined the whole experience and I’ll consider taking my money out when I make up for current losses. ### 2/5 — Can’t even log in to the app *2018-08-21, version 2.0.1* I can’t even log into the app. Can log in on the website no problems at all. When I try use the same email address and password in the app, I get a message saying the details are incorrect. I know for a fact they’re not. I’ve tried 15 times, and logged out and in on the PC no problem. ### 4/5 — One thing to add... *2020-12-20, version 2.2.0* The only reason for giving 4 stars Is that it would be nice to see the daily action. I simply do not have time to invest myself and the personal portfolios that they provide align with my financial goals. If you are thinking of investing I would recommend Stockspot a great place to start. Also, I started investing at the end of last year and saw my account only go negative by a few hundred dollars. Stockspot re invested through covid and I am again back on track with promising returns.
