Uplifting and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2011-12-21, version 1*

Awesome source for the Classics of Greek & Roman philosophy! It would help to make the print resizable. But that does not hinder me from giving it a five star. THANKS for this resource!

### 5/5 — Nice breakdown

Great format for a quick daily dose of stoicism

### 5/5 — Generously free app

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2011-01-15, version 1*

Great app for those that ate looking for works on stoicism. Selection of works five stars, and the way the app works is nice. Really like how it works. Thanks for a quality app (no problem downloading extra content).

### 5/5 — Excellent content, excellent support

Excellent content, excellent support.

### 5/5 — Excellent.

*2010-10-20, version 0*

Thank you for the work put into this app. It is both useful and user-friendly; and while the appearance could be more polished and "prettied up", it is certainly a fine-looking app. Controls are simple & intuitive. And of course the content is invaluable! =}

### 5/5 — I appreciate the quality information here

*2010-08-24, version 0*

Thanks for providing reading materials to a poor student who loves to read.

### 5/5 — A True Classic

*2010-08-16, version 0*

Here is an app that is true to the spirit and form of Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, and Epictetus' Handbook. Stoicism offers a philosophically Western tradition that smacks of Zen, with an approach to ethics and action that has shined over the centuries for it's brilliance. This application makes these teachings from across the ages now available to you at the touch of a finger. Zeno would be proud.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2010-08-08, version 0*

Need to change the sensitivity of the gesture that flips page , done it many times by accident really annoying

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless app......stay away from it......

*2011-04-16, version 1*

After I downloaded it and installed it, My iPad froze and didn't boot up. Useless app.

### 2/5 — Broken features

*2018-04-07, version 2.1*

I purchased this app solely for its “search” feature, in order to find passages pertinent to my particular needs at any one moment. The search feature is horribly broken, when searching for the word “virtue” in Meditations for example, only ONE instance is listed in the results. Another common word, “courage”, has ZERO results in Meditations. The feature is useless. I own paperback copies of all these texts for far more than the $1.99 I paid for the app, so to have them at my fingertips is worth the price alone, although there is another free app simply called “Stoic” that has most of these texts as well. That app has no search feature, but this one might as well not have bothered either.

### 3/5 — Very Basic

*2017-06-18, version 2.1*

While it's a nice collection of the stoics I'd really like to see a bit more effort put into the app. A great start would be to have a daily notification with a relevant quote.

### 3/5 — Could be Great but...

*2010-11-09, version 0*

This app brings together some of the best examples of Stoic wisdom available. And it offers you the option to purchase still more fine examples of this school of thought. Needless to say I like it enough to want to make the in app purchase to obtain the remaining Stoic texts but try as I might I have been unable to make the purchase. It just sits there when I try. The inability to add the remaining texts has made what could have been a great app into a good one. But do not get me wrong, it is still well worth a download even without the additional texts. But it could have been better with them...

### 4/5 — Fine app but could be much better

*2022-03-03, version 2.1*

The voiceover is robotic, it is not pleasant to listen, so it doesn’t bring any value.
The translation that you have is in old English, it would be great to have more modern version.

### 4/5 — Impressive except for in-ap purchases

*2012-12-05, version 1*

What text available for free within the app. Is well organized, translated adequately, and carefully selected to contextually portray the school of stoicism properly.

### 4/5 — Thank You For Making This Available

*2011-03-19, version 1*

Read about Stoicism in the 4HWW and on Tim Ferriss' blog. Great resource for keeping perspective on what I should value most in life.

### 4/5 — Convenient source of knowledge

*2010-10-08, version 0*

I like this app.

### 4/5 — Very cool

*2010-08-07, version 0*

I like the app.

### 5/5 — All The Stoic Wisdom in One App

*2019-03-02, version 2.1*

I am fantastically happy with this app despite what others “like spoiled toddlers” whine and complain over. Very in-stoic.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app.

*2017-04-20, version 2.1*

I've ordered a bunch of these books on amazon (for a lot of $$)and carry some of them with me often but seem to always have my phone and love having all of these wonderful classic Stoics in my pocket! Best app on my phone!

### 5/5 — Life-changing wisdom for a pittance.

*2014-08-08, version 1*

This app is invaluable to the student of Stoicism or philosophy in general. For only $.99 you can have access to most of the key texts on Stoicism, as well as a modern overview to aid the new student. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great collection of Stoicism

*2013-06-07, version 1*

I do enjoy the convenience that this app offers up the classic literary awesome sauce.

The autoscroll feature is an added bonus!

Great intro to stoicism. And I do like the genuine friendship imbued in the letters, you can sense the friendship, love, admiration and respect the two gentlemen have for each other. Many lessons the letters teach are timeless and can be applied to everyday life in the here-and-now.

Awesome app, grab it!

### 5/5 — Superb

*2012-12-05, version 1*

Put together well, easy to navigate, couldn't ask for more.

### 5/5 — Good read

*2012-10-16, version 1*

I'm still focusing on the Seneca book and it has been good I imagine the next one will be too.

### 5/5 — Fantastic material on Stoicism

*2012-10-06, version 1*

I refer to it daily.

### 5/5 — I like.

*2012-08-04, version 1*

Not sure what the upgrade was. But I like the images for each section and the "less is more" excerpts.
The free app was great. I just bought the upgrade for the Meditations. I'm sure it will be worth it. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Full of Great Bits

*2012-07-16, version 1*

Chock full of food for thought. Easy to use and very aesthetic. I use this often

### 5/5 — Dope

*2012-06-21, version 1*

It's dope.
