## What is stone call?

Stone Call is a managed voice, video, and messaging service for small teams, built around a Swiss Destroy design language: stark typography, monospaced rhythm, and the data laid bare. Sign up, sign in, and start calling — there is no PBX to configure, no carrier contract to sign. We run the infrastructure.

CORE FEATURES

Voice & Video Calls
HD voice and video over WebRTC, optimized for LTE and Wi-Fi. Automatic ICE Restart handles network handovers without dropping the call.

System Call Integration
Incoming calls appear as native system call screens — same look as a regular phone call, lock-screen aware, audio routing handled by the OS.

Messaging
Send text, images, and files alongside calls. RCS-style message revocation. Real-time delivery with media stored on a hardened, CDN-fronted file backend.

Linked Devices
Pair phone, tablet, and work phone under one identity. Calls and messages reach every device you own. Manage and unpair sessions from settings.

Notes Room
A private chat with yourself, synchronized across every device you are paired on. Stash drafts, paste links, send files between your own phones.

Contacts & Call History
Local contact database. Inbound and outbound call records are auto-generated and searchable.

Lease a real phone number based on your location. Your number is restored automatically across reinstalls using a stable device identifier.

The entire app has been redesigned around our new Quiet Signal design language: warm stone surfaces, graphite type, signal green for presence, and coral reserved strictly for call actions. Same features underneath — a much calmer surface on top.

- Calls and chats are now equal citizens. Voice and video call buttons live on every call-log row, contact, and chat thread.

START CALLING IN SECONDS
- "Try it now": get a real local number instantly based on your location — no sign-in required.
- Sign in with Google to keep the same number across your devices (Apple sign-in coming soon).
- Your anonymous number is preserved and restored automatically across app restarts and reinstalls.

CHATS
- New thread design with read receipts and cleaner bubbles.
- Notes room: message yourself, synced across your linked devices.
- Unread badges on the tab bar so nothing slips by.

RELIABILITY
- Number-lease validity is now driven by server state instead of a local timer — fewer surprise expirations.
- Incoming-call screen: accept on the left, decline on the right, consistently.
- Assorted fixes to registration, layout balance, and localization.

LINKED DEVICES & NOTES ROOM
- Pair multiple devices under a single identity. Calls and messages route to every device you own.
- New "Notes" room: a private chat with yourself that stays in sync across every paired device. Stash drafts, paste links, send files between your own phones and tablets.
- Pairing flow with one-time codes — issue a code on one device, enter it on the other.
- Settings → Linked Devices: see every active session and unpair remotely. Server-side unpair is now detected automatically and reflected in the app immediately.

RELIABLE LOCK-SCREEN CALLS
- Incoming call screen now reliably appears over the lock screen on Samsung and other Android OEMs without unexpected unlock prompts.
- Fixed a regression where a second incoming call right after the first would degrade to a heads-up notification.
- Lock-screen receive UX hardened on iOS as well.

ANDROID SCREEN-OFF AUDIO
- Fixed an issue where outgoing audio could drop after the screen turned off mid-call. Long calls in your pocket now stay connected.

VIDEO CALL REDESIGN
- Video call screen redesigned in our Swiss Destroy visual language: cleaner controls, larger remote view, clearer call state.
- Incoming-call standby screen unified with the same design language.

MESSAGING
- Long-press a message to copy.
- Better routing for multi-device users: messages exchanged between your own paired devices now land in the Notes room instead of fragmenting across separate chats.
- Group and Notebook room headers now show NOTE / GROUP / VIA chips so you can tell at a glance which identity a room belongs to.
- "Reply from number" hint inside multi-AOR rooms tells you which of your numbers will be used to send.

RELIABILITY & POLISH
- Auto-recovery when the API token changes — no app restart required.
- Location permission denial now re-prompts instead of dead-ending on an error screen.
- Diagnostic logging upgraded for faster issue triage.
- Smaller, faster cold start.
