But as soon as I tried to search for something and press go it would redirect me to the App Store. Yes this was from safari. Yes I had enabled it.

This extension is a great idea on paper, but in practice, it does not block the snssdk1233.onelink.me redirect that launches TikTok's App Store page. I've tested the extension with and without content blockers enabled and yielded identical results. Not worth the $5 I paid.
