## What is Storm Window?

Storm Window helps you find safer outdoor windows when weather risk is changing.

Instead of giving you another raw forecast, Storm Window turns hourly weather data into a clear outdoor risk timeline, highlighting when conditions look clear, marginal, stormy, or severe. Built for runners, cyclists, walkers, golfers, beach days, trail time, work crews, and anyone who plans around lightning, heat, wind, air quality, and rain.

Core features:
• Clear "go / wait" style outdoor risk guidance
• 48-hour hourly risk strip, shown as bars or dots
• Lightning-aware storm risk
• Heat, air quality, wind, UV, rain, and snow context
• National Weather Service alert awareness
• Current-location planning, plus one saved place
• Home Screen widgets and Apple Watch support
• Built-in explanations of what's driving each hour's risk

Storm Window Pro adds:
• Multiple saved locations
• Activity-specific risk profiles (runner, cyclist, golfer, and more)
• Custom activity profiles
• Personal heat and AQI sensitivity tuning
• Full hourly detail on tap
• Driest-stretch highlight within your safe window
• Per-location widgets and complications

Storm Window Pro+ adds:
• Trips: pin an upcoming event and get its own safe-window forecast and alerts
• "Should I Go?" activity-aware guidance
• Forecast change reviews and 48-hour forecast summaries
• Apple Intelligence-powered risk explanations on supported devices — all features work without it
• Live Lightning alerts — push notifications when lightning strikes near your active location, with a lightning map of recent strikes (UNDER DEVELOPMENT)

Storm Window uses deterministic risk rules for its core safety assessment. Pro+ guidance does not replace the underlying risk rating. Live Lightning alerts use third-party lightning network data and are not a substitute for shelter planning or official weather alerts.

Storm Window is forecast guidance, not a guarantee of safe conditions. Weather can change quickly. When thunder roars, go indoors.

  - New Dots chart style: an alternative to the classic bar chart for the 48-hour risk strip, available on both the app and home screen widget.
  - Driest-stretch highlight (Pro): the safe window now calls out the driest stretch within it, so you can plan around the best hours, not just the safe ones.
