## What is StormStock?

Before a hurricane, the essentials disappear — gas, water, ice, generators, batteries, propane. You drive store to store with no idea where anything is left. StormStock fixes that.

StormStock is a free, community-powered app that shows where essential supplies are still in stock near you, reported in real time by neighbors going through the same storm.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Find supplies nearby — see which stores have water, fuel, ice, food, generators, batteries, and propane, with distance and how fresh the report is.
• Report in seconds — tap a store and mark an item "in stock", "low", or "out" to help everyone around you.
• Hazard map — see and report flooding, downed power lines, blocked roads, and fallen trees, with a live rain radar.
• Storm & tornado alerts — official National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center info, a tornado warning that shows the exact affected area, and an early heads-up when a new system may be forming.
• Community chat & mutual aid — talk with neighbors by area, offer or ask for help.
• Translate any message — read a neighbor's post in your own language with one tap.
• Family & friends — share your live location and a simple "I'm safe" / "I need help" status, and see who's nearby, safe, and online.
• Emergency mode — one-tap 911, nearest open shelter (FEMA), and evacuation zone lookup.
• Prep checklist — know exactly what to stock, with one-tap shopping.
• Damage documentation — photos with time and location, saved on your phone for your insurance.
• AI assistant — ask anything about hurricane prep and get calm, practical answers.

BUILT FOR THE STORM
• Speaks 10 languages, including English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Tagalog, Russian, and German.
• Designed to work even with a weak connection — your reports are saved and sync when you're back online.
• Notifications reach you even with the app closed: a hazard nearby, a friend's SOS, a tornado warning, a new storm forming.

FREE, SAFE & PRIVATE
StormStock is free and works fully anonymously — signing in is optional (Google or Apple) and only needed to post in the community. Every post can be reported or blocked, and photos and text are automatically moderated. We never sell your data and there are no ads. Your location is used only to show what's near you.

Made in Orlando, for Central Florida — and anywhere a storm can hit.

Stay stocked. Stay safe. Help your neighbors.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-22

The mutual-aid board is now a conversation. Add a photo to what you are offering or asking for — the generator, the spare room, the empty shelf — and let people comment and react instead of having to move the whole thing to the neighborhood chat. You can take your own post down whenever you want.
Reply to a specific message, the way you already do everywhere else: swipe a message to the right, or hold it. Works in the neighborhood chat, in direct messages and in groups.
Pinch any photo to zoom in — a price on a shelf, a street sign behind the flooding — and save it to your phone.
The rain radar and the satellite clouds now hold at every zoom level and play without gaps. They were dropping frames when you zoomed out or let the animation run; that is fixed, and the satellite is no longer an hour behind.
Also in this update:
• The weather card stays open while you read it
• Jump back to the current radar frame at any time
Stay safe out there. Report what you see — a neighbor is looking for it.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-15

Tap the weather card to open the whole week — highs, lows and the chance of rain, drawn on a single scale so you can see a change coming without reading a number.

The rain radar moves now. Instead of one frozen frame, watch where the rain is actually heading — and the last frames are a forecast for the next half hour, so you know if it is coming to you or passing by. The satellite view animates too, and a Now button jumps you back to this moment.

Also in this update:

• An hour-by-hour forecast right on the home screen
• Messages from friends arrive the moment they are sent
• Pull down on any screen to refresh what you are seeing
• A new look throughout, and our own storm icon in place of the emoji
• The in-app guide now covers all of the above

Stay safe out there. Report what you see — a neighbor is looking for it.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-13

• Tap a hurricane on the map to see its category, winds, pressure, whether it's strengthening, and its full forecast track
• New satellite layer shows how big the storm actually is, not just where it's headed
• Storm surge, extreme wind and tsunami warnings from the National Weather Service, with the official area drawn on the map
• The cheapest gas near you now shows on the home screen
• Report stock in two taps, straight from the list
• Tapping a notification now opens exactly what it's about — the message, the hazard, the storm
• Choose who can see your location, without unfriending anyone
• Search your friends list and the mutual-aid board
• The weather card now shows the sky outside
• Fixed map pins that were hard to tap, and staying signed in after an update

### 1.1 — 2026-08-11

• Report gas prices at nearby stations and see who reported them
• Stock reports now show the reporter's name, level and supporter badge
• Remove friends and family from your list, or get a new friend code
• Support the app with an optional tip
• Text no longer gets cut off when you use larger text sizes
• Fixed the keyboard covering the price field
