### 4/5 — james

issue of adds remaining but apart from that very nice design and function.

### 4/5 — Great Tool

*2018-01-11, version 1.13*

I was looking at story dice on amazon then thought I’d look at the App Store. I saw this among the others and thought I’d give it a try.

Only problem is the dice seemed to tilt a lot for lack of space.
I love the concept and the price range options.
It’s great for getting your creativity moving.
I’m currently going to try them with a RPG.

### 4/5 — Great for Spanish teachers

*2018-01-04, version 1.13*

This app has potential for story writing in Spanish and I can’t wait to adapt it into my upper level course as well as lower level courses for vocabulary development.

### 4/5 — Great free alternative

*2017-01-21, version 1.13*

Instead of shelling out for the actual dice and then storing them/loosing them this is perfect. Great you can change the genre themes. Ads are unobtrusive. My only slight complaint is sometimes the dice don't land flat and it's not clear which picture has been rolled. No biggie, just shake/roll again.

### 5/5 — AWESOME

*2016-08-20, version 1.13*

Awesome

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — PAID FOR ADS AND THEY KEEP SHOWING

*2020-06-21, version 1.13*

This app shows ads even if you pay for removing ads
Please fix it

### 1/5 — Dating ads continue to pop up. Not good for kids.

*2020-04-20, version 1.13*

So I’ve never left a review but this is actually pretty serious. I am a teacher and downloaded this app to use with my 4th grade class. However on the first use I realized that banner advertisements of bumble and other dating app sites were popping up, saying “are you single?” “Do you want to meet up?” Etc. Immediately I paid the .99 to get rid of advertisements. But every single time I am using this app the banners still pop up. I honestly don’t even know why these ads are popping up on a children’s game in the first place but they are, and they continue to even after I’ve paid for them not to.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2020-04-30, version 1.13*

What is a good version of a Story Dice app is let down by the fact that paying to remove the ads doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Purchased “ad free” version, but still getting ads.

*2020-03-10, version 1.13*

Perhaps a glitch? I upgraded to remove the ads, and confirmation came up three times, making it look like three separate purchases. The ads haven’t disappeared though.

### 2/5 — I am confused

*2019-05-23, version 1.13*

What are the dice supposed to mean? There are a lot of dice and stuff but what is it? What does the black cat mean? Does the gun mean you get shot? Or you’re doing the shooting?

### 3/5 — Rather disappointing images.

*2024-09-18, version 1.13*

Yes I didn’t read the description properly. Star Wars - great for some, but not for me.

In any case I find the choice of images too specific and not archetypical enough. But that’s just me and my needs.

### 3/5 — Meh!

*2022-05-30, version 1.13*

It needs some jazzing up. The ability to re-roll individual dice, and turn the dice so that the picture are facing the right way if you want. Locking select dice would be welcome.

Other than that, a good free alternative to the storycube app.

### 3/5 — Good

*2020-06-19, version 1.13*

It’s very good but what you meant to do

### 4/5 — Quick review

*2021-04-07, version 1.13*

It is what it says it is: some dice with pictures
Only has 4 sliders to change the pictures theme
Useful as story prompt or introduce new ideas.

Sure you can interact with the dice by moving them but you can’t spin them to make them the right way up and you can’t flip over individual dice to a new face

Also would like to be able to mix and match the prompts a bit more than just have a slider bar and only 4 themes

Looked at it for only a minute or two and messed with the sliders and the dice rolls so I’m still not sure of the impact of adds. Sure there was a small one that was just occupying part of the screen and not the usual BS of a 30sec add taking the whole screen

### 4/5 — More than one use!

*2018-06-16, version 1.13*

As good as this app may be for storytelling I found it was great for artists drawing prompts such as, the broken heart and alien appear, draw a heart broken alien

### 5/5 — Family Game

*2025-06-14, version 1.13*

It’s a good family game, party game & if u r travelling

### 5/5 — Promotes Creativity

*2023-04-28, version 1.13*

This is a fun and useful storytelling tool that promotes creativity. Not a bad idea to have the physical product in case of a power outage. In general, it's little things like this app which add up to make an iPad indispensable. Thanks to the developers for keeping it free and free of ads.

### 5/5 — Simply,

*2022-05-29, version 1.13*

So much fun. Ty.

### 5/5 — Terrific

*2020-01-29, version 1.13*

I have 3 series of story dice
With this game I can mix it up more with the special dice

### 5/5 — I love it

*2018-11-05, version 1.13*

Very interesting way to choose some items to write story

### 5/5 — Good so far

*2018-07-20, version 1.13*

Only played it a minute and it asked if I was enjoying it.....it looks like it will be fun for adults and kids. Will review better after I get a chance to use it.

### 5/5 — Small screen causes problems?

*2018-06-09, version 1.13*

Kudos to the author for making a functional, free version of a useful tool for writers and storytellers. That said, I am on an iPhone SE here, and the screen is quite small. When I use 10 dice, almost invariably one or more of them ends up on top of another, or lands and settles at an angle which makes it difficult or impossible to see the picture(s)

Hope to see this fixed in a future release. Also would love to have the ability to input my own images.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2018-05-05, version 1.13*

I love to play this with my friends. It gives child-like fun a chance among older children. Perfect for babysitting and sleepovers.

### 5/5 — Make your story creatively

*2017-01-25, version 1.13*

I love it!

### 5/5 — Fun

*2016-12-04, version 1.13*

Great way to stimulate a child's creativity and improve story telling skills
