I have looked at and toyed with multiple reading trackers and I have no idea why anyone uses any other than you. The only problem others might have with storygraph is that there is no community like goodreads and fable in that, they can post comments and pictures and others can like and comment where as with storygraph you can only like that someone read and rated it. I don’t really care as much for this because people tend to get mean just because they don’t agree with someone else’s reviews and or ratings, I don’t need that drama lol. The only other issue I have is that multiple user added editions may have wrong or incomplete information. Guys seriously, this one has charts and graphs that are FREE, unlike fable (here are all of the graphs you get to see for FREE: mood, pace, page number, fiction/nonfiction, genres, tags, format, most read authors, languages, number of books and pages and Star ratings!!!) They also have giveaways just like goodreads Not only can you set a book reading goal you can set a pages goal and an hours goal You can do buddy reads and read along’s as well as create or be a part of a book club. Just like goodreads, you can create your own tags, just like goodreads it will tell you the total of books you’ve ever read, as well as the total of books you have read this year and at the end of the year it will show every book you read and dnf’d (at least they did the dnf’s last year, hopefully again every year) and it will show the ratings you gave it. Just like fable you can add content warnings, the pace the book felt to you, you can choose to answer some of these questions like: are the characters lovable? You can answer: Yes. No. It’s complicated. was the cast of characters diverse?, was there strong character development?, was the book mainly plot or character driven or a mix? Ditch goodreads, ditch fable or any other book tracking app and just use this one! Hey maybe if more people join, storygraph will add the community posts like goodreads and fable has ;) ### 2/5 — Profoundly frustrating *2026-08-21, version 1.24* I want to love this app but the UI is god awful. I put in a book and it automatically says I’ve finished it. It supposedly keeps track of pages read but doesn’t. So poorly designed. ### 3/5 — Confusing interface *2026-08-20, version 1.24* I downloaded this and found the interface confusing. I simply want to keep track of how much I read each day and it really doesn’t do that. For example, you need to add the page began at and the page you ended rather than accumulative total. I accidentally added that I had reread it. And when I deleted that, it deleted all my extensive notes. Stay away from this app. It’s a mess. Update: appreciate the developer reaching out to me and understands the UI concerns. I’d love to use both as they both offer different things but to manually input everything takes time ### 2/5 — Very disappointed *2026-08-09, version 1.24* I was using this app to compare tracking my reading to other apps. Life happened and I needed to get a new phone, and when I downloaded the app and logged in all of my data was gone. I am very disappointed as before that I was thoroughly enjoying the app. ### 3/5 — Better than GR but… *2026-08-06, version 1.24* Definitely better than good reads, but man is this app really buggy at times. Sometimes I can’t even get the app to load. I’ll force close it and then restart it 2 or 3 times before it seems to even load the home page. And on days when it’s like this good luck navigating to your lists. I’m really thankful it exists and definitely recommend it, just know what to expect. ### 4/5 — Love the app, with one note *2026-07-30, version 1.24* Love this app. I switched from Goodreads because of its association with Amazon, but also because it’s user face was cluttered and seemed to demand and encourage mass consumerism. I did not feel a need to keep it for any social aspect, so I switched to StoryGraph, and I’ve loved it. It’s simplified, streamlined, and does everything I want a book tracker to do. The only note and recommendation is to improve the mobile application’s connection to cellular service. Unfortunately, I can only use the app when I am connected to wifi, and usually only my home wifi. If this was fixed, it would be a perfect app. ### 3/5 — It’s good but the UI is so clunky sometimes *2026-07-21, version 1.24* - After leaving a review, pressing the back button takes me back to the review edit page - constantly having to double tap on buttons for them to work and changes to take effect - follow button doesn’t immediately change to following, have to refresh page for it to show - actually…i have to refresh pages a lot while using this app I still like it though! Do wish there was more of a community and it was easier to find friends within the app, but yeah my main problem with the app is that navigating it is such a clunky, glitchy, slow, experience. ### 3/5 — Reading streak deleted *2026-07-18, version 1.24* I love this app! I was going to write a 5 star review for it, however, yesterday my 200 day reading streak was deleted and replaced with a 120 day one for no reason. I found it incredibly annoying and frustrating to work that hard for something and have it represented only for it just to be deleted. I do get that it’s also not that big of a deal which is why this app is still 3 stars. ### 5/5 — Best book tracker app ever *2026-07-13, version 1.24* I’ve been using this app for years now and it is without a doubt the best book tracker out there. The data you get from your reading habits is unmatched. Whoever is rating this under 5 stars I will fight you. ### 5/5 — Amazing Experience *2026-07-13, version 1.24* I have had nothing but the best experience using this book tracker. My favorite function is the ability to log private, unlimited character notes for a book I’m currently reading. This has tremendously helped my own recall and eventual review when I finish or dnf, as well as my ability to annotate in general. I also love the ability to pause books if my library hold runs out, filtering reviews, seeing my stats across multiple time periods and tags. Nadia’s constant transparency with development and her kind reputation to listen and improve from user feedback is a huge plus. Anyone interested in tracking their reads should definitely consider Storygraph! ### 5/5 — great app! *2026-07-13, version 1.24* love storygraph! have been using for about 2 years. it has really helped me relearn my love of reading. this year i have started using the audiobook tracking more closely. it’s crazy to see how much time i’ve spent listening!! i do find the daily reading tracker glitchy so i toggled that off so it doesn’t stress me out. i also wish you could select which five star reads to show on your monthly wrap up graphic (it is limited to 3). you may be able to customize this if you have the subscription though. i haven’t tested. ### 5/5 — My beloved *2026-07-13, version 1.24* One of the nonnegotiable subscriptions in my life, next to the water and electricity bill. Love supporting an independent developer; love taking some of my reading data away from the Amazon ecosystem; love that user suggestions are taken seriously and implemented. Can’t get better reading data anyway but your own spreadsheet which I’m not making. My favorite thing about storygraph is how antithetical storygraph reviews are compared to good reads reviews. GR reviews feel like everyone wants to be a stand up comic on a social media website, with their stupid gifs and tumblr speak. Storygraph reviews feel more like genuine reviews of a book. I don’t use Kobo. I don’t feel that not using it has impacted my storygraph use at all. I don’t feel like Nadia has sold out to Kobo or is pressuring users to switch from kindle to kobo. Just seems like a convenient addition for people using kobo that doesn’t affect the rest of us. ### 4/5 — Great app with good recommendation and filtering features *2026-07-08, version 1.24* Has a pretty great recommendation feature with a lot of inputs to narrow down the options. You can import your Goodreads library which is useful. The main thing I think could be better is the sort by option function. Currently it doesn’t have many options (pages, pub date and popular this week) and having popular this month/year/x years etc would be great so would sorting by highest rating, most favourited etc. Also theres an option to ‘only show books…’ (it gives options to choose from). Currently it has ‘not in my To-Read pile’ it would be great if we could also have ‘not in my Read pile’. But yeah great app with lots of filter options and a good book recommendation feature. ### 3/5 — Just a bit glitchy *2026-07-06, version 1.24* I’ve been using StoryGraph for about a year and really enjoy the features (reading challenges, stats, half stars, etc). I am enjoying my experience but have two gripes: I’m having a hard time finding recommendations for new reads based on my activity, and the app seems a bit glitchy. I mostly notice it not saving my progress tracking when I update it. If those worked better I’d be super happy! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Useless *2026-08-15, version 1.24* Useless junk! You can’t import any of your Goodreads books. ### 1/5 — Terrible Service and Support *2026-07-15, version 1.24* StoryGraph completely lacks a public code of conduct or community guidelines page to protect readers and authors. Even Goodreads, their biggest competitor, has these basic safety guardrails in place. When you reach out to support about serious issues, the response time is incredibly slow, only to be met with unhelpful deflections from Abbie. StoryGraph actively allows its platform to be used for targetted harassment under the bizarre loophole that if a user labels defamatory, real world and personal accusations that have nothing to do with the book’s text as a "DNF" note, it’s suddenly protected. I originally left Goodreads to support a smaller, independent app, but that is proving to be a mistake. As the platform grows, their support team’s refusal to address blatant defamation shows they simply do not care about community safety, and I will no longer be recommending goodreaders to make the switch to this app. Support does NOT CARE. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2026-07-13, version 1.24* Not intuitive at all. I presume I did something wrong but I entered two books as ‘read’ and one as ‘reading’, but upon checking it had worked there was nothing registered - no books read, none reading. After asking the internet many times how to simply and add book with no clear answer. I deleted the app. I’ll just keep writing my information down on paper. ### 1/5 — Unreliable glitchy app - please help! *2026-04-17, version 1.24* I love StoryGraph and I really wish to keep using it, but the app is not working at all and I cannot easily access any contact details or app support. Nothing loads and all I get is a grey screen with a loading circle no matter which page I select. I tried to get in touch with app support in a browser on the webpage but it kept redirecting me to the app where it would once again show a stuck loading screen and no other working functions. I’m getting frustrated after trying several times over the last few days :( ### 1/5 — Not easy to use *2026-04-03, version 1.24* When setting up, it didn’t give you details directions on how to import from goodreads, or any info on how often to update…if you need to, how to use the app to get the results you want. So I deleted the app, because it is not user friendly to explain how to do those things. Also why should I have to download a file and upload it in the first place? One thing - am super keen to be supporting a non-Amazon owned app, but I don’t personally see the value in paying for the premium subscription. If it keeps you guys running, I honestly wouldn’t mind ads here and there. ### 5/5 — My Reading Brain Lives Here Now *2026-08-17, version 1.24* StoryGraph genuinely changed how I read. Migrating years of Goodreads history was a certified ✨journey✨, but getting my reading life out of Amazon’s ecosystem felt delicious. The tracking is where StoryGraph absolutely eats. Reading streaks turn my book habit into a tiny dopamine machine, while the stats, charts, moods, pace data, challenges, and progress tracking actually tell me something about how I read instead of merely cataloging what I finished. Following readers with similar tastes is also dangerous in the best way—I routinely burgle their shelves for my already-unmanageable TBR. My biggest remaining weakness is discovery. When I want curated lists, rabbit holes, or that glorious feeling of stumbling across something unexpected, I still find myself opening Goodreads. StoryGraph’s recommendations are smart, but browsing doesn’t feel quite as rich yet. As an actual reading tracker, though? StoryGraph has become indispensable. ### 5/5 — Content Warnings feature is the best! *2026-08-16, version 1.24* I love this app! It is so easy to find out whether a book contains content I may be sensitive to. I use to spend so much time searching for content warnings before starting a book. I would have to do multiple internet searches and search reviews in hopes someone else put warnings in. This app makes the process simple and convenient, I know within a minute of searching for a book if it is a good fit for me. As a result I have been able to branch out to other genres I love without spending a ton of time researching. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2026-08-11, version 1.24* intuitive and fun to use ### 5/5 — Continual greatness *2026-08-07, version 1.24* I’ve been a user for a few years now and I love it immensely. The layout and graphics are visually appealing, the groups and bookclub features are easy to navigate, the specific rating capabilities are great. Not only do I adore the app as it is, Nadia provides incredible transparency about bugs, updates, and planned developments. Excited to see how StoryGraph continues to improve! ### 5/5 — Intuitive, Excellent Stats & Easy to Use *2026-07-22, version 1.24* I’ve been using StoryGraph consistently for a few years now. It is such a great app and has so many stats that I really enjoy reviewing regarding my reading. Additionally, there aren’t constant updates which I appreciate, and the updates we do get are thoughtful and do improve interface. This app has so many cool features. My favourite feature is the stats function that tracks every thing you read and saves the data to make into cool pie charts.
