After submitting a message to Storypod I never heard back and have been unable to get in contact with anyone. ### 4/5 — Love the system *2025-04-29, version 2.0.3* We have three Storypods in our house. I love the control the app gives me: -We can invite family to record stories, songs, or messages for our kids to listen to at their pace. - Remotely control the volume limit, brightness, and power off. I do wish that the app could tell me the last battery level, even when powered off. It would help with knowing when to charge it, so my kids wouldn’t be just climbing into bed at night with it, only for that dreaded, “Uh-oh. I would love to be able to move a recording to a different item. It is a little annoying how long it takes for the app to connect to the Storypod device when first opened. But after it connects, I can change the track that is currently playing, which I like. I do wish that there was a way to lock the buttons on the device so that my toddler can’t mess with it (she’s not yet 2 and doesn’t understand the button functionality yet). ### 4/5 — Storypod fans! *2025-03-19, version 2.0.3* We love storypod, crafties, books and its app. I think its far superior to its competitors for the target ages and its educational content. But there are some things that are left desired. I wish you could use the storypod’s white noise feature without wifi. There’s an occasional lag between commands on the phone and the storypod and we’ve had the white noise start randomly while playing a craftie. Not huge issues bc they were easily resolved but room for improvement. I love the ability to record your own content but allowing an upload of a file/mp3 would be a complete game changer! It enables us to play specific tracks from our crafties without scrolling through each track manually. We use the app mostly for the bedtime features to easily set timers and volume limits. The one tricky part is that if you are having family make recordings they need to download and navigate the same app which has been confusing for some. ### 4/5 — Track Selection/Storypod *2025-01-08, version 2.0.3* One great advantage to the parent app is being able to see and control what tracks are being played on the Storypod. Helpful when my little guy has a particular request. The app itself is user friendly. Being able to switch between multiple Storypods is also a win for our growing family especially when navigating night time listening and not want to physically need to turn off devices. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2025-01-08, version 2.0.3* I love the Storypod but there are functions such as the bedtime mode and nightlight that only function through the app when connected to Wifi. I would not be able to use it outside of my house. Some of my crafties won’t allow me to play them off WiFi even after downloading them. All of these glitches reduce usability and cause my time. The app also doesn’t save my WiFi password and connect automatically every time I am home. This is frustrating and a time waster. We love it so far, it’s nice that the craftie/token keeps playing after it is removed from the device. We have a few crafties and tokens in our collection, but wish there was more of a variety like their competitors. The only downside I have encounter is the device disconnects with my WiFi, which is sometimes a pain to reconnect. ### 5/5 — Awesome no screen book story alternative *2025-01-07, version 2.0.3* Just got a storypod and crafties (small figure with story magnet in the bottom that attaches to the pod) for the holidays for my toddlers. Love that they can pick and choose their storypod and that there is a variety of both stories and songs. The best part is that they can place it on the pod to play and take it off but the story/music continues to play so my littlest can take off the toy to play with it while listening. ### 5/5 — App for storypod *2025-01-07, version 2.0.3* We absolutely love our story pods. And love the app and the features as it allows us to customize each child’s pod. It’s extremely user-friendly. Love that you can have multiple pods under one account. I love how easy it is to control the pods through the app. It’s extremely convenient when you have a toddler who doesn’t want you to touch their pod. They also love that you can see which content is downloaded to the pod. In the ability to remove content as needed. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The gift that worked one time *2026-07-02, version 2.0.3* I purchased the Storypod as a Christmas present for my three kids. I was so excited! We used it once before it quit working. I reached out to the company and after sending all the information, plus videos, and screenshots the Storypod team decided my unit was defective and a replacement was sent out. I received a used replacement unit, which I agreed to, but it also had the same issue. It only worked one time and then never turned on again. I repeated the process of talking to Storypod support again and another used unit was sent to me. Guess what happened….it also did not work. After receiving the third faulty and unusable Storypod I kindly requested a refund. Are you ready for the best part. I had to send pictures, purchase dates, and jump through all the hoops AGAIN only to be ghosted by the company. Now I have three Storypods that DO NOT work plus approximately fifteen crafties that are completely useless. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend using Storypod or purchasing anything from this company. Best of luck to anyone who uses this company. ### 1/5 — Slow ineffective customer service *2026-04-19, version 2.0.3* I got a Storypod as a gift for Christmas along with a few of the recordable stickers that my family recorded on and it worked a couple weeks then stopped working out of nowhere. Customer service replaced the whole thing which I was so happy about even though they are a little slow to reply to emails. Then none of the content we had worked anymore because the recordables are registered with the old broken device. Customer service eventually said they’d transfer the recordings over, that was about 2 months ago. It’s now been about 4 months owning the device and 3.5 months not able to use it. Seems like a very poor system that recordables are so hard to transfer, and the slow response time and inability to solve the problem is extremely frustrating. What a letdown for such a promising product. JUNK *2024-01-06, version 2.0.3* Ask me how our Storypod experience is going and I couldn’t even tell you, because I cannot even get the stupid thing to connect to my phone for Wi-Fi for the very first set step of setting it up. This is incredibly frustrating and is an expensive paperweight. The app doesn’t even save your login information so I have to force quit the app over and over and over and sign back in and add my child. Every single time I try to connect to the Wi-Fi to set this stupid thing up. this is a waste of money. ### 1/5 — The app can’t connect to our Wi-Fi *2023-12-26, version 2.0.3* We are on our second story pod because support who had us record what we were doing with setup sent us that second one after they couldn’t figure out what we were doing wrong. Everything else in the house can connect to the Wi-Fi, so it’s a Storypod problem, one that is increasingly common per online. You may love your children but you will forever hate the Storypod App. Your children will cry in disappointment, you will cry, everyone will cry. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t do anything *2023-12-15* You go in to set up and the app freezes on WiFi page over and over even when Storypod says it is successfully connected to WiFi. It makes all of the additional items unusable, sticker, crafties, ect. Extremely disappointing. I’ve contacted customer support and they only thing they stay is to send it back and they send out a new one, third one still doesn’t work Christmas is in a week, save yourself the hassle. It’s the apps issue that ruined the whole thing. ### 1/5 — Run!!! *2023-11-29* I was so excited to get this for my daughter but the customer service and lack of resources alone is a big enough reason to run. After spending an entire day setting this up and downloading all of the crafties I was so excited to give this to my daughter. She LOVED it instantly and played with it the rest of the night. The next morning I went to give it to her to play with before school and notified it would only play the last crafty and was no longer registering any other crafty places on top. After scouring the internet for help articles and watching any YouTube video available along with making SEVERAL attempts to call and email support I begrudgingly did a factory reseat knowing I would lose hours of work with downloaded content. Now there are no downloaded crafts and nothing will play. Everything else on the device works but the reader which unfortunately makes it completely useless. They claim to have phone and email response but I they never answer the phone or return calls and all of their emails have been unhelpful canned response. Looking at their website it claims they will replace a defective product within TWELVE MONTHS of it being returned which is outrageous and I can’t even start the return process. Storypod has officially ruined Christmas for my toddler. I was very excited to share this with other mom friends as Christmas gifts but now I will be making sure to tell everyone I know that this brand is not worth the hype. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2023-09-13, version 2.0.3* We have had the full range of products from this company for years and purchased countless accessory items for our children. How disappointed we were to find the customer service non existent when we had an issue after years of using this product. Rude and unhelpful. I did a ton of research and decided to go with a StoryPod. It’s been a big hit so far! I love that the outside is cushy and won’t break if dropped or knocked over. The characters are a great size for little hands and my FAVORITE part of the StoryPod is the fact that the story continues if the character or token is taken off.
