## What is Stowe?

Hold the mic and say whatever is on your mind — the errand, the appointment, the thing you keep meaning to do. Every morning Stowe hands back three to five things: a plan short enough to actually finish, composed for you, made entirely on your phone.

That is the whole app. You talk, it sorts, and the day arrives already decided.

Capture
Hold the button and ramble: water the plants every three days, call mum tomorrow, gym at seven. Stowe splits that into separate items, guesses which ones repeat and when things are due, and shows each as a chip you can fix with one tap. Ignoring the chips is fine. If you would rather type, the field sits right under the mic as an equal path.

Your words stay your words, including Hindi-English mid-sentence — kal gym jaana hai. Stowe never rewrites your phrasing into something more correct.

Today
Three to five cards. Not the backlog, not everything you have ever said — what is actually due, plus one or two things that move something forward. One progress ring. Tap to complete, swipe to defer, long-press to swap. There is no show-all button anywhere, because the short list is the point.

Now
One thing, full screen, nothing else. Check it and the next one slides up.

Journal
Fifteen seconds in the evening: what you did, and one tap to roll the rest to tomorrow. Unfinished never renders as failure. No red, no counting of what you missed.

A streak that counts planning, not perfection
Making a plan and looking at it is the day kept. Miss a day and a banked freeze covers it instead of resetting you to zero. Come back after a week away and there is no wall of overdue items waiting: the stale plan goes to the Journal and you start fresh.

Works in airplane mode
Speech, sorting and storage all happen on this phone. Nothing you say is uploaded, and you can check it in ten seconds — turn the phone offline, say something, and watch it still become a plan. The only thing Stowe ever downloads is Apple's speech model, once.

Widgets, and one notification
Today on your home screen and lock screen, free. One morning nudge when the plan is ready; an evening review and a streak reminder if you want them, and nothing beyond those three. No marketing pushes, ever.

No account, no setup
Open it and talk. Nothing is required beyond speaking — no projects, no labels, no filters to maintain.

Free forever
Capture, today's plan and the widgets are free and stay free. Stowe Pro adds the Watch app, your whole journal past the last seven days, export and backup, a morning read-aloud, a second pass over a rambling draft, and an icon pack. The paywall is somewhere you go looking, never something that interrupts capture or your morning.

Requires iOS 26. Refining drafts needs an Apple Intelligence device; capture and the daily plan work on any iPhone running iOS 26 — on device, offline.

### How does Stowe handle task capture?

You hold the microphone button and speak your tasks, errands, or appointments. Stowe then processes your speech to create separate items, guessing repetitions and due dates. You can also type tasks if preferred.

### Does Stowe work offline?

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-08-29

Stowe 2.0 — ask your whole story.

ASK, A NEW TAB. The search circle joins the bar. Ask for things the way you'd say them — "did I say something about the dentist?" finds "Book a checkup for my teeth". Type it or speak it; answers arrive as you go. Asking your list is free; asking your finished story too is Pro.

NAME A LIST, GET THE LIST. "What did we plan for the Goa trip?" answers with the whole trip — the list's door and everything on it.

THE WEEKLY RETURN. Once a week, Toki brings back the oldest thing still with you. Do it today, rest it for a while, or let it go — asking finds it again.

NEW WIDGETS. The Run (your days of planning, with Toki keeping watch), Next (your focus box, live), a list of your choice, and Still with you — one old thing resurfaced each day.

ALSO: multiple lists with spoken capture landing where you stand, tag and list editing in Settings, focus boxes for things and routines, and a stack of polish throughout.

### 1.9 — 2026-08-27

Lists. A separate Captured for a separate purpose — a project, a trip, the groceries.

Make one from the rail above your list (on the Mac, it's in the sidebar), switch with a tap, and everything you say lands in the list you're standing in. Your tags work in every list, each list remembers its own arrangement, and today's plan stays one day across all of them.

Making more lists is part of Stowe Pro. Your first list — and everything on it — stays free.

### 1.8 — 2026-08-26

Tags, and a list you can arrange.

Put a word on a card — work, home, errands, people, health, or one you write yourself. One word per card, and never a guess: Stowe does not invent a tag from what you said. Each word keeps its own colour, so a list you filed is a list you can read down.

Captured groups by tag, by kind or by day, and sorts inside each group — newest, oldest, soonest, or A to Z. Nothing is ever hidden: every card sits under a heading, including the ones with no tag on them.

Steps, for a thing too big to start:

• Break this down splits a task into small steps on this phone, and it reads what the task says rather than answering about an example.
• Add a step writes your own, as many as the thing really takes.
• Both stay on the card however long the list gets.

A note and a photo, where you need them:

• They show on the card you're working from, so the shelf label is in front of you rather than two taps away. Tap the photo to open it full size.
• A picture can come from the camera, your photos, or Files.

Also in this one: a second way to capture for when the words are already the task, a mic that says it's listening the moment it starts, and a good number of small things that were sitting crooked.

Everything still happens on your phone.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-25

Tags, and a list you can arrange.

Put a word on a card — work, home, errands, people, health, or one you write yourself. One word per card, and never a guess: Stowe does not invent a tag from what you said.

Captured groups by tag, by kind or by day. Nothing is hidden — every card sits under a heading, including the ones with no tag on them.

Steps, for a thing too big to start:

• Break this down splits a task into small steps on this phone, and it now reads what the task says rather than answering about an example.
• Add a step writes your own, as many as the thing really takes.
• Both stay on the card however long the list gets, and a step you did not want comes off it.

Also in this one:

• Just add it — a second way to capture, for the times the words are already the task and there is nothing to read.
• The mic says it is listening the moment it starts, not a moment after.
• A note and a photo show on the card you are working from, so the shelf label is where you need it. Tap the photo to open it full size.
• Two layouts that broke on a narrow row.

Everything still happens on your phone.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-24

Voice, on the iPhones where it never worked.

On some iPhones every hold of the mic came back with nothing — not slowly, not sometimes, every time. Stowe now falls back to a second way of listening when the first one can't run. Still on this phone, still fine in aeroplane mode, still nothing you say sent anywhere.

Four readings that were wrong rather than missing:

• "write the monthly report" was becoming a routine that came back every month, with "monthly" taken out of your own sentence. It's a task now.
• "subah 6 baje" was six in the evening. A part of the day now settles the hour — and "shaam ko" on its own still sets no time at all, because it isn't one.
• "saade chaar baje" was losing its half hour.
• "every other Monday" was a single Monday.

Hindi weekday names now name a day, and "ek ghanta" or "das minute" are read as long as they are.

And a note or a photo can go on anything — the shelf label, the counter number, the thing a sentence is bad at holding.
