App is ok but honestly updated it 5 times in 2 months now. It won’t let you use it until you update so I cbf anymore. Played twice, one 11’s game we only had 13 people for kickoff time, we finally had 10v10 by the end of the hour but was a waste of my time & money. Second time 5’s we again didn’t have enough players at kickoff time and some were super beginner while others super elite. However, the pricing is misleading. A game will have a displayed price that is significantly lower than the actual price to play. This is due to at least 3 additional fees and taxes added - I’d argue it falls afoul of the ACL. You also can’t pay for games ad hoc - you must buy credit in the app, then use that credit to pay games. I imagine the creators hope you purchase credits and forget to use them, which also leaves a bad taste. ### 5/5 — Exceptional *2025-05-02, version 6.7.3* Very easy to use app if you are looking to play some football with games available on a daily basis. Shoutout to Ignatius, the host for my first game. He made me feel welcomed, explained the rules very clearly and even gave us extra time to play. Hope to see you again soon. ### 1/5 — Money minded *2026-03-23* Stranger Soccer is honestly one of the most disappointing platforms I’ve dealt with. They claim to be about making football accessible, but that clearly doesn’t apply if you’re in a remote area. It feels like players outside major cities are completely ignored — limited games, poor organization, and zero effort to expand or support those communities. On top of that, the fees are ridiculously high for what you actually get. You’re paying premium prices for a service that barely delivers, especially if you’re not in a central location. There’s no real value, no fairness, and definitely no consideration for players who don’t live in busy urban hubs. What makes it worse is the poor communication. Games get cancelled and you’re only informed about 45 minutes before kickoff — completely inconsiderate for people who’ve already planned their time, travel, and schedule around it. They also do nothing to encourage new players to join. No real incentives, no effort to grow the community — just a constant push for bookings and payments. Meanwhile, local hosts are the only ones actually trying — going above and beyond to organise games and keep things running — yet they get little to no acknowledgement or support for their efforts. It’s completely unfair. At this point, it genuinely feels like the app owner and organisers don’t care about the players or even the hosts. It’s all about the money, not the community. If you’re in a remote area, don’t expect much — except high costs, last-minute cancellations, and frustration. ### 1/5 — Arnold adams *2025-11-25* Price is ridiculously expensive for a kick about hidden under the guise of community building. They also save your credit card details without your permission, so they lock you into an auto renewal subscription system. Tried contacting their Support email, slow reply. ### 1/5 — Getting worse and worse *2025-04-02, version 6.6.3* First started using this app around 8 years ago. However, recently they have been increasing the prices like crazy. ~$25 just to play one game plus they have also quietly added GST and transaction fees for topping up etc. On top of that, SS games are getting worse. Games cancelled at the last minute, pitches double booked, hosts showing up late. The list goes on… ### 1/5 — Cheaters and robbers - don’t download *2025-01-02* I used one time and canceled it after one month and they keep charging me. They are a bunch of cheaters and robbers!
