## What is Strangey Dangey?

Your kid found another video. You already know the drill: it looks fine, it sounds fine, and it is absolutely not fine.

Strangey Dangey checks it first. Search the show or paste the link and Strangey hands you a verdict.

THE VERDICT

Clean: green light, age-appropriate.
Sus: proceed with caution, here's exactly what to know.
Hard Pass: hard no, here's why.

Every verdict shows its receipts: a breakdown across seven filters, tuned to your kid's age.

Unkind Language: bullying, name-calling, mean-spirited humor.
Violence: fighting, weapons, dangerous stunts.
Brat Behavior: disrespect and tantrums modeled as funny.
Creep Factor: predatory vibes, grooming patterns, elsagate-style content.
Scary Factor: jump scares and dread they're not ready for.
Overstimulation: rapid cuts, constant yelling, dopamine-hijacking pacing.
Consumerism: stealth ads, merch pushing, toy-driven content.

Even Clean comes with a heads-up: we flag how scary it peaks, so bedtime isn't a surprise.

START WITH A DIAGNOSIS

Tell us what your kids already watch and we'll load it into Strangey Dangey. You see what that mix is actually feeding their brains across seven dimensions: Empathy, Learning, Creativity, Curiosity, Big Feelings, Problem Solving, and Movement. That's the Brain Diet. Rotate in shows that fill the gaps, and get picks chosen to feed what's missing.

BUILT FOR HOW YOU ACTUALLY PARENT

- Stay where you are: tap Share in YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu or Apple TV+ and the verdict shows up right in the share sheet, for every kid at once.
- Every kid is different: verdicts adjust to each kid's age, and what's fine for the 11 year old isn't fine for the 6 year old.
- You make the call: every verdict waits for your approve or veto, kid by kid. Your yeses build the family library.
- No cold start: hundreds of popular kids’ shows and movies with verdicts.
- Know where to watch: when a show earns its spot, we tell you where it's streaming.

PRO

Free gives you 5 screenings a day for your first 7 days, then 3 a week forever.

Pro is a monthly or annual subscription. Annual runs less than half the monthly rate. Pro unlocks:
- No daily cap for normal family use*
- Family Sharing: one sub covers both parents on the same Apple Family
- Custom per-kid filter thresholds
- Full screening history (free keeps the last 7 days)

*What "no daily cap" means. The free tier has a small weekly screening limit. Pro lifts it, and for any normal amount of household screening you will never hit a cap. That is what we mean by no daily cap or unlimited. It is not an allowance to run the service at machine scale. Fair-use limits apply to every account including Pro, set far above what a family screening shows by hand will reach. We'll tell you where the line sits for your account if you ask, and we may adjust these limits to keep the service healthy and our costs predictable.

PRIVACY

We send public captions and video metadata to Google Gemini for analysis. Never your name, your email, your kids' names, or any device identifiers.

Made by parents, for parents. By Hilltop Unlimited LLC.

### 5/5 — Excellent for Parents and Grandparents

*2026-09-29*

This is a great app for parents and grandparents who want to quickly determine whether a movie or TV show is appropriate for a child’s age. I’m using it to make sure my small grandkids don’t venture off watching shows or movies which are not good for them when I’m babysitting them. And it works like a charm.

I especially appreciate how quickly it provides a detailed, thoughtful assessment. It gives you useful information in seconds so you can make your own informed decision about what your child or grandchild watches. Very helpful, easy to use, and much more informative than simply looking at a movie rating. Highly recommended!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.7 — 2026-10-11

Strangey's answer now lands in his speech bubble in one smooth motion. Nothing on the page jumps.
Older saved screenings get his take too.
Search is quicker, and every suggestion says what it is, so a series and its holiday special never look alike.
Your Watch shelves show one tile per show, with clean names and the right picture.
A streaming service you shared from no longer shows up as if it were a YouTube creator.
Behind the scenes, his shelf of already-screened picks more than doubled, and every new title was checked against what's actually been published about it.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-03

Built for homes with more than one kid.

- When your kids get different answers, the card says it plainly: "Not yet for Mia · OK for Theo."
- Strangey gives you the words to say to both of them, so one kid's no doesn't start a fight.
- It saves to Theo's shelf, and to Mia's Someday shelf until Mia's ready.
- Strangey and his answer sit in the same spot on every card, whichever app you shared from.
- Prime Video movie titles read cleanly while he screens them.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-02

Share it, get the answer, get back to the show.

- Tap Share in YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu or Apple TV+ and the verdict lands right in the share sheet: the poster, Strangey's take, and on a sus or hard pass, the words to say out loud.
- Every kid on your account gets screened at once. When they don't agree, the card tells you who it's OK for.
- See how long it runs before you commit to the couch.

The verdict card got calmer. Strangey says it once, and everything under the verdict has one place.

- What he saw and the line to say out loud share one speech bubble, right above the dots.
- One chip per kiddo shows their call. Tap it to switch between OK, Later and Block.
- Watch now and Add to rotation sit side by side.
- The full read: how it affects your kid's brain and the deeper read, in one drawer.
- Screen more sits on the card, next to where the video came from. Screen Another is now New screening.
- Fixes: Showtime shows one Strangey at a time, and a single-title search has its Add to rotation button back.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-27

Strangey is on every card now. He watches while you wait, hands down the verdict in his own words, and says what he saw in one line next to his face.

- Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Apple TV+ links get their poster, the rating the platform shows on its own tile, and the full read.
- Every screening looks the same: one card whether you searched a title or shared a link.
- A third choice per kiddo: OK, Later or Block. Later parks a title on that kid's Someday shelf.
- Type a title two shows share and both come up, so you screen the one you meant.
- Sharing a verdict sends the verdict itself, with the card as the preview.
- He lives on Home, on the widget and on Showtime.
- Fixes: a streaming show could read a milder rating than its tile; Screen Another could land you mid-page; his speech bubble drew as two shapes on dark backgrounds.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-21

Artwork got a lot better.

• The right movie now gets the right poster. Titles that share a name used to be a coin flip — we ask by release year now, so a 2020 film stops wearing a 1979 one's poster.

• We'd been turning down real posters for being a hair under our size rule and falling back to a freeze-frame from a trailer. Fixed.

• Bought Pro moments before signing in? That subscription now lands on your account instead of going missing.

• The Watch tab no longer shows a section heading with nothing under it.
