## What is StreamLabs?

Meet StreamLabs®, your all-in-one home water solution that protects your home from water damage and leaks from both plumbing and non-plumbing sources. Using a combination of advanced ultrasonic technology and sensors, StreamLabs captures and delivers powerful insights into your water usage – and provides real-time alerts of potential leaks. Manually customize your leak alert settings or let the new learning Smart Alerts™ feature automatically protect your home by detecting any water usage outside of the norm.

Choose from three StreamLabs devices: StreamLabs Scout, StreamLabs Monitor or StreamLabs Control. All three of these Wi-Fi-enabled devices provide leak protection for your home, and work together or independently. The StreamLabs Scout and the StreamLabs Smart Home Water Monitor each install in under 5-minutes with no pipe cutting, tools, or professional installer required. The StreamLabs Control features remote, flow-based automatic water shut-off functionality, and can use alerts from the Scout to stop leaks even sooner for high-risk appliances such as water heaters and ice makers.

The StreamLabs App is mission control for your StreamLabs devices. It supports the Scout, Monitor and Control all in one place to create tailored household leak protection optimized for your needs. In the StreamLabs App, you’ll have access to:

### 2/5 — App crapped up

*2026-04-29, version 6.8.9*

Can’t control the device anymore… app is crapped up

### 1/5 — Terrible Customer Service

*2026-02-17*

Don’t bother reaching out to this company. They don’t respond to anyone even if you call you are sent to an answering service and they never respond back. The customer service response is nonexistent and if you’re looking to buy this device to integrate into smart home platform don’t bother.

### 1/5 — App not working

*2026-02-01, version 6.8.6*

App keeps freezing up whenever I try logging in

### 1/5 — App shout down

*2025-09-28, version 6.7.2*

Dad keep dying before I can even do anything on it. It comes up. I upgraded it. It comes up. It runs for a couple of minutes and it dies disappear. I have to start all over again. I can’t even calibrate it anymore. This is terrible.

### 1/5 — Devise doesn’t connect to WiFi

*2025-09-13, version 6.7.2*

I had water leak and this devise was introduced by the insurance company which owns the stream lab. But I can’t connect it to my phone at all. The devise emits WiFi but the app on my phone doesn’t recognize it.
Then insurance company start saying that if I don’t get the connected they will not renew the insurance
It’s terrible!!

### 2/5 — HOW NEAR??

*2025-08-01, version 6.7.1*

Unable to set the device up. The app seriously needs some freaking feedback for the user. Timeout counters, signal strength indicators, etc. How near to stand is the most basic. Seems like a quarter of an inch is necessary for that initial connection. Bleh. Bleh. Bleh.

### 1/5 — Poor Accuracy, Absolutely No Customer Service

*2025-07-27, version 6.7.1*

I have a StreamLabs Monitor, purchased March 2024. I got it as a backup to the water authority meter and to try and track down a leak. I then signed up for the Subscription Service in July 2024 to better track and analyze the data. I found, when comparing the Monitor's to the Utility's meter, that there was an over 10% error with the Monitor. And I was getting nuisance leak alerts when the shower was being used or the garden was being watered. So the product is perhaps a 2-3 star.

What gets the one star rating is customer service. When my subscription was automatically renewed, within a couple hours of receiving the notice I replied that I wanted to cancel my subscription and receive a refund. I received no response. A few days later I emailed customer service again and called them. The email was not responded to. The call quickly went to a request for me to leave a message; the auto-attendant said I would receive a call back. I did not receive a call back. After several days of calls and emails I received an email notifying me that my Subscription had been cancelled (as requested, finally), but I have not received a refund. A note on customer service: in July 2024 when I called to start the Subscription, I spoke to a human and was able to ask questions and get answers. Now, customer service is silent and non-existent. (OR, it may be that customer service is no longer staffed with humans, but is run by an anti-social AI who does not like to interact with humans).

After submitting the this review on their website, I read other reviews and found that 45 of 45 “shop reviews” are dated 3/20/2024. One other is dated 6/2/2025. Suspicious.

### 1/5 — awful awful app

*2025-07-18*

This is by far the worst software we’ve ever known. We bought the system to monitor the water flow in our home that’s insured by Chubb. We had to completely disconnect it when it turned off all water to our home overnight before we were leaving the country in the morning. Endless notifications about absolutely nothing important. Fortunately we’ve never had a water problem so we’ve never received a meaningful notification. Do not punish yourself with this app.

### 1/5 — Last 4h Unselectable

*2025-06-22, version 6.6.1*

Cannot select the last four hours of any day in historical day view to see the number of gallons used in each of those hours

### 1/5 — App Update

*2025-05-11*

Unable to get support over weekend. From other comments, I assume an update occurred.. this afternoon. Frantic, I’ve taken my network down 3 different times. Resulting in nothing but poor and inability to maintain connection. Tried to contact support; no one to answer telephone call or text. A company that is truly serious about providing good customer support & service would never make changes, then leave the building for the weekend.. I’m disappointed & don’t trust you right now.
