### 2/5 — App crapped up

*2026-04-29, version 6.8.9*

Can’t control the device anymore… app is crapped up

### 2/5 — HOW NEAR??

*2025-08-01, version 6.7.1*

Unable to set the device up. The app seriously needs some freaking feedback for the user. Timeout counters, signal strength indicators, etc. How near to stand is the most basic. Seems like a quarter of an inch is necessary for that initial connection. Bleh. Bleh. Bleh.

### 2/5 — Recalibration broken

*2025-03-15, version 6.4.8*

With latest update the device won’t recalibrate making it useless. Also no way to verify for device updates

### 1/5 — Devastating Fail

*2024-12-17*

This system failed to detect a major obvious leak that caused thousands of dollars of damage. Luckily we were in town. More insidious was that it detected leaks fir the sprinklers we were installing just a couple months prior so we were fooled into thinking this actually works! Maybe it does part of the time but that just gives you a false sense of security. This is not worth the hassle. STAY AWAY!!!! Worst product ever. If I could give no stars I would.

### 2/5 — Lack of Control with App

*2024-10-11*

There should be a way to input that you are doing some unusual water event BEFORE you do it! Like filling a swimming pool. Instead it shuts off the water!
After the original “learning” week it turned off my shower just before I got into it. Apparently I decided to shower later than I showered during the “learning” week 🙄

### 1/5 — Keeps shutting off

*2024-08-09, version 6.3.4*

This app is supposed to learn patterns. We have had it for over three months. It still shuts down the water each time the softener regenerates itself. Also regularly shuts off for no good reason. It is a nuisance rather than a peace of mind

### 1/5 — Causes far more damage than it could ever preven

*2024-07-04*

This app is an unmitigated disaster. It shuts down water on a daily basis and often more than once. It has been the cause of thousands. of dollars of service calls and lost time and use of our home, in only a few months of use. Cannot think of anything that has been more harmful.

### 1/5 — Bane of my existence

*2024-05-07*

I absolutely despise this system. It is way too sensitive and shuts off my water multiple times a day. The app itself is utter trash. Takes an age to load when you need to access it and is overly complex when you finally get in. Im considering changing insurance providers as a result. Avoid installing this at all costs as Chubb won't let you uninstall it once it's in.

### 1/5 — No alerts

*2024-04-30*

Since the latest update a few days ago, I am not receiving any alerts. I live in Arizona; never change time zones. There is no spot for that either any longer.

### 2/5 — App issues the main problem

*2024-03-10*

The app keeps crashing and shutting off my water. The shut off is having false reads and constantly overriding my action. It is impossible to get Stream labs to help and the app and website have bug issues.

### 2/5 — Buggy and terrible UX

*2024-03-10*

Takes 4 clicks to get to close/open water line with 2-5 second delay between each click. To make matter worse crashes most of the time.

I wish I had never installed this system.

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2024-03-10, version 6.2.2*

Started crashing today 3/10/2024

### 3/5 — App update without notification

*2024-02-22*

Two of my monitors went down without WiFi. I tried to reconnect it, but not success. I contacted the company and told they has upgraded the app. After downloading app, it works. I almost try to buy another one.

### 2/5 — App Update

*2024-02-12*

I was out of the country when StreamLabs updated their app that caused connectivity to be dropped. I had no control or information on my water system during this time. If they had alerted users to this issue it could have been resolved remotely with a simple upgrade. Also, the app still won’t allow me to name the device and save it to the app.

I was pleased with the app up until this issue. However, connectivity while out of town is critical so I give the App just 2 stars.

### 1/5 — Horrible app.

*2024-02-12, version 6.2.1*

Asks me to go through set up again and again. Very painful setup process. Works only on my android phone and no longer on iPhone. Too many problems to list. Very expensive monitor!

### 2/5 — Great Idea, Poor Execution

*2024-01-27, version 6.2.0*

This app has a lot of promise, but the actual experience is lackluster. My Control unit is constantly disconnecting despite being very close to a Wi-Fi AP (and surrounded by happily connected devices), and many of the most useful features (e.g. the API!) are behind a paywall.

### 1/5 — Poor Quality

*2024-01-21*

For a mission critical component of your house, you would expect this app to be reliable. Customer since 2020. Today the app kicked me out; required a password reset; it forgot my “location” and all devices associated with my home. Had to factory default everything and add the monitor back to a new location. All historical data missing from 2020. Then the app crashes. Won’t reopen. Deleted from iPhone. Reinstalled. Still stuck on the opening screen. Downloaded the app onto my iPad; same issue.

Instead of water monitoring and control, I have simply unplugged power to my $1000 paperweight.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible Customer Service

*2026-02-17*

Don’t bother reaching out to this company. They don’t respond to anyone even if you call you are sent to an answering service and they never respond back. The customer service response is nonexistent and if you’re looking to buy this device to integrate into smart home platform don’t bother.

### 1/5 — App not working

*2026-02-01, version 6.8.6*

App keeps freezing up whenever I try logging in

### 1/5 — App shout down

*2025-09-28, version 6.7.2*

Dad keep dying before I can even do anything on it. It comes up. I upgraded it. It comes up. It runs for a couple of minutes and it dies disappear. I have to start all over again. I can’t even calibrate it anymore. This is terrible.

### 1/5 — Devise doesn’t connect to WiFi

*2025-09-13, version 6.7.2*

I had water leak and this devise was introduced by the insurance company which owns the stream lab. But I can’t connect it to my phone at all. The devise emits WiFi but the app on my phone doesn’t recognize it.
Then insurance company start saying that if I don’t get the connected they will not renew the insurance
It’s terrible!!

### 1/5 — Poor Accuracy, Absolutely No Customer Service

*2025-07-27, version 6.7.1*

I have a StreamLabs Monitor, purchased March 2024. I got it as a backup to the water authority meter and to try and track down a leak. I then signed up for the Subscription Service in July 2024 to better track and analyze the data. I found, when comparing the Monitor's to the Utility's meter, that there was an over 10% error with the Monitor. And I was getting nuisance leak alerts when the shower was being used or the garden was being watered. So the product is perhaps a 2-3 star.

What gets the one star rating is customer service. When my subscription was automatically renewed, within a couple hours of receiving the notice I replied that I wanted to cancel my subscription and receive a refund. I received no response. A few days later I emailed customer service again and called them. The email was not responded to. The call quickly went to a request for me to leave a message; the auto-attendant said I would receive a call back. I did not receive a call back. After several days of calls and emails I received an email notifying me that my Subscription had been cancelled (as requested, finally), but I have not received a refund. A note on customer service: in July 2024 when I called to start the Subscription, I spoke to a human and was able to ask questions and get answers. Now, customer service is silent and non-existent. (OR, it may be that customer service is no longer staffed with humans, but is run by an anti-social AI who does not like to interact with humans).

After submitting the this review on their website, I read other reviews and found that 45 of 45 “shop reviews” are dated 3/20/2024. One other is dated 6/2/2025. Suspicious.

### 1/5 — awful awful app

*2025-07-18*

This is by far the worst software we’ve ever known. We bought the system to monitor the water flow in our home that’s insured by Chubb. We had to completely disconnect it when it turned off all water to our home overnight before we were leaving the country in the morning. Endless notifications about absolutely nothing important. Fortunately we’ve never had a water problem so we’ve never received a meaningful notification. Do not punish yourself with this app.

### 1/5 — Last 4h Unselectable

*2025-06-22, version 6.6.1*

Cannot select the last four hours of any day in historical day view to see the number of gallons used in each of those hours

### 1/5 — App Update

*2025-05-11*

Unable to get support over weekend. From other comments, I assume an update occurred.. this afternoon. Frantic, I’ve taken my network down 3 different times. Resulting in nothing but poor and inability to maintain connection. Tried to contact support; no one to answer telephone call or text. A company that is truly serious about providing good customer support & service would never make changes, then leave the building for the weekend.. I’m disappointed & don’t trust you right now.

### 1/5 — App crashes

*2025-03-09*

Since updating this app, it crashes as soon as I click on the device for my home. I can no longer control the StreamLabs device from my phone and have to physically go to my basement to turn the water back on when there is a false alarm and it shuts off, which occurs several times per week.

### 1/5 — No customer support/dead controller

*2025-01-19, version 6.4.6*

I’ve tried every troubleshooting method on their site as my controller seems to have power but all lights out and no connectivity. I left their support a voicemail over a week ago and nothing. My controller is now just a glorified manual shut off valve. Don’t recommend this company.

### 5/5 — Life Saver

*2024-08-02*

So thankful for their products, prevented me from having water damage in my home while I was away by automatically shutting off my water.

### 5/5 — Great tool to protect your home from water damage

*2024-01-22*

I love this app and the device. It saved my house from water damage couple of times since I installed the device last year. My toilet hose broke and leaked water. Less than a minute later, I got an notification from the app for a leak and the water was shut off. Thank you StreamLabs!

### 5/5 — Streamlabs water system

*2023-03-25, version 1.14.0*

I have this system in my home for two years now and I don't have to worry about flooding in my house. I had maintenance crews washing the outside of my home when I was at work and it turned off the water on them which was so funny. I watched them on my camera knocking on my door and was puzzled. Greatest product for your home.

### 5/5 — Saved me a bunch

*2022-01-22*

I manage apartment buildings. One running toilet can cost me upwards of $1000 for the month. This device has paid for itself over and over again. I’m buying it for all my buildings. Great product. Why the water company doesn’t do this is dumb. They would save water if customers had the ability to monitor. Thank you

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2020-03-31, version 5.0.1*

This app gives me peace of mind that I won’t get another $2000 bill. Some tenants don’t care about a toilet running water 24hrs a day...this app keeps guard of their negligence.

### 5/5 — Real Time

*2017-08-29*

I have tried other types of devices for water monitoring. What I like about Streamlabs is the real time flow feature. It's accurate and immediate. I can see just how much water we've used and can see the difference when the house is occupied with two people vs six people. I put a hose in my pool and forgot about it. That is until Streamlabs REMINDED me. Great product. And I installed it myself.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! That's great that the app reminded you about filling your pool. We hope you continue to enjoy using the product - and as always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or feedback!

### 5/5 — Happy so far

*2017-08-28*

I definitely recommend using something like this to monitor your water usage especially when you're not home. We have a finished basement so a major leak could be catastrophic. This app works pretty well so far - still working on setting the alerts up to get them where I like them. Great idea and we are happy to date. Looking forward to installing a shut off valve that can be controlled away from home in the future.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review! Glad to hear you are enjoying the product. Configuring your alerts to suit your water usage is a great way to maximize the Monitor's value. We also highly recommend using Away Mode whenever no one is at home - this way, any flow over 15 seconds in duration will send you an alert. Thanks again for your feedback!

### 5/5 — Extremely useful app

*2017-08-25*

Love the usage reports and ability to track my water. Caught a big leak the other day and am very happy with the product!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Sounds like your Monitor is already saving you money on your water bill by catching that leak. Let us know if you need anything! Our Support information can be found in the app on the main menu.

### 4/5 — App update required to fix incorrect offline indication

*2024-02-28*

I had the same problem as charliephoo, in that my StreamLabs Control suddenly started showing in the app as offline, even though I was still getting both email alerts as well as alerts from the app. I checked their website, reviewing both the troubleshooting and faq sections, and spent significant time following the generic instructions there, which included power cycling the device, re-entering WiFi info, etc., to no avail. I finally emailed their support, and to their credit they promptly responded and told me I needed to update the app to fix this problem. I did that, and it worked.

I understand that any number of events could have occurred either inside or outside their company to cause this, and I appreciate them fixing their app and providing good email support, but if they have faq and troubleshooting sections on their website and they know about this problem, it is hard to understand why they would not mention it there. If they had (and hopefully they will) it would have saved me significant time and energy.

### 4/5 — Apple Watch Alerts

*2023-12-23*

Please make the app compatible with an Apple Watch. Also please allow a specified alert sound for the app for leaks. Everything else on the app is working great!!
