### 2/5 — Bitrate of Stream? Nope.

*2026-07-24*

I have a Wiim and an MXN10. I really like searching through radio stations on the Wiim because there are so many ways to filter your search. I can search genre and country and it even has a folder (in Vtuner) for high quality audio streams. The stream magic app is not very magical, alas. I type in House music in search and I get every radio station that has the word House in it. You can understand that not every station that has the word house in it plays House music. And vice versa. So let’s see some fairy dust sprinkled on this app to actually make it live up to its name. One should not have to do radio stream research outside the app. Abracadabra!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. I've passed it on to our product team. We're continuously working on improving the app, so hopefully our upcoming releases will better meet your expectations. Cambridge Audio

### 2/5 — update breaks radio search

*2026-07-18, version 4.4.0*

still works on old ios and new droid version but this one whiffs…. wasted hours until figured it out…. worked week before last…… love my streamer but your device interfaces are rather last century and you are long overdue to hire someone with game…. good fortunes and fidelity to you and all listeners

### 3/5 — Major bug in the latest version

*2026-06-12, version 4.3.2*

Works fine except a major bug has creeped in that the play queue doesn’t show. Developer needs to get this fixed as a matter of urgency.

### 4/5 — Please stop the bluetooth nagging!

*2026-06-11, version 4.3.2*

Just updated and now *every* time I open the app it asks for Bluetooth “to connect to accessories”. This is super annoying - please can you add a facility to turn this prompt off. Otherwise, it’s still great!

### 2/5 — Good device shame about the app

*2026-05-15, version 4.2.2*

The app refuses to show my purchases in Qobuz most of the time
When they do appear I get a forbidden error when I select one to view tracks
Thankfully Qobuz connect works seamlessly and the app does play my local files
Hopefully things will improve over time as the device itself is very good and sounds amazing through my quad amp

### 4/5 — Great App but Recent Stations are once more inert after 3.2.2

*2026-04-10, version 4.2.2*

I love the app and especially (recently) the ability to tap a Recent Station to select it. Sadly, with the advent of this latest release, that facility has disappeared. Can you please reinstate it?

### 2/5 — Need to invest much more in user interface

*2025-11-01*

Occasionally this app stops working, meaning you click on your streaming provider (Qobuz in my case) and nothing happens. No error. No anything. Just no music and then you go on a loop of restating the MXN10, restarting the app. Etc. Casting from the phone to the MXN10 always seems unstable.

Cambridge Audio needs to display the status of their infrastructure in a page in the app and in their website. Their hardware is good but seriously worried in a commitment to software.

### 4/5 — Singles, EPs, Compilations and Remixes

*2025-10-19, version 4.2.0*

So it works really well, apart from one niggle, which is my Albums served by my DLNA server (Plex) when looking by artist, get excluded from that view if they are any of the above types. They can still be found if searching by album name, would love it if they could be included in the artist search results.

### 2/5 — Lousy connection

*2025-08-04, version 4.0.0*

My phone can connect to the CXN2 using Apple play easily but the CA app simply can’t find the player.

### 2/5 — Somethings changed

*2025-06-27, version 4.0.0*

Had been fine, worked without issue. Last few months fails to find CXNV2 which it used to every time instantly. I end up casting or airplay rather than using Streammagic now

### 4/5 — Since update streaming stopped

*2025-06-20, version 3.1.0*

Impossible now to login to Qobuz. Login credentials accepted, then invited to subscribe. Discovered work around - avoid attempt to login directly, click on compass icon takes one to default browser. Can then login.

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2025-05-14, version 3.0.2*

Very disappointing app and even more disappointing hardware. So unreliable, so temperamental. If you have alternatives then use them.

### 1/5 — Worst interface ever

*2025-05-12, version 3.0.2*

Do not buy network player like mxn10. It keeps disconnecting, glitching, switching next song randomly. Save yourself a hassle.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Streamtragic

*2026-06-09, version 4.3.2*

Just stopped working.
Have tried everything to get it connecting back to my MXN10 but no joy.
I can stream direct from Spotify but no access to radio stations and can’t switch off the MXN10 without actually pressing the button.
Disappointing from Cambridge Audio.

### 1/5 — Stream magic isn’t…

*2026-03-21, version 4.2.1*

I enjoyed using this app until I had to change my router. Both CXNv2 and Stream Magic show up as connected to the hub but the app will not “find” the CXN. If I could reconnect I would give 5 stars.

### 1/5 — Now bugging every kitten is session

*2026-03-07, version 4.2.1*

Impossible to connect to my cxn v2, to listen to quobuz, deezer etc. Each new version is introducing new bugs. Listening to music has become a nightmare, rebooting everything from internet box to Cambridge app, cxn, at every session!! Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I’m really fed up !

### 1/5 — Utter junk

*2026-03-07, version 4.2.1*

Utter junk, there is no way to add a full album to the queue (listening from NAS), so you have to listen a song and then manually add and play another song and so on. Android app is way better, IOS version is a total junk…

### 1/5 — Add playlist in the app

*2026-02-22*

The hardware is very good, however, the app is bad! Need to be able to create a playlist. Nothing more frustrating than to browse through the whole library, select a song to be added to the queue in almost random order. The new added song gets added to the last song played on the queue. Ahhh! Can’t rearrange queue. This app has been around for 13 years and yet come up short. All of the music app that I know has a basic playlist capability. This app is holding back the hardware.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback - we really appreciate it. Playlists can currently be saved as Presets in the app; however, we understand this may not provide the experience you were expecting. Your feedback has been shared with our Product team, and we’re actively exploring ways to improve playlist and queue management in future updates. We hope to better meet your expectations going forward. Cambridge Audio

### 1/5 — Unable to use with AirPlay

*2026-01-22, version 4.2.0*

I followed the Cambridge Audio instructions carefully. My iPhone will not connect the device (MN 10) to my WiFi network, which has a strong signal and is working fine.
Long looking at a spinning wheel has wearied me.
Without Airplay, the hardware is of little use to me.
Lesson learned. No more.

### 1/5 — Does not work with my music accounts

*2025-12-13, version 4.2.0*

Now impossible to connect to my qobuz account, or deezer, or tidal , etc

### 1/5 — Can’t play qobuz connect on my new EXN 100. Lame.

*2025-10-09, version 4.2.0*

It’s there. It shows. It doesn’t connect. Upsetting. Need to return the device and get one that isn’t glitchy. Maybe from bluesound.

### 1/5 — Version 4.00 problems

*2025-07-10, version 4.0.0*

I’ve been using my Cambridge audio evo 75 for over a year now but since the stream magic app update last week it’s 50/50 if my iPhone or iPad will connect, just constant searching for product. What’s even more annoying is I can’t still see it on airplay. What’s the point of an app if you can’t connect it to your streamer?

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-07-09, version 4.0.0*

Terrible app with many many bugs and updated manuals. Terribly made for a $2000 speaker

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App support and quality

*2026-04-08, version 4.2.2*

Once you get used to it, it’s a great service. Easy to push liked songs (favourites) to queue, easy to add songs, great sound quality. The customer support from Cambridge Audio is second to none. Highly recommended the company.

### 5/5 — Latest app update

*2026-04-07, version 4.2.2*

After several years of successful use, yesterday's app update has stopped both of my iPads from being able to find my CXN V2 - even when I tell them the IP address. Operation by remote control still fine but now I'm limited to accessing 8 presets!

Update - not had this issue previously but total power down and restart of the CXN solved my problem. I'm happy again!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-12-27, version 4.2.0*

I’ve got a CA Edge NQ preamp and StreamMagic works brilliantly. I’ve no complaints. Used it for over 3 years and have found it to be bulletproof

### 5/5 — Streaming

*2025-09-21, version 4.1.0*

SB

### 5/5 — Substantial UI improvements

*2025-08-19, version 4.0.0*

I had previously complained to CA about the UI on the app. It gave priority to their notifications/updates etc and made common actions require a downward scroll. Recent updates have greatly cleaned this up perfectly and selecting sources or stations are simple and prominent. Nice work! CD art coming through is a nice touch too.

### 5/5 — Does what it says on the tin

*2025-06-30, version 4.0.0*

Can’t fault it. Does what I need.

### 5/5 — Better and better

*2025-06-05, version 3.1.0*

This most recent update includes an equaliser. I listen predominantly on headphones with CA MXN10, so now being able to fine tune the audio input is very welcome. I’d be interested to know what the factory preset is so that I could start with it as a basis to make my own adjustments, rather than start from scratch.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2025-03-26, version 3.0.2*

I use the app daily to listen to music via my Qobuz account. It does the job well and ensures I’m listening to the highest quality music available and not down sampled. I’d love to see the Qobuz implementation be enhanced to allow filters for search and also to provide a means for rapidly scrolling across Avery large collection by offering an A…Z swiped the way Apple Music does. But perfectly functional.

### 5/5 — Better than Blue

*2024-11-20, version 3.0.0*

I’ve been using the very buggy and generally lame Bluesound app that doesn’t even show top tracks for Qobuz or let you use phone buttons for volume. This app works great. No bugs/restarts and doesn’t get in the way. No reason for its rating to be this low.

### 5/5 — Music listening for lazy mind

*2024-08-13*

Cambridge EVO150 got me into streaming music listening although some of them debating for music quality for streaming.
EVO150 has all for me to enjoy streaming music.
Million musics available thru music service which got me dig in for older albums I remember in young age. You don’t have to look for old vinyl records. Its on my finger tips.
Only hope is some day Cambridge can integrate Apple Music application will be nice. Currently using HDMI input from TV set or Apple play to streaming which can degrade the digital quality.

**Developer response:** Thanks for this great review, we're pleased to hear that you're enjoying your player! Your request has been noted :) Happy listening, Cambridge Audio
